Who could hang a name on you?

No one, that's who. As we wrap up the challenge and look forward to a month with an experienced (and likely more attentive) moderator/challenge leader, We want to finish strong. Those who are in the running for the prize, clearly have incentive. But if you haven't met the admittedly high standard for prizes, maybe you can give yourself your own parting gift from this challenge, and finish with 5 days of 100%. That's my goal. It's going to be tough. We're moving out of our apartment tomorrow, and back in on Friday or Saturday, after they rip up the floor and kill the bugs where they breed. I'm happy, but annoyed that I have to be displaced. But, in the grand scheme of things, if this is the worst, I'm doing pretty well.

Hugs to those what need em. Smiles at everyone else. Everyone gets the command to:

Rock on!

100% for 5 days???

Count on it.:)

On my second IF day since returning. Under 40 for the day and meeting my protein minimum.

Here is some humor for the day. If she serves it on low carb bread it is still on plan.

Martha Stewart of the Backwoods (http://break.com/index/martha-stewart-for-rednecks.html), a different kind of sandwich meat.

Yes for yesterday.

I even rode my bike with a cushy pillow at the back. My back is still sore and tender where the epidural was. Daily my foot gets less and less painful. I am walking somewhat normal. I try to move as much as possible. I worked yesterday and will today.

I have not had a "no" day yet. Pain meds take away my appitite , so maybe that's cheating. The LYRICA is sitting here and I refuse to take it. I made me gain 30 pounds in 30 days last time. He gave it to me to take and then said..."if you don't feel you need it, don't take it..I just don't want you on narcotics."

When it gets really bad I take codine. Otherwize just asprin.
Daily it gets better. My leg is at least warm. The epidural blocked the sympathetic nerves and it was like opening a dam.

Hawk, you're in the hugs category. I need a pinup poster of you, with some motivational stuff underneath. That's selling you short. But something like this:

Ottawa: My MIL has eaten squirrel. Actually, a lot of folks on wife's mom's side have. Wife brings it up and I do the Dueling Banjos from Deliverance. She laughs, then punches me in the arm. Good times.

Amy: You and me both.

Afternoon, everyone!

(((Hawk)))

I'd try squirrel, but have never "sought" it out.

Having a great day today. I don't know why, so I'm going with the flow.
Max, I tried your "How Can I Help" and I think it went well.

Got oodles done at work today and plan to get more done.
And, I was super productive last night - so I went to sleep feeling good.

I do have a headache, though, it's been in the back of my head, just above my nape... haven't taken anything for it.

Breakfsat was my eggs, lunch I had a choice (love having good choices) - tuna salad left over from the large serving I made yesterday or a pork cutlet. I decided on the tuna and ate the remains of the salad dh put out yesterday, too. I couldn't leave it the tuna for another day and couldn't give it to the dog - it has some onion in it. Pork I can either munch on this afternoon as a snack, or save it for lunch tomorrow.

Later!

My gosh, I can't believe It took me this long to get online today! Blame it on the business lunch. I hate eating and doing business at the same time. I'd rather enjoy my meals.

Heading out to get groceries on my way home. Yesterday my leg muscles were as tight as ropes. I had a muscle session with the doctor last night and today I'm walking comfortably. Go figure! Why does it come back??? He wants me to take Flexeril and I guess I will, but it knocks me out.

Hawk, I'm just thrilled that you're making progress with your leg!

Max, you have been an awesome mod this month. Thank you so much for all your hard work!

I think dinner will be beef tips in some fashion. I'll make rice for the boys.

Randy, my work computer wouldn't go to your link, but I assume someone cooked a squirrel? Being married to a hunter and woods-walker, I have had the opportunity to cook up a few squirrels. I stew them with carrots and taters and gravy. They're a mild meat.

Eating squirrels... yikes! I'm sure my ancestors did, having grown up in Pennysylvania where my roots go back many generations and people hung out in the woods. Would I ever eat it? I'd have to be pretty hungry. Starving, actually. What a hypocrite... I'll eat beef and chicken and fish but not squirrel.

I am opting for today to be one of my two non-exercise days for the week. I just got back from an appt, have several hours of work to do, and I just don't feel like it. So why do I feel guilty?

My food is on track today and I am thankful for that.

Hope everyone continues to have a good day. Glad to her you turned a little corner Hawk.

Going in to work now and will not feel guilty for not working out.

Just have a few moments to report and get a yes in for the day. I've got to get ready for the line dancing lessons so this won't be to long. Glad everyone seems to be having a good day, that's great.

Protein 124 ecc 25 and check with you fine people tomorrow.

Karole,

enjoy your line dancing!
I love line dancing - actually I love any kind of dancing:D
but line dancing is fun, 'cos I don't have to worry about anyone wanting to lead me - I don't follow well;)

Had most of the pork cutlet for an afternoon snack. Having a little something, I've found, keeps me from that starving, got to have anything, mode.

