"If one asks for success and prepares for failure, one will get the situation one has prepared for."

*Florence Scovel Shinn

I have a dear friend who is the world's biggest pessimist, or excuse maker I am not always sure. It's Wednesday and I will say are you coming to coffee on Saturday and she will say, oh I might not feel good. Say what? Well I was exposed to someone who was coughing a lot and if I come down with the flu bug, I won't be at coffee.

She prepares for a situation of doom and gloom on all fronts. She is not an overwieght person but has had trouble with hernias and minor aliments through her life. I believe she is one of those people who groom themselves for the worst, with her unfortunately she is never happy that she didn't get that flu bug becasue she is preparing for the next big disaster in her life.

If we ask for success, talk about success but prepare to fail then we have. If we talk about success, plan for it, encourage ourselves for the good things that come with hard work it is much easier to achieve and much sweeter tasting.

What are you going to do to plan for success today? Have a great day everyone!

Is it the same as when we fail to plan it is almost the same as planning to fail? Most people wouldn't consider that, but, if you don't have a goal in mind . . . how will you know if you've ever reached it?

Even if your only goal is to make the next meal "on plan" - that is a plan, and something you can celebrate as an accomplishment.

So, today, I will plan to have my meals on time, and on plan. I will not look at all the parts of myself that I don't particularly appreciate - but as a whole composite, and a work in progress. I will be an encourager, not someone who consistently degrades the efforts of others (I don't think I do this, but I want to make sure my words are chosen correctly, rather than just spouted "off the cuff"). I will get out an move, even if it is only walking the dogs (which is normal, but if that's all I get done, at least I've accomplished something).

I'm planning on being DYNOMITE.. I've lost 7 pounds so far in my quest to find out how many carbs I can tolorate. Which is very few.
I'm also planning on entering my first art fair. Just a small town one here, But it is the first time I have planned for one. I am trying to be confident about it. I think my work is good. I'm not planning on selling , just displaying and getting commissions on portraits. I will sell jewlery and maybe a few other things too. September 16 th.

Billie, that reminds me of the fact that whatever you focus your thoughts on, it grows bigger. If I can twist my mind away from negative thoughts, I'll see more of the good things. I live with a worry-wort, which doesn't help, but usually I'm a positive thinker.

Good luck at the art fair, Lynn. You are DYNOMITE, lady.
