Wishing and hoping and thinking and praying, planning and dreaming each night of ... (Dusty Springfield)
Other than wishing for "his charms...", True Love, ... or even Weight Loss, what are you going to work towards today?
More than wishing and hoping, although hope is always great, what are you working towards on this fine Friday?

I am working for the weekend!
Seriously, I am working to complete my fat/weight loss.
Meals, snacks packed.
Hopefully, no overtime today. Plan to hit the gym after work as I haven't gone all week. However, I have done exercise at home, cardio & resistance. Have a meeting at 2pm, so I am hoping to sneak out as soon as it is over.
Will check in later...

Workings towards keeping the highs high and the lows moderate.
I am going to:
Read this voluminous consultant report.
Dream Line for real
Build/find a spreadsheet for my workout for monday
Figure my costs & thereby my needs
Fill out a time sheet
leave work early
And that won't be a full day, but it will be rewarding if I get it all done. If something's got to fall by the wayside, it's the costs/needs analysis. If something is likely to fall, it's the consulting report.

Today has begun as a great day.
I came to work dreading a call to public works over a "fix" I did yesterday for the audio setup for a major presentation on Monday. It was not my area of expertise but I got it working after a quick trip to a Dollar store for a "Y" splitter. Afterwards we noticed a channel was missing and an error light showing so I did a "Hardware Reset" on the remote tablet. Everything died.:( The remote lost all settings and every channel lost all inputs (feeds through wireless remote tablet controller). This would have meant an embarrassing a call to public works. This morning with nothing to lose, a second reset cleared the whole problem and sound poured forth.http://img26.exs.cx/img26/2245/thumbsup8de.gif
The rest of the day is just working on my leftovers and my co-worker will cover any new calls for the whole day. I will work towards a date with my wife, creating a great dinner (I now love Chipotle Sauce), and hopefully a late workout ... and like Claudette ... maybe, just maybe, make a change on the scale.http://e.deviantart.com/emoticons/r/rofl.gif

Today I'm working towards another great day on plan . Off to a great start with exercise done, water down all but one last glass that's sitting beside me, a protein rich breakfast eaten and the two remaining meals for the day planned, and my first mental challenge of the day completed.
Happy Friday, everyone :)!

Today feels like a good day to read a consultant report. My computer is undergoing a mandated virus scan that eats 50% of the CPU, making every tick in Excel take seconds instead of instants. Spreadsheet got built and I'm going for extry credit.
I'm working to stay awake.
I finially drifted off around 4:30 am. My right leg was spasming all night . I got up and worked out. Then it stopped.
I finially woke up.That gives me around 6 hours sleep.
We have good friends coming over for dinner and a campfire tonight. SO! I have to work on what to eat.hmmmm..... got any ideas?
I'm gonna go to the gym and then the store in an hour.

I am, not at all apologetically, working toward the weekend. Seriously.
I need some time away from this desk, this project and this phone.
My primary testing environment and its testbed do not recognize me as a user. What a lovely error message. No one can fix it but an Oracle geek in another state who is in a four-hour meeting.
Not that there aren't other parts of the project to keep me busy, but this part was kind of critical today to me getting things set up for next week. When I got the 'unable to obtain user information on (servername)--violation of shared memory pool' error message, I realized that some people would take that as a sign from above to put on their jackets, pick up their briefcases and go home. Would that it were that simple!
So I am working toward getting to the end of today, one foot in front of the other, no fires, nothing blowing up, no more unexpected cavernous sinkhole errors to derail anyone's schedule. In fact, I do believe I will go shopping at the end of my day in a bookstore or a kitchen store and buy something I deserve but haven't given myself permission to splurge on. I need some 'me' time, right now, really badly.
But at least I'm not tempted to eat inappropriately. ;)
I am drinking whey with glutamine and serving boneless marinated pork chops grilled and salad with baked potatoes for the carb eaters. I made a coconut cream pie and added yellow #5 to take away any temptation. If I eat depends on if my stomach feels up to it. So far no luck.

Hawk, I hope all works well with your friends tonight.
Wishing and hoping and thinking and praying, planning and dreaming each day that the workload levels off or becomes more even.
It did today! I went over the discrepancy in completed tasks and http://img17.exs.cx/img17/3650/u8yexpert.gif agreed that it was way off balance and he realized that it looked bad if it is ever checked. I made up a flip sign to show how we will cover ALL calls/walkins/emails/remote site visits on alternate days. On your day you do EVERYTHING and catchup the next day. The sign is seen as you enter our room and it displays who will take their request.
I had lunch today (about 80 protein and 14 ECC) with a few friends from work (IF/18/6) and dinner will likely be something simple like a fruity shake or a yogurt pudding with whey protein and fruit.

Looks like everyone's having a productive day, in spite of unforeseen obstacles.
Randy--sounds like your co-worker problem may be evening out a bit as far as workload.
Hawk, hope you're feeling better.
My day was difficult--the older students were fairly somber, because of the accident that claimed the life of one of our graduates. He had come home from college for the weekend to go hunting. The guys who picked him up at the airport were messing around on the road, apparently fishtailing, and got in the way of a tractor trailer. The younger kids didn't really know him, so it was kind of hard to put up with their usual nonsense. I had to record our auditions for all-state choir this morning, so at least it was busy. All day, though, I had images crossing my mind of him in class. He had a great sense of humor--kept us RTFL frequently. I just can't get his parents off my mind--I know it's only God's grace that keeps them functioning.
However, I have stayed on plan today. I mixed some Jay Robb chocolate protein powder, some cream, and a bit of Splenda into my hot coffee this morning because I was cold. It tasted pretty good. A couple of sausage patties, and that was breakfast. Lunch was some leftover chili and guacamole. (and the naysayers say this plan is too restrictive!) Supper will probably be some ham and veggies.
Sorry this is a bit long. Have a wonderful weekend, all.

weird, productive, yet upsetting day.
tried to help someone and it backfired ... Then, I tried to fix the backfire ...
she doesn't want to discuss it, wrote in an e-mail that it's fine, but told me don't call, she doesn't want to talk about it, see you tomorrow.
One of the problems with e-mail. If I could hear her voice, I'd know if she meant it or not.
I have stayed on plan, though. And plan to, all week-end.

Randy, I'm PROUD of you and your plan. Good job! Also good job on the audio setup!
Gaelen, nothing can insult me more deeply than my computer! I hope you went shopping!
(((Agnes))) I also feel that emails are hard to interpret.
Ruth, I'm sorry to hear about your graduate's death.
Hawk, I hope you're better by now.
I've been spending lots of time reading that I would normally be here chatting, but the GCBC book is hard to put down. I spent a couple of hours photographing a family with two wiggly kids and a dog. The dog was great! ;) We're leaving for Minnesota after work on Wednesday, so I packed as much as I could. It's going to be a whirlwind at work this week!