We just got back from walking and dh is cooking (strip steaks?), salad, and some green veggie (almost all we have except cauliflower).

The afternoon was as productive as the morning. Finished another project, and almost done with 2 more:D:D

Carol,
The woman taught her son to shoot a squirrel and then made it up as sandwich meat. In teh future, I'll try to post videos on a private site so the filters at work don't block them.

YES for the food and the exercise (pushups, planks, situps and curls with new handweights).

Total: 1355
Fat: 74
Carbs: 32 - 12 = 20

Passed on breakfast and lunch but a large dinner tonight. My wife is going out and I went with loads of leftovers.
1 can of Sardines, 1/4 pound burger patty, 1 chicken breast, large serving of broccolli, 3 LC flatbreads/rollups, nuked with 4 TBS PB/Almond butter and 2 oz. SF syrup.
Loads of water, vitamins and minerals.

It's funny what one will eat and will not eat. I watch Anthony Bourdain tuck into some pretty exotic foods on TV with my lips firmly sealed. I will not watch Andrew Zimmern. It's all what you get used to, I guess. I need to know what part of the body the meat comes from and I won't do raw meat.

Randy, I was able to get your video on my home machine; it isn't as paranoid as the school district network!

I have a NO for today. My business luncheon was a hastily munched salad with sugar everywhere. Three slices of chicken, each the size of a poker chip. I'd have been better off with the turkey wrap. Anyway, I snacked on a bagel later. My dinner will be pork sirloin without the rice and corn sides.

It's late, but I'm going to get the step out and put the music on.

Eating squirrel is a round about way to get your nuts. The squirrels around here are constantly eating and storing the walnuts. I have eaten it. My grandfather and cousins hunted on thanksgiving morning and would bring them in and cook them. Had to watch so you did not break a tooth on the buckshot. We don't do banjos...(husband can play the dueling banjos though)husband does not hunt, but I grew up hunting and have eaten my share of most everything you can think of. Like a hawk..

snake, squirrel, raccoon, deer, frog legs, fish, snails, crawdads, turtle, pheasant, wild boar, big horn sheep, quail, bear, buffalo, wild turkey, goat,
who knows what else. My father had testosterone for brains. He hunted every season. We even hunted mushrooms.

Max..you really bolster my resolve. I thank you for the poster. I want to hug you back too. You need to realize that you have halped me stay posative and this challenge has kept me from going astray to feel sorry for myself and have a carb fest and turn into a tub of lard.
At first the realization that I have RSD starting all over in a new place and will have to fight myself and the pain to keep my leg was very hard to think about. The pain becomes so dense that I can barely think about anything else. I have to force my mind to work. It even makes me stutter when I talk. Being upset only makes the sympathetic nerves act worse.
Tomorrow is Wednesday. A weight lifting day. Hold me to it. I need to go do upper body. I think the epidural should be healed enough. No crunches yet. The pain just radiates around the spot. I just don;t remember that the epidural hurt like this 7 years ago.

Carol, your legs have pain too.(((hugs))) to you too.

Amy, Annienan..thanks.

Randy. Smiling at your link. Next challenge should be to find something to laugh at evey day! Randy..... Randy....

Thanks for the hugs, darlin'. You are an inspiration to me and to everyone. If you can work through it, so can I. You WILL overcome this RSD too. You are an amazing woman.

BTW, DH hunts squirrels with a .22 so there's no buckshot issue. I hate buckshot! :p

I stayed a YES! :D

It was almost a close call. DH went on the 'puter after dinner and I was on a mental scavenger hunt through the kitchen:eek:. Luckily, nothing to find;).
It passed after 10 minutes - better yet!

DD came in around 9 and had cookies with her, and dh thought he was cute and waved one under my nose - I yelled SABOTEUR at him, but wasn't tempted:D

I'll try most meats once, I am more about texture than the name of something. For instance, I can't eat tripe or clams/oysters/mussels or mushrooms. Unless they're in very small bites, I feel like I'm chewing too much.

I was a yes...but was hungry all day long!!!

It must have been the day. I was famished just prior to dinner and that is rare for me. The IF rarely leaves me that way and it ended up that I ate less than I thought I would but just needed something.

I read yesterday that INsulin is the trigger for hunger but since I should not have had an Insulin release the body must have a secondary trigger.

Hawk ... here is your clip for the day ...
http://www.lastoutpost.com/images/Redmeat_Overweight2.JPG

There are still days I feel a little like Ted.

I'm back to my pre-trip weight and last nights workouts included handweights (25's) for curls that are now to easy and I need to look for something bigger. Up here hand weights sell by teh pound (or close to it) and there is no way I'm paying $70 for a set of 35's.
WI have a scrap metal place that I might chect for steel bar stock which is much cheaper and pick up a 3" bar a few feet long that would do it.
