Hi Guys,

In short, I'm starting a new program that is intense today and I'm having trouble. It is 1:15pm and I am starting to get hungry, but I have no food. I am trying desperately to finish a paper and I do not want to take a long enough break to get food [about 40 min].

I am doing a thorough body cleanse, in short, which requires that I only eat veggies [organic], lean meats, fish, chicken [grass fed/free range], and water. NO CAFFEINE. I am under a lot of stress in my professional life right now and I can't seem to get organized at all, so it's like.. I knwo this is the best thing to do [carbs, caffeine, etc., make stress much worse], adn I'm working with a doctor on this one [she's been begging me to do this for 6 months]. I am also using Standard Process supplements to help with sleep and calming. I need to pick shakes up from her ASAP, I realize, because I have none and I think that would REALLY help me right now.

Anyways, I just needed to rant about how grumpy I feel right now because I CAN'T HAVE A COOKIE or at least a diet coke!!! BUT, I know it will only feel this way temporarily and we're going for long term benefits and less stress in my life and more efficiency!!!

Please shoot me. !

Hi BlueRiverSam -

We don't shoot people here, only encourage.

Hang in there. Taking the break might help, though. Yet, I don't know your time schedule. Getting hungry often just sabotoges us.

Welcome to the boards. I look forward to hearing more from you!

I'd shoot you,
but only with a water gun...or maybe one of those BIG water guns!!

That would be fun...think of the frustration we could get out using the BIG SUPER SOAKERS on days like today! (it's 90 degrees again here in Minnesota-hit 80 at 9:30am)!!

...oh to be a kid again....:(

Thanks guys :)

I made it a few more hours, YAY! I couldn't work because my stomach was growling, so I went to the campus store and all they had that I could eat was sunflower seeds, so I got them. Now I feel much better. Also got another bottle of water, which is now gone.

I am soooo wicked tired. I forgot to take any potassium today!!! I slightly pulled a hamstring in yoga this morning, too, but not a big deal. *shrug* now it is all coming back to me :)

Cheers!
Samantha

Hi sam,

Couple things:
1- David Allen, Getting Things Done. Best book on personal productivity I have ever read. Might help with the work stress.

2- Caffeine Free Diet Coke. It can be your friend.

Good luck.

Thanks for the replies and offers to shoot me :)

I made it through yesterday, no caffeine, but I did have one diet coke without caffeine. I could not function or even drive because my headache was so bad today, so I grabbed a small coffee on the way, and put some half and half in it, too, with some equal :P

I had eggs for breakfast with my man [he loves my new diet and cooking, BTW...! except he had a cookie for dessert--one of the ones I baked for him last week!], and then about 1.5 hours into my day, at around 10:30, I got hungry... so, I went to the grocery store and bought soy cheese, soy deli meats, organic berries and celery and more sunflower seeds. This all cost $30!!! I hope it lasts at least until Friday!
