I am on the road 2 or 3 weeks each month. So, I eat at a ton of restaraunts. Typically, I shy away from fast food due to either no options or little knowledge of what options are available. I'm tiring of long and expensive meals and I am tired of salads. I'd like to be able to grab a quick bite every once and a while.

I recently made a post (http://proteinpower.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2968) here when I discovered Panera Bread's low carb options. I have eaten at Panera 3 times this week. I very interested in hearing what other restaraunts you have found to be carb friendly expecially if quick and not overly expensive.

Cracker Barrel has low carb selections. And...even though I don't care to make a habbit of it...but you can ask for your sandwich at say McDonalds to come without the bun...and they serve it up rather attractively. I just get a "double" with cheese...and make sure to ask for a fork and knife. Heck, I don't have difficulting asking for a bunless hamburger anywhere we go...and these days it seems that it's not an unusual request. I like to think in terms of no place being restricted. But, I do know what you mean. Remember "wings" are generally a good choice...if not breaded, of course.

Hardee's has a Low Carb Thickburger - basically meat/cheese wrapped in lettuce with typical burger toppings.

Wendy's is always willing to serve without the bun, and can substitute fruit or salad for fries on a combo.

As Missy said, Cracker Barrell has a designated low carb section. Any place that serves breakfast you can get eggs.

Yes it can be limiting at times - DH has gotten to the "can you eat there" with me now. I was thrilled to see your post about Panera, nice to go to a sandwich place and stay on plan. :)

Good luck!

Fresnos, Ruby Tuesdays and Tully's all have low carb options. In fact, even Friendlys has a few items that work on plan.

I look for a non-breaded meat sandwich, like steak or philly cheese melt, or chicken breast. Order it without the bun. Sub fries for salad or ask if they have any kind of veggies (some do). I also look at the sides, mushrooms, spinach, sometimes other veg show up there.

Mexican places that serve fajitas are great too, just don't use the burrito shells.

Good luck!

Hardee's (Carl Jrs where I am) will do any of their burgers that way. I like to get the bun-less Guacamole Bacon Burger and a side salad when I go there.

Burger King will put any of their burgers bun-less in a plastic dish. Their Angus Burger with a side salad is pretty filling.
