Every strike brings me closer to the next home run. --Babe Ruth

You know everytime we are up to bat on this program we have the opportunity to take a strike at a good day. Sometimes the day throws us curves or wacky slow pitches but everyday brings a new opportunity to hit a home run. It is the opportunity to stand up there and see the pitch that is really the hard part, we know the day is coming just like the pitch to a baseball player, how he prepares to swing and how we do, is what makes that homerun happen.

How are you preparing today "hit it our of the ball park"? If you bring your lunch is it packed, is it full of good things? Are you planning a trip to the gym of getting in some exercise? ARe you running late and thinking I will grab something on the way?

Lets stand up and take the pitches we are thrown today full of attitude that we are going to hit the homerun out of the park!

Hope your day is great!

GREAT analogy(sp?) Billie!
I prepared yesterday for today. For me its just having things on hand to keep me on plan with the eating. Yesterday I found my way to the nearest Walmart and stocked up on the easy stuff that I need to stay on plan. Tuna packets, LC tortillas, yogurt, berries etc... Now I feel more in control.

Exercise wise I let myself sleep an hour more this morning and it worked. I felt more rested and ready to tackle the exercises.

Now just to see what the day throws my way! lol
Anyone got any pine tar?
Ally:)

Great thought, Billie, I am ready to "bat" and be on plan.

Nope--not doing the "grab something on the way" any more. That's how I gained back a bunch of weight.

For me the key to success has always been planning what I'm going to eat. My husband has been wonderful as I've been getting back on track. He asked me a couple of weeks ago what he could do to help me. Always before, I've just asked him to keep talking to me about it and to check in with me to see how I'm doing. But then I thought about my biggest challenges--having a good lunch ready and getting myself home to eat before I go to my evening job (tutoring at a local college). So I asked him to do two things: help me make sure my lunch is packed and call me at 4:30 to remind me to get on the road. Just those two simple things have made a world of difference in the last week and a half.

Nothing breeds success like success!

Thought-provoking thread, Billie! Thanks--

Ruth
