Enjoy yourself, Hawk. Sounds like fun.
My weekend--tomorrow is the bus trip to Mount Vernon, actually a bus trip, Potomac cruise. The big challenge will be to stay on plan. I'm good for the last 21 days and don't want to mess up now. I checked the menus at the estate, and I should be able to make it work if I try hard enough. Just too easy to make those spur of the moment choices.
It's a wonderful Friday!

Nooooo messing up RUTH!!! NO! lol :o:D
You guys are like a nice daily shot of mental vitamins for ME....and I count on reading up on this challenge thread to give me the inspiration towards working for what I want to be doing myself again.
I'm just so SO PROUD of you all for sticking with it and keeping motivated through the highs and lows. :D This place is TRUELY SPECIAL and is and always will be 'home' for me. :D
Hawk! HAVE FUN!.....and Ruth, you too...sounds fun. ALL of it! Hawk, don't spend alot....er....DO! :D I would! lol
I'm going to my mom's house to paint in a class today. :D AND this weekend, I have a big craft show that we are in. The 'Big One' for us for the year normallly...and I haven't made a darn new thing for it either! ooops. I don't care. I have plenty. lol
Gosh...what an ego boost. I made into a title of a challenge I'm not 'officially' in. LOL :o WHY am I not surprised? LOL :paranoid:
My husband handed me $ as he was leaving for work. I have enough.( I think) He just wanted to spoil me. Maybe he's glad to be RID of me for the weekend. Nahhhhh.....Gus will miss me the most!!
I'm out of here..poor Gus.

Up and at em.
Felt good last night. Taste back to normal, mood up, body feeling right. This morning, not so much. I think I need more sleep. I think I was sleeping better before. Funny story. Our kitten sometimes gets excited after using the box and will forget to groom thoroughly. She will come out stinking horribly. Horribly. One night, a month or so ago, she came out and started loving on our blanket. Blanket got stinky, so it went into the hamper and out came one of our wedding quilts, filled with something unnatural and incredibly warm. DW hated it, but I was sleeping wonderfully. Finally, we washed the regular blanket, which doesn't hold heat nearly as well, and DW went right back to it. She's sleeping better, I'm sleeping less deeply. I don't want to suggest that my sleep is more important, but I hadn't realized how much better I sleep with really warm blankets and now I'm left looking for a solution that works for both of us. *sigh*
No weekend plans. Today is day 7. Saturday will be day 8 and Sunday day 9. No plans, but no problems improving yes days.

What are you all doing this weekend for balance in your lives..???
This evening we are entertaining a couple with dinner and games, Saturday is a big commitment for a church calling that I have (4 hours driving and 3 hours computer fixes), and Sunday I committed to pick up my son and his family at Dorval Airport in Montreal. My life is a little unbalanced this weekend and I won't have another weekend like this for a long time ...maybe around Christmas.
Dinner tonight is roast lamb, vegetable spaghetti with a cheese and tomatoe sauce, and Fauxtatoes. Since it is introducing the couple to PP and low carb we will likely have a small dessert as well (raspberries in yogurt). I'll do up a Fitday chart/nutrition list for them as well since she wants to change and was just diagnosed as a diabetic.
I have the last half of a movie and my workout planned for 10:00 with my wife.
I don't want to suggest that my sleep is more important, but I hadn't realized how much better I sleep with really warm blankets and now I'm left looking for a solution that works for both of us. *sigh*
That's funny, we had the same issue last night. GF likes blankets that are warm but don't weigh you down...I like the pressure of a good home-made quilt.
Every week we change from heavy quilt to warm light quilt. Good luck finding what works for you and DW, Max.
I have my pelvic ultrasound today, then work, then tonight we head to Wisconsin to visit MIL.
MIL lives on a river and we have to trim the brush on the banks. We also have to pull things out of the attic so she can get rid of stuff. I enjoy her house, and I like her - for about the first 24 hours, then I'm ready to go home. She can be very controlling and overbearing, so we like it when we have a lot of tasks to do. Otherwise we sit around and listen to her tell the SAME STORIES over and over again. BUT, I do enjoy her house, and her...for about 24 hours.

