On track and had great B/G readings. Cleaned the whole house last night and had a great dinner.

What else can I do to make this day special?
What are you doing?

I am going to try out a aqua-class at the local gym - just sounds fun. I am also going to have a yes day. Lunch is a turkey salad and Tomatoes. I am already wanting to eat it!

You all are awesome. Thank you.

What else can I do to make this day special?

I'm going to call my mother and wish her a Happy Birthday.
I'm going to take a lunch break...I mean actually STOP working, move to a different spot other than my desk, and enjoy my lunch.

What are you doing?

I'm going to make a list of work tasks and not stop until they have been completed. I'm going to REMEMBER that I have a list, and just work until it's done.
I'm going to the tanning bed tonight. The sun has not been shining in a couple days and I'm feeling blue and a bit depressed, so I'm going to sit under the hot "sun" and brighten my day.
I will lift my arm weights before bed. I have been "forgetting" to do this, but I will do it today.

Something is wrong. I feel a little off. Sense of taste is off, I think. Just had ham and it didn't taste bad, but it didn't taste like my memory of ham. Same thing with last night's pork chops. Plus, am hungry and a little cool. Most importantly, DW asked me last night what was wrong, because I haven't been myself lately. I am unsure what is wrong, but maybe that's something to do, to figure out what is wrong. It's very subtle.

Something else I'm doing: Looking into outsourcing. I've been on and off about treating myself like a corporation, but mostly, I tend to think of me as Max, Inc. I was kind of randomly tooling around Amazon (Good Calories, Bad Calories was up to #27 on their best seller list) and found a book called the 4 hour work week. Haven't bought it yet (got my 30% borders coupon just today), but found a 5 minute youtube of the author and one thing that made a lot of sense (who knew this existed) was personal outsourcing. So, looking to contract a task that I can outsource (researching and applying for jobs) to someone who can probably do it better and devote time to it. GetFriday.com allows you to hire people in India to do all sorts of work for you. Even with the weak dollar, you can get huge benefits in terms of exchange rate (actually, that's untrue, it's purchase power/cost of living, not exchange rate, but it's a for-ex advantage). Will report on how this is going, but early reports feel good. Doing more research on this.

How to make it special? I biked my sprints with my eyes closed for large portions. If you listen to music, it is amazing what reducing your sensory input by one channel can do to your appreciation of the others. If I could do the intervals without looking at a timer, I might get a blindfold or something.

I just gots to know.

I'll bet you are going to do an extra tough workout. <- Run cursor over this line.

Max....sorry your feeling out of sorts! Darn it all.

What about taping a cover over the numbers on the bike? No...never mind, I could see how blindfolding can block out everything which would make it interesting. I'm curious as to, if you do it, what you discover.

I am blessed to have my recumbant. It is computerized. I set up the intervals and then don't need to look.
I understand about sensory input. When I run sound...many times I close my eyes and listen so I can "hear" each instrument and make sure they are all equal in volume. It is a proven fact that not seeing helps you hear better.
Today, I am going to make the day special by organizing my sewing room and making it look awesome. Then my grandaughter is coming over and we are cutting out a mermaid costume and sewing it.
I am on plan so far.

I was on target yesterday and am on target today. What am I going to do to make today special? I have alpaca to card, my granddaughter's jumper to finish, and lots of other fiber. I will have some, as my daughter would say "me time" and play with the fiber.

I have made Thursday special by:

baking a quiche (which also makes Friday special - don't have to cook dh's breakfast tomorrow;))

wearing heels and a costume jewelry necklace - yes, nothing like aching toes to make you feel "special":D

did NOT procrastinate on a couple of work chores - got them done, done, done

cleared off my desk

having a meaningful, interesting, and completely perfect conversation with dd

AND - I'm halfway through having my 3rd on plan day in a row -
THREEPEAT!

I am going to make today special by finishing my work early and going home to be with my husband. I work Monday through Wednesday in the evening and have been staying at school late on Thursday and Friday to get ready for the next week. Tonight--nope--it's home I go at a reasonable hour for a change!

Max, hope you're feeling a little more like yourself!

You people who sew make me jealous--I am all thumbs when I do it.

I was counting my consecutive days on plan this morning--I'm up to 20. So the most special thing about the day will be making it 21.

'wearing heels and a costume jewelry necklace
That would make a special day for me as well.

Way to go on starting a new record. Day by day. Decision by decision.

Ruth,
A great accomplishment as well. I slipped a bit at a celebration on the weekend and had to reset.

Today is special because it's "Friday Eve". That's a little psychological term my morning dj's use and it seems to work for me. Also, DS was driving past and stopped at my office to say hello. He's a second-shifter so I hardly ever see him during the week--cleaned up. A pleasant surprise.

I'm bending my brain to create an Excel workbook that will do what I've been asked to produce and be able to take on other tasks as well. It's kind of like picking out a house plan. Cape Cod? Ranch? A-Frame?

Shake for breakfast, chicken bacon bleu salad for lunch. Beef tips for dinner, not sure how.

I'M GOING TO MAKE TODAY SPECIAL BY...

-- dropping notes to a few people I know who could use a little cheering up.

-- buying and enjoying a nice piece of fish for dinner instead of just downing protein units to get the deed of dinner done.

I feel better already!! Thanks for the suggestion. :-)

Called mama...birthday wishes are complete
Oops...forgot about the lunch separation.

