View Full Version : I don't feel too good on the plan
I am a returning low carber. It worked the plan for 2 years and it worked great, my Mom died and now 4 years later I am finally ready to do it again. I started on her birthday the 18th of May and have lost 12 lbs. I am happy about the weight loss but feel kinda sick to my stomach and sluggish. I was wondering if anyone else felt this way and if may I was missing something in the program?
Thanks
Lyn
Wecome Lyn, At first I did feel that way and when I work out HARD I do. I drink alot more water and make sure I am taking my potassium and other suppliments. I also swtiched to 6 small meals a day instead of three and include cottage cheese for one. Somehow it keeps me from being hungry.

Welcome, Lyn :).
Why don't you tell us what you're eating, and see if anybody has any ideas? Are you doing anything differently this time, compared with four years ago?
I limit my carbs to 30 per day (EEC). I have almonds (15ish) and water, then later in the am have protein (egg or turkey or sausage or other meat) for lunch I have either a sandwich with low carb bread and sliced meat or a salad with protein. Mid afternoon I have sugar free jello with cottage cheese or strawberries and for dinner I have protein and a vegetable or salad. I drink bought 10 glasses of water a day and 3 diet sodas. I do not take supplements and did not last time. The only real difference is that I ate alot more fat last time. Lots of cheese and bacon.
Thanks

If you're still losing weight at something like 3 lbs per week, then maybe that's just a bit too fast for your body. Maybe eating a little more fat and accepting a slower rate of loss would feel better?

Your not showing what your total protein count is, but it seems like you are not eating enough calories. Protein only has 4 calories per gram. So if you are getting 30 ECC, that is 120 cal. If you are getting 100 grams of prot, then that is 400 cal, so only 520 total. The rest has to be made up from fat at 9 cal per gram. I know that on this plan, we don't really watch calories too much, but too few calories is not a good for a person.
Looking at my almond can a serving has approx 29 pieces with 3 ecc and 6 g of protein. Your 15 almonds has less than that.
Thanks for the advise, I will try writing down the food to make sure I am getting enough calories.
