HI, i'm Daisy

Just found this message board and thought i'd pop by, i have a question that someone may be able to help me with...

I'm in ketosis when i test myself in the mornings but if i test myself in the evenings instead i'm not... is this a problem?

thanks for any advice, i've been low carbing for a while now and lost the weight i want to lose, mainly now i'm just trying to get that fat % down and help my training routine cos i find it easier when i'm eating more protein.

Hello Daisy, welcome :).

Protein Power doesn't pay much attention to ketosis, so people here aren't likely to see it as a problem if you get variable results when you test.

One of the things that affects the readings on test sticks is how dilute your urine is. First thing in the morning, when you haven't had anything to drink all night, it will be more concentrated than in the evening when you've probably been drinking through the day. Drinking more water won't slow down your weight loss, of course, but could change the reading on your ketostix.

If you want to build muscle, then exercise (together with adequate protein) is important - especially resistance exercise. Why not join us in the weekly exercise thread in the Use It or Lose It section?

I'd not bother wasting any more money on those sticks, anyway.
Just keep doing what you've been doing, adding the exercise, and you'll get where you want to be.
