"Many people treat their bodies as if they were rented from Hertz-something they are using to get around in but nothing they genuinely care about understanding." Anonymous

Wow I thought good thing we are in for a lube and oil change for our bodies--not more "hertzing" for us!:D

This is so true, I mean think about it. We, people, others, didn't take the time to do the tune ups our body needed. Oh sometimes we might have gone for a yearly physical and beratted the doc because he had the audicity to say our BP, or our cholestrol or our weight was not what it should be. But we really didn't take time to do a good mechanics check. We were even fueling with unleaded (low fat) and staying away from the lubes (good fats).

Ah yes the analogy is silly perhaps but when I compared taking care of my body to the way rental cars are taken care of, for some reason the lights went on!

Hope your "car" is well taken care of today, it doesn't matter if it is a BIG SUV or a little bug, it is ours to take care of!

Have a great Sunday!

Billie - What a fun post and thoughts to start the day off with :D! Ironically, it's true. I think I spent years thinking I'd suddenly get a new model ;). Finally it dawned on me this was the only one I'd get - so I'd better tend to it rather than wait for a new version to come along :p.

Billie,
This is sooooooo funny, but true. And, I'm afraid, I've been hertzing around for too long after taking care of all my parts for two years!!! Why do we do the things we do when we know better????

This made me think of when I was growing up, my Grandma Smith always joked about going to a local auto body shop (which was named Smith's Body Shop) to replace her old worn out parts. She joked about how convenient it was for the Smith's in the area to be able to go and replace their parts when needed!!! If only it were sooooo simple, huh?

Well, I'm off to think about what all needs oiling and lubing and buffing and waxing.........this is gonna take a while, I fear!!! :D

Great, thought for the day! Glad I've stopped Hertzing around and am on a decent plan. Come to think of it, when we get to our goal weights and are in better health, isn't that sort of like " an overhaul?"

I'm off to do some "body repair" today.
Hugs,

Ohhh, I'd really like an "overhaul"...... :)

My question is, after years of running an engine on sugar, can running it on real gasoline REPAIR the 20+ years of damage? :o

Karen J absolutely it can, we have to be diligent and patient, I mean you don't overcome 20 years in 20 days or even maybe 20 weeks, but we can do it. And you know the other thought is what if we don't? We have to and the successes around here are plentiful so we know that it works.

:D That's why we need optimists like Billie around! I'd say we can undo some of the damage, but maybe not all of it. And even if you undo 20 years damage, you still won't be 20 years younger. I've obviously spent too many years writing scientific reports . But even if you can't be 20 years younger, you can feel lots better, and the improvements are well worth having.
