Hello, First post.

I read PPLP last week and realized I need a lot more protein in my diet.

I have spent the last year dealing with IBS and trying to eliminate all the foods that give me problems. I was finally getting it under control.

Last night, I added Whey Protein Isolate to my diet. This morning I spent the first four hours of the day on the toilet. This was my worst day ever.

I have been lactose intollerant for a while, but I had previously been fine with whey protein issolate.

I also had not eaten almonds or pumpkin seeds in a few days, but I had some last night.

Any thoughts? Should I avoid Whey protein?

Welcome, Diputs :).

If you have problems eating whey protein isolate, then you can manage PP perfectly well without any protein powder. I don't know if some versions might work better for you than others, but it probably isn't worth the suffering to find out. In PPLP, in the section about the purist approach, cross-flow microfiltered whey is mentioned as being less challenging to the immune system than other sorts, but I have no idea if it would be easier for you to tolerate.
