Hi everyone! Y'all look so friendly that I figured that it was (long past) time to de-lurk and admit that sometimes even introverted loner-types need people!

I almost didn't post, but was inspired by the ticker I created. Well, ya know, as long as "inspired" and "horrified" are synonyms... amazing how fast one teeny graphic can shove you from "it's not so bad" to "ohdeargod". Time to grow up and take responsibility for the results I get from my life. The twenties were easy to feel like a kid. Thirty-one is such a reality check!

I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone here. Thanks for reading!

Stormy- who's looking forward to seeing what her face really looks like...

Welcome! If you think 31 is a reality check - try 40! That is when I finally started to get my life together. Now I'm almost 46 - can't figure out that happened - and where the heck did all these gray hairs come from?? And where did my vision go??

Looking forward to seeing more of you around!

Gee, that's a swell offer but I think I'm hyperventilating enough with 31...;)

Thanks to everyone for such a warm welcome, and I'll see some of you over at the challenge!

Welcome, Stormy!

So, what KIND of a TREE? I'm partial to red maple - but old oaks are easier for me to hind behind, apples to hide in (only kind of tree I think I could still climb:rolleyes: ).

I'm thinking some kind of maple or oak... definitely nothing in the pines- sap, you know! Or, no! I've got it! European Mountain Ash. Bonus points for knowing it's common name and magical associations. :D

I know the "technical" and common names of some flowers, but trees, "out of my league". I do love them, though...

and definitely have an affinity for the magic of oaks:D .

If you're going to pick a pine, pick one growing in Alaska - I don't think they have much in the way of sap, 'cos they don't have much in the way of "scent".

Glad you are not peering anymore!

:D I'm glad to be 'out and about'! Although, I am leery of putting our avatars too close together- mine is a little "touchy". :p

Duh,
Rowan:rolleyes: How did I not guess it??? Mental drain lately:(

My avatar is a lamb in wolf's clothing:D

Your avatar looks something like mine, when he was 3 months old.
His name is Oi (pronounced Oy)
