I'm officially going to do Protein Power and am starting tomorrow. However, I'm carrying out the rest of our evening with Protein Power. I've been doing Weight Watchers off and on for the last several years and am currently reading the Protein Power book. My husband really feels that I should continue with Weight Watchers because I had lost 31 pounds on it four years ago, but I just feel so much better eating "real food" vs. the plastic garbage they make these days.

I used to eat fat-free cheese and it seems that if a couple extra molecules were added to it, it could be plastic. http://images.lowcarbfriends.com/lcf/bbs/images/smilies/eek1.gif When I eat low carb, it's pretty hard for me to overeat when I'm consuming protein-rich foods because they fill me up so much. I've been afraid to do Protein Power or any plan that doesn't involve counting points because I don't want to gain weight either. I do know how much to eat and since my husband does all the cooking and it so supportive, he makes it easy for me. I need to change my mindset, particularly when I start seeing results. The longest that I've been on any kind of plan was when I did the South Beach Diet for two weeks two years ago and lost seven pounds in that amount of time.

We just got back from Costco and I didn't get any frozen berries and I know they're allowed on Protein Power. Is frozen okay?

Yes & frozen berries with cream can be swirled in a blender or Magic Bullet to make a serving of icecream. I lost all my weight and have been maintaining on PP, so I highly recommend it. Instead of points, think of counting carbs (to not get too many) and protein (to get enough).

PP gets rid of cravings, and you can enjoy decadent (by other diet standards) things like heavy cream in your coffee & full fat dressings on your salad, so deprivation is not required like it is on WW, SB (too low fat for me) and most other diets.

You are one lucky lady to have a husband who does all the cooking! Does he do the dishes too? :)

I think cooking and preparing meals is so much simpler when you use fresh natural ingredients and fats and cook very simply. Grilling your meats and veggies is so good. And sometimes its fun to do more complex recipes. I've been making a little LC cheesecake or custard once in a while. Not too often though because I may eat too much. I find it so weird to visit friends and relatives and notice all the plastic foods (low fat, lots of sugar and preservatives) they have. They fry eggs in Pam. Come on -- I want the butter!

Of course you can use frozen berries as long as no sugar is added.

He sure does! I do all the laundry which he hates for the three of us (we have a seven year-old son).

I feel that he does way more than I do and I tell him how much I appreciate it and I don't expect it. When I come home from work, he runs to the garage door to greet me and grabs all the stuff I'm carrying. He is a wonderful husband and father and it's not because he does those things, that's just an added bonus.:)

Thank you all for your replies.