Aren't all MILs like that?
Last year got a little too stressful and we could tell something was going to blow and then my grandson began playing with the Nativity set and had baby Jesus flying around the room like Superman fighting with one of the wisemen. His parents had him put it back and then they left for Ottawa but someone noticed that the manger was now empty.
Everyone had to search for the next few hours and later in the day my son calls that he found the figure in the van when they reached Ottawa.
... MIL went ballistic. "Why would he take baby Jesus?", she moaned over and over. We left about 20 minutes later.
Now we go for just a day at a time, 3 hours drive, visit, sleep, and 3 hours back.
Although a little sacreligeous when things get out of hand now, the extended family look at each other when things get tense and say, "Who's got the baby Jesus?", and I begin packing.

Ottawa said "Aren't all MILs like that?"
Now wait a minute, I'm an MIL and I don't resemble that remark :p
How do I plan to spend my weekend? Today is a day out with mydaughter and some friends shopping and demonstrating spinning at Stitches East at the Baltimore Convention Center. Tomorrow is work. I don't know what I did to tick off the departmental scheduler, but I have only 1 Saturday off this month. Then church on Sunday. I plan to remain focused all weekend.

Morning :). This weekend is hopefully going to be special by getting outside and getting some much-needed yardwork done. Weather cooperating, of course. Since we had rain/snow last weekend I'm hoping the weather gods are a bit more considerate this weekend ;). And even if I don't get the yardwork done, I'm going to make it a special weekend by treating my body right and giving it two yes days ;).
Amy - Good luck! It'll soon be over - hang in there !
It's over-the ultrasound is done...it was actually REALLY quick.
However I learned that my ovaries are very high...let's just say it made the internal ultrasound just THAT MUCH MORE uncomfortable.:frown:
Thanks everyone for letting me know that it's not me, it's not her, it's her place in life as a MIL (Bonnie, you're an exception!!). It won't be bad until Sunday (hopefully) and we leave around 1pm, so I shouldn't complain.
It's a 6.5hr drive there and back (UGH) so it will be nice to have some communication time with GF.:)
We also checked out the cd-on-tape The Boleyn Inheritance and we LOVE those books, so we have that when we get tired of talking (like that happens).

G'mornin! My big plan for the weekend is to take the color tour up north that didn't work out earlier. It's supposed to be sunny and the color is at peak. I hope DH is up to it because he's spending the day putting a ceiling in our cabin and he'll come home worn out and sore. Keeping my fingers crossed!
Ouch, Amy! Glad it was quick!
I don't want to suggest that my sleep is more important, but I hadn't realized how much better I sleep with really warm blankets and now I'm left looking for a solution that works for both of us. *sigh*
No worries, Max. DH and I are polar opposites at sleeping. We have one light cotton cover on the king to keep everything from sliding around and we top it off with a fat quilt on his side and a light blanket on mine. At least until it actually snows outside. The downside is, if your bed is in public view, you'll need to arrange it every night. Ours is upstairs out of sight!
I have been a MIL since February, which is a novel thought. DIL's in FL and I'm in MI, so we're basically strangers. She's got very nice social skills, though.
Short on time this AM (stayed up too late watching Pretty Woman) so breakfast was a piece of nuked breakfast meatloaf in the car. Lunch was a civilized turkey/bacon chef salad from our cafeteria. Dinner will be beef tips.

Good morning everyone -- and good afternoon to those on the east coast. :-)
I am looking forward to a working weekend... at home on a project I love, so it's fine. It might rain so I can turn on the fireplace... I'm hoping.
Shadow... I will send good energy to the weather gods to keep it clear and nice so you can get your yard work done.
Hawk, Carol, Ruth, and Amy... have a great time on your trips!
Missy... paint class, what fun! I'd love to do that sometime.
Ottawa... enjoy game night and drive safe.
Max... glad you're feeling better.
Bonnie... have fun with your daughter!

P.S. I forgot to add that this morning I weighed myself and saw that I had lost two pounds. After months of plateau, the scale is moving again! Two pounds in the previous month and then two pounds this past week. I am so pleased. Thanks everyone for your help and inspiration!

