Could this WOE affect my temperature? I have not actually taken my temp the last few days, however throughout the day I have what feels like hot periods (I am only 33 so I do not think they are flashes).
Even if I am not exerting myself in anyway I will find myself sweating and my whole body feels warm, then after about 15 minutes it goes away.
I never experienced this when I did PP a few years ago. I have been feeling fine so I do not think it could be an infection or anything, and its not like having a fever anyway. Sorta puzzling??!!
I was sooooo hoping that it was my metabolism starting to rev up? However I have not yet added a regular exercise schedule to my daily routine yet. Any suggestions would be great:D

Actually it could be a million things but it very well could be your body and its response to thermogensis of eating and digesting protein and gobbling up that fat! Not a pretty picture, but actually it is.

Did you do PP in summer before or eat as much fat & protein? That may make your warmth more noticeable. Since I was always freezing before, the thermogenesis feels good to me. I sometimes notice a warmness within an hour of a fatty meal.

I usually run pretty cool (!), but I get overheated right after eating when I'm really low-carbing. I always presumed that was ketosis?

I don't take my body temperature, but I always feel quite a bit hotter when in ketosis.

Thanks I sorta was hoping thats what was happening. I guess I will just pay more attention as to when it happens.
Deirdra to answer your question the last time I did PP, I started in Sept and was true blue until the spring (May) By Christmas of that year I had lost 38lbs and I pretty much maintained that weight give a pound here or there until the following Sept when I became pregnant with my little princess.
Thanks for the input

I'm feeling hot too but honestly i thought it was just the weather (its been up and down but last few days actually summery), anyway i checked my ketones and i was high in them (must be all the fish) so maybe thats it and i just never noticed before, but that combined with thermogenis really could up your core temperature i guess without making you feel poorly:rolleyes:

I started back eating LC a couple of days ago and notice I would do the same thing Jackie. I thought I was having hot flashes but then again I could.

When my carbs drop below 45-50 for a couple of days running, I get hot flashes, but not as bad as when I was actually transitioning through menopause. But that's another reason I try to keep my carbs around 50. Mine primarily come at night, or at least that's when I notice them more.

My wife and I are new at this (2 weeks) and have experienced the "flashes" which seem to be easing up a little. But, the occasional fatigue is not. Does anyone have advice?

Welcome :). Sometimes it just takes a while to adjust. A common cause of fatigue in the early days is potassium depletion - are you taking potassium supplements?
I was reading in some low carb journal article last night and the scientist doing the review was saying that it took 2-3, perhaps 4 weeks to really transition to fat burning/ ketone based energy. Therefore it might take 4 weeks to really feel great and have good energy & endurance on a LC diet. Give it a while more and the fatigue will probably go away.
