Hi, sometimes I want to use a shake as a fast meal replacement and most of them have about 20-25 gms of protein in them in 2 scoops. So, if I need 40 at a meal, what could I add to the shake without making it impossible to drink?

BTW,I already add a little healthy oil and either almond milk or cream .

Thank you!

The one I have (though I use it so rarely it's probably out of date ) is 16g protein per scoop, so it might be worth looking around to see if you can find something a bit higher. You could add nuts, nut butters, cottage cheese, ricotta, or egg (if you don't mind the idea of eating raw eggs) to get you a bit more protein.

I usually use a low carb Protein powder that measures in at 25/scoop. I have used the 40 grams of protein/scoop powders which work fine but are a little more pricey and not available at Cosco or general stores.

I find that I do like my shakes thick and generally add soluble fiber or a touch of xanthum gum to give it more body. Adding ice to the blender gives a thicker shake than just water as well.

Most whey protein powders are between 18 and 25g protein per scoop. I mix mine with 4 oz. of plain kefir, which is another 7g protein, and 1/4 cup of ricotta, which is another 7g protein.

I use Isopure Low Carb Chocolate, which is 25g protein per scoop. Adding in the kefir and the ricotta, a shot of half and half and thinning it to desired consistency with cold coffee, I've got a shake with 39g protein...but you could always put in a little more protein powder to get up to 40g. My shake also has aroudn 10g ECC...but since it's a meal replacement, and it's not intended to be zero carb, that works for me. You could always use vanilla Isopure, which is I believe only 1g ECC per scoop to reduce the carbs per shake to under 7gECC.

Hope that helps.

Thanks everyone. :)The Walker shake mix I use is 24 gms per serving for 2 scoops, the Designer Whey is one big scoop and it's 19, I believe.

Personally, I like it thick or sometimes whip it to make it like a pudding instead of a shake.

Hi, thanks, sometimes I DO mix the DW chocolate with peanut butter and a little cream and make it pudding-y (is that a word?). Great dessert:)