Max - dh & I have been married almost 32 years and I have to say, our solution is similar to Carol's;)
I hate heavy blankets - feel like I'm being suffocated. I also can't bear to have my feet covered, but I don't like to be "warm" either. I'm also a blanket thief.
So, our solution is two completely different blankets. He has this thermal blanket - good for warm or cold weather (we keep air cranking, so room is usually 62-67 year round). I sleep under a flannel sheet in the summer, and have a new fleece blanket for winter. We have a queen size bed and all blankets are queen sized.

having another good day.
Despite having a horrible night. My legs were killing me - I've had it before and nothing helps but sleep. Crazy dreams aobut parking and tickets and trying to put a quarter, in an envelope, into a meter :D
just realized - I don't ever remember EATING in a dream???
I'm on plan and got some things done, but I'm feeling like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop, though...
like there's maybe something super important I'm forgetting?
oh, well, if there is - it'll pop up, won't it

Way to go Blue!!!
I know the feeling of waiting months for a change.
Hawk,
"Ready for some serious fun?? I could use it after dealing with life."
I needed some fun/competition at work so I sent out an email this morning after a few phone calls and have set up a mini challenge at work amoungst our group to lose some weight by December 15th. The winner will be the one with the greatest % body weight change in those 2 months. Two people were a little annoyed "Are you saying I need to lose some weight?!?", but all but one person joined.
We begin Monday, weighing in on our freight scales at work.

The fun started. At 12:01 PM, I purchased two tickets to see Stevie Wonder at the Verizon Center on October 30th. Wife is thrilled. This is two days before we see Van Halen at the Verizon Center. Suddenly, missing Rush doesn't seem so horrible (I can tell myself this until the end of time and I dunno that I'll believe it until the next time they come around).
Then, at 12:05 PM, I walked to the nearest Borders, picked up "The 4 Hour Work Week" and walked back. GMap Pedometer suggests it's 2.4 miles roundtrip. Including search and purchase, took me about 45 minutes. Not bad.
On plan. Not hungry. Life is grand.

The concerts sound great.
It's quiet here this afternoon and I thought I'd pass on this fascinating link someone sent concerning a mule and a mountain lion (http://frostfirezoo.com/a-true-bad-ass.html?q=a-true-bad-ass).
Mules could be replacing dogs for protection soon.;)

Today is a 'yes' :).

Hi, ya'll,
Whew, so glad the week is over.
Both my MIL and late Mom were saints. Even though my MIL is still around, due to dementia, she isn't like she used to be. Very sad. :(
Not much fun this weekend for me, cousin who is like a brother is in ICU, failed graft removed today, don't know the status yet. Am on my way there.
Despite the job working my tush off and all the stress of relative's illness, I am still on plan , day # 12!
In between the hospital this weekend, I plan to start walking again.
That always was a great stress reliever. New area to walk around my new neighborhood.
One piece of great news, yearly evaluation was great, I recieved a nice raise. If you know anything about nursing, those are few and far between, so I feel I must be doing something right!.
Well, keep me in thoughts/prayers this weekend.
Will check in when I can.

Claudette - I'll definitely keep you and your cousin in my thoughts and prayers!
And congrats on the raise!
Blue - way to go!!
I never figured out what was giving me the restless feeling, but I harnessed it and moved 103 pieces of furniture. It wasn't something I had to do, but I was restless and it was something that needed doing and gave me an outlet.
Then dh & I walked:D.
I am stiff and sore:D:D:D!

Looks like a lot of us are heading out this weekend. Have fun, everybody.
Randy--great mule/mountain lion story. That's for everyone who has ever thought their day was bad.
The blanket situation--our issue isn't with the blankets as much as the room temperature. My husband likes it really frigid. It's not bad once the bed is warmed up, but I freeze when we first go to bed. Maybe that's why God invented snuggling. :o
I was a MIL as well, until my son and his wife divorced. But I tried to be a good one (and apparently we have several other good ones here, too.)
Today was a yes for me and I'm looking forward to another one tomorrow.
Since we are leaving home at 5:00 am for the bus, I won't be on until tomorrow night.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.

Yesterday was a yes!
Stitches was a lot of fun and it turned out not to be too costly. Most of the yarns were way out of my price range. For example a 1 ounce ball of quivet (musk ox) was $75. One large skein (I didn't look at the weight, I was in shock) was $100+. Needless to say most of my money stayed in my wallet. Hubby was pleased. Oh well, Rhinebeck is next weekend.
