I embraced the PPWOL back in the eatprotein.com era. And you know what - it worked. I lost fat, had more energy, looked better and my cholesterol dropped without meds.
Over the years I guess I got lazy and carbs crept back into my meals. Not to the levels pre-PP, but they are there.
I've created 3 steps to get me back to where I need to be:
Now: prepare, re-join the community, re-read the books, set goals, purge naughty foods
June 15: work better foods into my day and reduce the carbs, in other words pay attention! Keep on reading and re-learning
July 3: (my birthday) full on Protein Power for health and weight loss.
See you on my journey.

I'm Brand new here, what is the July challange?
I am trying to get back on track. I lost about 15 pounds on the protein power plan in November & have kept it off until just recently. It is slowly creeping back to the tune of 5 pounds regained! I need help....I need to lose about 30 more, not gain!
Any suggestions would be so appreciated! I'm trying to figure out the boards. Thanks, Kyleigh

Welcome, Kyleigh :). Each month we run a challenge to focus on some aspect of the plan. The last few months have all been variations of basically staying on plan, reporting in each day with how it's going, and cheering each other along. Sometimes there's a little extra something to add interest. The July one hasn't been announced yet (or written!) but if you look in the Challenges section of the board, you can see what's going on in June, and join in if it appeals to you :).

Thank you! However June is my own personal challenge, to get myself ready for this. July when I am all-in, you'll see me in the Forum challenge.

Hellow fluffy....
How strange.......I am just returning....today actually (6/12/) and I am from the old eatprotein era!!!
I hung out at the low carb friends board for awhile.....but it can get real rough over there. They have some moderators with real attitudes, sorry if that upsets anyone, but they do!!!
I am back here now.......there is more activity at the other board, but way to many attitudes. Things are nice here and I really have to get serious about this again....this is the place to be.

Welcome back, all! Very strange how we all decided to poke our heads in here this week... I have been thinking about going back to the basics and doing this detox for 4 months now, but I didn't have the guts to do it until just this week. I actually decided last week that Monday was going to be my start day, in order to prepare myself psychologically. You know, it really sucks how there is a homemade ice cream place/dairy farm 3 blocks from where I am now living. At least I had some last week! Yeah, I know, it's not about what you *can't* have, but what you *can* have, and whath the benefits will be. I'm on day 2, so life is still sucking.
Cheers!

I'm new here also, but can tell you that I made the switch 9 months ago and I'm just astounded by the changes over those 9 months.

* waves hi * to everyone who has decided to try this again. I'm curious, do you feel more committed this time 'round? I know I do, hence my countdown and personal official start date.
Yesterday I bought an inexpensive scale. I want to be sure I am getting my 80g of protein. Last time I guess-timated portion sizes.

<slinks in, waves at old eatprotein era peeps> I was CityGirl back then.
I've lately been coming to terms with the fact that I have a binge eating disorder. People who are trying to get binge eating under control aren't supposed to diet. But the only time I've ever felt in control of my eating (totally and completely) was back when I was doing PP really strong. I even remember making posts about how odd it felt to be in control.
Anyway, here I am, trying to stay focused on eating right.

Hey, all you re-noobs, how are you doing?
I had a good week, I'm not down in Phase I territory with the carbs, but I had a good loss for the week and managed to get in a couple of workouts.
I also did some more research in to binge eating disorders, and it really didn't sound like me at all. Not all binge eating is a "disorder". After some further navel gazing (so to speak), I linked mine up with my ADD -- it's an impulse control problem. Since I'm on a new med that's helping with that, I've suddenly noticed the binge eating disappear. Yay!
I'm another re-noob from way back. It's nice to see everyone. The stars must have aligned just perfectly for so many of us to check back here at the same time.
I'm vowing to get strict again, not that I've completely gone crazy to begin with! PCOS and insulin resistance create additional challenges for me, so I have to stay strict to maintain and VERY strict to lose. I need to lose 25-30 lbs that I've gained back since 2000.
As I posted on the PCOS thread, for me it's all about "making" and "taking" time. When I get lazy about food choices and exercise, I pay the price in both added pounds and also in the way I feel.
So, I'm back to it even if I don't lose one pound (which is entirely possible).
