If anyone has an opinion, advise.

If you had heart disease, what supplements would you take? Any special foods you would make sure you eat?

Over the past 20 years, I have been a supplement junkie from time to time and occasionally, I'd just chuck it all and back off. You can read this and that about this and that and it sure sounds convincing but 20 years of reading have shown me very little seems really certain.

Every time I'd get on something, like magnesium, then later, I'd read that too much might hurt me (regarding heart disease.) Same for folic acid, arginine, potassium, policosanol, etc.

And anti-oxidants. Dr. Mike does not buy into mega anti-oxidants. I would put that near the top were it not for his opinion.

I wonder if the inflammation theory of heart disease is still gaining ground. And what one can take for that. I think Dr. Mike says curcumin?

Also still wonder if he still takes krill oil.

I wish I could pick his brain, I want live to old age!

For many months now, I reduced my supplements to only a quality multi vitamin / mineral and fish oil. I am on no drugs at all, just a daily baby aspirin. It seems cholesterol may not be the thing and mine wasn't high anyway -- I think it was 170 when I had my heart attack.

What would you do?

Songwriter,
I'm with you. I've also been up and down with supplements and wonder what other people take.

Not in the way of suppliments but relating to heart health, you may want to check out the following links. Prior to a recent surgery I hit 200 twice fr my systolic blood pressure. Post surgey it dropped to 135-140. After IFing 4 weeks it dropped to 114 and the doctor was amazed.
None of these links pertain directly to heart attacks. They do list benefits of lowered Blood Pressure and Reduced Inflammation by going to Intermittent Fasting as well as an improved lipid profile.

Dr Mike Eades blog post on IF (http://www.proteinpower.com/drmike/?p=278)
Dr Mike's second blog post on IF (http://www.proteinpower.com/drmike/?p=279) <-- lots of questions answered
Art De Vany on IF (http://www.arthurdevany.com/2006/12/intermittent_fa_2.html)

I get my blood work done at the end of this month but my BP is now 114/82, my morning Blood Glucose is down 10%, and my workouts are a little easier since my digestive load (and body temp while working out) is down.
