I'm surprised at this.

Sunflower seeds
1/4 cup
4gm carb
2gm fiber
2gm ECC
190 cal

This looks to be a great snack! A 1/4 cup serving is a LOT of seeds!

I recently bought "trail mix" from Wal-mart. The one I got was pretty tasty but the carb count was higher than I wanted. I think it was 20gm carb and 10gm fiber for 10gm ECC per 1/4 cup. But it has cherries and raisins, so, that's why it's that high. It also has a Chinese seed, don't recall the name and sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and a generous amount of almonds.

I knew walnuts and almonds were good low-carb snacks. Sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds look good, too?

Most seeds/nuts are artificially salty and I guess it helps my chip addiction. I like seeds and nuts.

Seeds and nuts are great because they are easy to take with you. I go to Costco's baking section and buy big bags of un-salted, un-roasted nuts. They keep well in the fridge.

I know PP is not about counting calories, but watch your portion sizes, the calories can really add up and depending on each person's situation that may not be ideal.

Back in the marketing heyday of LC, there were some flavored pumpkin seeds that I got once. I didn't care for them, but my ex liked them. I dunno if they can still be found. I'd look on netrition if you're interested. I think they were low sodium and unsugared.

I think you could make these yourself pretty easily. Take pumpkin seeds, toss them in butter and davinci sf syrup, and roast. My mom used to make pumpkin seeds (butter and salt) every year. You could add garlic powder or chili powder or other spices too.

Yeah. It's a shame I wasn't a bigger fan of them. I got two bags and my ex-gf wound up eating them, I think. They might've sat in the back of my car until I returned it to the leasing company.
