More die in the United States of too much food than of too little. ~John Kenneth Galbraith, The Affluent Society

This is so sadly true. In very many parts of the world, people die without enough food, or dirty water or contaminated cooking vessels. In the US and a few other spots of the world we die from eating too much.

Stuartly posted a message about his family and their reaction to him "Killing himself" with eating too much fat. We have been killing ourselves from eating too much of most everything, but probably not fat, unless it was breaded and deep fried.

There is a prepondurence of wrong information, we have the correct information, we are commonly known among our friends of eating low carb, gosh it is about so much more than that.

Something to think about today...eating the way we do to be healthy or get healthy or stay healthy, forget the interruptions of people who sadly don't understand or know, we can only change ourselves.

Have a great on program day!

Actually, lately , I've been on a high fat fiet and have lost 4 pounds on a high fat diet this month . A freind of mine was complaining about the way I eat and I told him I am changing to eating fat...all I can get... and a little meat if it happens to be there. He quit complaining. Shock value.

I simply think it can be explained by how well we feel. The positive effects of this WOL can not go unnoticed. I have been fortunate to never have been critized for eating this way and when I was not it did not take people long to figure out that I was off program.

The acne comes back, the mood swings and of course the weight. I have even had my kids who are very young say 'mom, I thought you were not eating bread anymore? Everyone notices and soon the people in Stuartlys life will also notice.

Bottom line, when I am happy and healthy so is everyone in my family!

Ps. just a little back ground, if you read this Stuartly. My gyno/obst suggested this WOE to me after my second child. So if some, or even one health care rep can be pro PP then it can not be that bad. I think he knew exactly what I needed to get control and he was not scared to tell me.....and he was absolutely right!!!

My chiropractor suggested this WOE, and he had done Atkins when it was first introduced back when he was in College. He still follows LC most days, allowing diversions on the weekends, and has brought his family up following that life plan.

I ate this way back in the seventies but I didn't know why. Now I do. I am lucky enough to have a doctor who is enlightened and really cares about his patients enough to intervene!

I do get tired of explaining the nuances of this WOE to mainstream dieters. :p

That's why I don't. I just tell them I am eating as much fat as possible and they are so surprized that they don't say anything more.
