I'm heading out in a few minutes but wanted my daily in and thought back to the theme of "being true to yourself".
Once in the mindset/habit/pattern of working on bettering yourself through better choices/actions the road just gets smoother and straighter, day by day, inch by inch. Speech on Inches and working together as a team. (http://www.lastoutpost.com/Music/Al Pacino- Inches Speech.mp3)
Is your road smoother? Are you committed?
Today will be a YES.

Hi, Randy, great thoughts.
Today, I will be busy unpacking at the new house, I am rather excited about it. Getting things set up, arranged, etc. It feels great to be setting up with oh, so much less stuff.
Today, I will be back on plan as I detoured alittle yesterday with the desert at my birthday dinner.
Will try to check in later.
Continuing to be true to myself and making those better choices to reach my goal.

Today will be on plan, today...a cinnamon hazelnut mocha shake for breakfast, a roasted turkey salad made for lunch and a cioppino with tilapia and scallops and some summer veggies that are overwhelming my garden.
The weather is so glorious that I am sooo tempted to hitch up the trailer and take off for a small state park I found last weekend (had no idea it was less than half an hour from my house!). I also have a ton of fall chores to do, but most state parks close to camping after October 12, so if I'm going to get a last trip in, it will have to be this weekend. Fall chores don't have that kind of immediate deadline. ;)
I'm probably going to compromise...take an overnight to the park and then come home early and work outside tomorrow afternoon.
What has everyone else got planned for this weekend?

Today new puppy owners are comming to see their puppy, now 4 weeks old. When they will come is a mystery as they did not share that with me. It is so cold and I am not yet used to freezing weather, I will have to wait till this afternoon to do any fall chores like mowing up the leaves into compost before it snows. Sure does feel like snow this morning. When to eat and what to eat sort of depends upon the puppy people but there are things in the house that can either become a salad or go in the microwave at a moment's notice. This is going to be a "yes" day.
Good morning. Tom happened last night. Thought I was through with all that. Now I know where the intense cravings came from for sugar. In the past I would know by the calendar and remind myself. NoXcuse but being broadsided didn't help me.
This morning at 3:30 my leg woke me up. The intense ache would not go away with doing ankle excersizes off the edge of the bed. So at 4 I finially got up, let Gus out and then Gus and I went down stairs. The first 10 minutes went as ussual with intense pain. I concentrated on my breathing and went through the first three intervals. Then all the sudden the pain began to change to my thighs and glutes. When the 20 minutes was up, my calves were pulsing. I could feel the blood pulsing. No more pain. Warm. I went back up to bed and slept till 11 am. As soon as I get out of the shower I am headed out to get greens and colorful salad stuff. I don't know what I would do without my recumbant bike. We have such a love hate relationship.
Today will be a yes day...I can FEEL it happening!

It still feels like morning because I slept so late today. It's such a joy to have a putter day. Nowhere to go, I'm just picking up some clutter and sorting out paperwork that accumulates on every lateral surface. I spent at least fifteen minutes on the phone waiting for customer service and finally left them a one-sentence message on line. Ridiculous!
I've got a pot roast done and am waiting for the ground meat to come to room temp so I can mix it with my hands. I forgot to take it out of the fridge earlier and my hands were numb to the bone when I started mixing.
We have a friend in England whose son is being shipped out to Afghanistan in a sniper group and has asked us where he can find American armor to send with him because the British vest is inadequate. DH networked and found a supplier, so now I have to go look it up. Ah, war!
Hot and humid again today. I'm staying inside with the A/C.

Happy Belated Birthday, Claudette :D!
Pat - I think you should grab the chance to go to the park while you can ! As we all know, the chores will always be there when you get around to doing them ...
Randy - I was true to myself by making today a yes day :). I had planned on doing outside work but since it was either raining or snowing all day, that got put to the wayside . But I did cook up a roast and chicken breast for the freezer. I also got my meals planned/prep done for next week's meals. So not too shabby a day ;).
And greetings to the rest of you diligent campers here this Saturday :D!

Got back late from AC, ran errands with DD,
It was a NO day so far, but the rest of today will be a YES, nonetheless;)

Hi! I did a roast, too, Shadow. Put half in the freezer and sliced the rest for eating now. I made a meatloaf and cut it into single servings for the freezer, too. Now I won't be going to work without breakfast if I don't have time to make a shake this week.
It's just as well I didn't plan anything serious for today because it probably wouldn't have happened. I talked to my sister on the phone for almost an hour and a family friend dropped in on us! I let him and the Geezer gab for two hours while I leafed through the Lands End catalog and I've at least got an order to show for the time. I need new clothes very badly and I've been putting it off.
It was a NO day so far, but the rest of today will be a YES, nonetheless;)
Good attitude, Agnes! It doesn't help to wait until morning, or Monday, or January first! If we just get back at it, that's being true to ourselves.
That is such a great idea Carol.. I ran out and bought some ground sirlion to make meet loaf too.
The grandblessings are here. G'man took our 12 yr old grandaughter out to find stuff to build a rubber band propelled car for science.
The other three are watching spiderman.
yes for today!

well...no camping for me today. The back started to act up when I started putting stuff in the truck, and it's just too unreliable to go camping by myself if the disc is going to act up. Good I got in all of my protein between my morning shake and my lunch, because I took half a Lyrica to try to get ahead of the pain and slept most of the afternoon.
Sometimes, even when you're in the groove and have been there a looong time, it's still hard.
I woke up in time to catch the tail end of the movie "Fly Away Home," about the 14 y.o. who helps an abandoned flock of geese migrate south by learning to fly an ultralight and modeling the migration behavior so that they follow her. If she can do that, I can do this. I think. Today is a YES. :)

Gaelen, hope you're feeling better.
Today was a yes. I met all of my goals.
Breakfast was a sausage/cheese casserole.
Midmorning--mocha shake
Lunch--ham salad/cheese wrap
Supper--iceberg lettuce/blue cheese/chopped tomato; chicken breast/cheese/a bit of tomato
Snack--RTD Isopure protein drink/a bite of cheese/2 squares 85% Lindt
I located a 20-minute resistance band chair workout that I'm going to try. I did 10 minutes today, but not with any real direction. With my weight, I have to be very careful of my knees and ankles. That's going to get better, but for now, I think this will work. It's a YouTube video produced by SparkPeople and seems to be exactly what I need for now.
A great Saturday--I actually had some time to myself to just relax.

Bummer, Pat. I hope you feel better today!
Ruth, I checked out the video and another one called office or desk exercises and I am going to try to make use of them. I have a resistance band in my desk drawer that's been gathering dust. (Don't read that, Shadow!)
I'll take a yes for Saturday.

I pulled a yes on this day. Recommitting (again). Think I am mentally in the groove, but we'll see.

Hi everyone--
It's Monday morning and so after the fact... but i did want to honor my committment of checking in everyday. I am still out of town and was unable to get online until I got back home very later yesterday, too late to go online.
I did keep my food and exercise plan all weekend, except for maybe Saturday when I might not have eaten enough protein. I'll have to add that up.
But YES for Oct 6th... with the proviso that I would have checked in with you if I could!)
