Yeah...November.
It seems in some ways that 2006 has just flown by.
We've been through a lot of upheaval as a community in the past twelve months. Last September about this time I went on my annual camping-at-the-dog-show vacation--came home to a board that had been hacked and a community relocation to yahoo! groups. The new website opened on March 13th of this year. Some old faces found the community again, many new faces have joined in--and as a community, we're still one of the most supportive places on the 'net.
Through it all we've been growing and changing and challenging ourselves. Each month, the moderators put heads together, take a look at the poll answers and the recent posts and topics and build a challenge that we hope interests and inspires and motivates across everyone in the community. We've tried to aim challenges not just at beginners, or at maintainers, or at exercisers or at people who cook or people who don't--so challenges have incorporated something that could work for everyone in this very broad group. Based on the most recent poll, September focused on motivation, and based on current posts, Billie is already building a basics-focused challenge for October.
But come November, we'll be running into the holiday seasons again (or they'll be colliding with us!) We thought it would be fun for everyone to start now to design a November challenge that would keep us all charged up during that time of year that's often the most challenging.
The Community Challenge Design Challenge is everyone's chance to build a challenge for November, to kick off our commitment as we enter the most challenging time of the year. It only asks one question...but it's a big question...
If you were going to build a challenge for this group, what would YOU do?
What would you focus on?
What kind of participation would you incorporate?
How would you keep interest up all month long?
What elements would you include?
Help build a challenge for November, and make challenging ourselves all about YOU! Post your ideas and thoughts right here--everything and anything from requests for something specific to a fully fleshed out challenge is acceptable. The challenge design winner will get to run the November challenge.
If you need a reminder about what kinds of challenges worked for you (or didn't), here's a link to Challenges (http://www.proteinpower.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1396) we've had since last November.
I can already hear the wheels turning... ;)