I made a list and worked toward it. Some of the items took longer than I thought, but I worked on my list, and didn't forget about it, so CHECK.
I'm on my way (shortly) to the tanning bed. It was a grey day today, so the tanning lights will be great.
Arm weights...I just have to remember to do the arm weights.

I was in the office ALL DAY today except one quick run to the bank, and while I'm gone an employee who is observing Navaratri (http://hinduism.about.com/od/festivalsholidays/a/navaratri.htm) passed out and an ambulance was called. Blood sugar, pulse, and blood pressure were all fine.
They recommend he break his fast, or at least drink a sugary drink, so he had a Coke.
Just shows how important it is to regulate your blood sugar...

not only have I had 3 days on plan, but I've actually cooked dinner 3 days in a row:D

dh thought I didn't know how to cook anymore:evil:

today was actually left overs:rolleyes: with one extra

left over meatloaf (mostly)
new salad
some left over eggplant for dh
and a small portion - very small of Dreamfield's.

I measured out 2 oz dry,
made an alfredo sauce with 1/2 cup cream, 3/4 cup grated parm, salt, pepper and added 1/4 of a package of broccoli and cauliflower to that
dumped the sauce over the cooked linguini and between us, there's more than half left
It'd taste great with some chicken breast in it, too. Definitely a keeper recipe.

You guys are a riot. You really are.

Grandblessing is safetly with her mother. She survived another day of me. Half sewn costume...but now when it is finished, even though she is two, she will know I made it for her. She is very excited. Then a Belle costume and snow white costume for two more grandblessing princesses.

My car is realigned. The brakes are checked and I am on for a SHOP HOP tomorrow. All around Chicago area in different quilt shops are open houses and demo's. My sister and I are going with a couple of her friends. I am spending the night and going on Saturday also. My sister is so awesome. We may even work out at her YMCA tomorrow morning or Saturday morning. I can't wait to see what is new. I get all kinds of ideas and design my own. It's getting rainy and colder. It's quilt making time!!

I have taken no pain meds for three days now. Today was the first day that was not horrible. The bike riding 3-4 times a day is helping. The deep spasms are not as bad, or I am just getting so used to them that they don't affect me as much. The sharp shooting pain has not happened today. I found I can ignore pain sometimes.

oh yeah,,,yes today

feeling better, so I guess there was some special. Got a price quote on my outsourcing job. Affordable. Very.

6th day in a row. Next week at this time, it will be 13. That's double digits and something like 1/3rd of the way to thanksgiving.

HI, y'all,
Late in posting today.
I am on plan and feeling great.
Randy, please post a photo when you try on a dress & heels. Bet you'd be cute.

What else can I do to make this day special?

Have a special relative, my only male cousin, like my brother ,who is in the hospital for surgery tomarrow. Graft failure in left leg, hopefully, they can remove the infected one and it will have done it's work and there will be perfusion in the leg and it won't need another.
I was there to reassure him about tomarrow and show support. (He is recently divorced).

Please pray for him, those who do, but please everybody keep us both in your thoughts for tomarrow.

Will keep everybody posted.

What are you doing?

Funny story from work today. I had new nursing students with me today as I "flew" through the day. As I went pushing my supply cart around the hospital, I heard one student say,
"I'm having to run to keep up with her. Who would have thought she could move that fast!"
Pretty nice complement for a middle aged lady!

Hugs,
Claudette

P.S. Don't know what happened to the font size!

I made Thursday special by being pro-active about the predicted frost tonight! I got a LOT of excercise doing that! LOL! The herb garden is bedded down, the lemon balm stripped from stems, bagged and labeled, the mint pulled to dry, the geraniums repotted and brought in, the rosemary in out of the cold, the bird feeders all up where the flowers used to be......and a roast chicken was a success as well, because I stuffed it with stir fry veggies instead of bread stuffing, and it was delish! (My "recipe fixes" aren't often delish! LOL!)http://www.geocities.com/peej49417/phew.gifhttp://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b333/oweirdo/siggys/Blinkie/weight%20loss/workingitoff.gif

Claudette - hope everything goes well for your cousin!

I can relate about your nursing students' comment about how fast you move. When I have to bring people around the building and they need to go up to the 5th floor (no elevator), I always ask them - are you sure you want to START on the top? It's much easier starting on the bottom and working your way up one floor at a time. They think I'm doing it for MY benefit. As my Annie would say HUNH UH.
The looks on their faces, when they can catch their breath, as I have no problem with the stairs - and I always ask them questions about their projects while we are walking:slywink:, is priceless:D

Officially had my 3rd day in a row - the start of my own personal new world record - last one was 14 days in a row.

I'd like to remain on plan until Thanksgiving - and go off then only maybe.
I'm the only one who can prevent it from happening.
I'm the only one who can make it happen.

Welcome to the Challenge PJAdams.
I had let my garden go a little and although I'm still getting tomatoes and basil, everything else has stopped. Tonight I pick the last Vegatable spaghetti and that's it.

I got a workout (handweights, reverse incline situps, stretch strides with weights) in last night to make it a true YES for me.

Claudette, let us know how your cousin's operation turns out.

On plan today and I have a new secret weapon in my file cabinet. My exercise band lets me work my arms in the daytime rather than try to fit it in at night.
