How was your weekend?
With the hectic nature of Mondays, I love taking a moment to reflect the past couple days and sink into the good moments I've had. Remember the smells, the sights, and the relaxed feeling. :-)

I hope everyone HAD a wonderful weekend and is ENJOYING a wonderful Monday... at least a tolerable Monday.

PS = if there is a usual Monday Topic..... I just botched it.

I did FINALLY have a nice weekend. I have been so busy lately that I haven't had any TIME to enjoy ANYTHING let alone a WEEKEND!

Saturday I slept in, had a meeting all afternoon, then in the evening I went to a club for some country dance lessons! I upped my two-step skills, helped teach others the electric slide, and learned the Tush Push!
They were also Watzing and a couple others...it was a blast!

Sunday we worked outside...the first time I've worked in the yard since we tore down the garden in early September!!!
We picked the brussel sprouts (not a good year for them) and removed all the leaves from the yard. Did one final mow, covered the raspberries, and dumped the almost completely dead mums...LOTS of smells, sights, and sounds. What's really nice is that we got started in the yard so early we were done by NOON!!! Had some lunch, did some grocery shopping and meal planning, and actually took some time in the evening to sit and relax. There was nothing on tv so I read...

Overall...a wonderfully PERFECT weekend - and perfectly ON PLAN!!

I had a wonderful time with two of my grandaughters. Their parents were tolerable... My DIL made lo carb all weekend.. She was lovely.

Jon is in the states and due home in a couple hours. I am excited to see him. He told me it took three days to get to the airport in Bagdad. He missed his flight to Kuwait. He traveled for days. He must be exhausted.

I'm doing well foodwize and will get Upper body weights in today.

Great news about Jon coming home!!! Remember to give him our thanks for his service to our country. My DH and I appreciate what he and all the other men and women in uniform are giving up for our safety. How long will he get to stay in the U.S.?

The weekend was pretty darn good. Horse training, a visit from a daughter , plus a steak supper out. I also got the oven cleaned and now it can be forgotten for a while. This is good.

Today, we are going to go do a little shopping (DD and I) as I need a few things and some groceries too.

Will check in with you folks later.

Checking in.
Feelix, we used to do Monitor Mondays, on Mondays but I haven't noticed it in a while.

A great weekend and a day off today so I am getting lots of yard work in (raking, pulling up plants, putting up lawn furnature and bikes, etc.)

A late lunch will be Chipotle Chicken roll ups and dinner will be a ham with asperagus and salad.

Never worry, Sarah. If anyone had a subject in mind, they'd just toss it in. :) Good job starting the thread! That got you some points!

My weekend was restful, with no drama. I didn't clean my oven like some folks, but I did re-organize my sewing basket! :D All the buttons from the little envelopes that came with the clothes for the last twenty years are now in my button bag. Plus, I was absolutely amazed at how much elastic and velcro I've amassed, not to mention iron-on patches. It was time.

I'd like to say I was on plan yesterday, but I got sloppy and ate apple slices with peanut butter for brunch while I was doing computer work. I was too busy and didn't want to "cook" anything. :peeved: I ate straight protein the rest of the day.

Today I will make my meatloaf, for sure.

Ottawa- Monitor Monday? What is that?

Carol - do you have a favorite meatloaf recipe (that you can share?)

I am off to Canada Wednesday so tomorrow is the last day i'm sure I will have internet access. I am staying with my dad and I don't think he has internet access at the house. :-)

I am looking forward to some Alberta Beef! My grandfather raises his own beef and it tastes like candy!

I have packed my protein powder and am ready. my only obstacle right now is airplane food..... I can eat a hardy breakfast and take my own snacks.

Here's to a great afternoon!

Sarah, if you had time, you could make Randy's trail cookie recipe. It's mostly protein powder mixed with butter and whatever other lc crunchy, chewy thing you can throw in. Saves my plan when I'm traveling.

My meatloaf recipe was born as "Breakfast Meatballs" in our recipe section here on the board. It has evolved, though. I mix 2 lb ground beef, 1 lb breakfast sausage, 3 or so eggs, whatever spices I feel like at the moment, maybe shredded cheese, maybe not. I make it in a cake pan and cut it into one-serving squares that I freeze in individual sandwich bags.

Lynn, I meant to tell you how happy I am that Jon is going to be home!

I'm frazzled from work today. I'm going to order hot wings from Little Caesar's for me and BBQ for DH, who will be home later tonight, and put my feet up! I wonder what's on H&G tonight!

Jon is home. Thanks for the well wishes. LAzagna is a favorite of his. I made it today. I think I'll pass and eat salad with sirloin and maybe some sauce or a little sprinkled mozz cheese on top. I like to breathe...

I fixed a salmon steak on the inside grill this evening and it turned out pretty good. I don't often cook it and I really should try more ways to get fish into our diet. Now that would be a real challenge as we just aren't big fish eaters. Catfish with all the breading , yes. *(only not for me now that I don't eat breading) baked , broiled and etc. is a different story. I need to check out the recipe section .

We had some lovely rain here today and they predict more for tomorrow so that will be welcome also. I doubt our Missouri deer hunters are really thrilled with it tho. The weather is warm and wet.

Sara have fun in Canada, and Hawk have fun visiting with your son.

Hi, Y'all,

Great weekend and Monday off.

Lynn, so great Jon is home. I am thrilled he is home with you.

Ammy, great to have a weekend on plan.

Well, I was busy with guests yesterday, so I didn't have time to post.

Saturday night was so fun. I looked great in the grey suit, it is almost ready to be alterred to a smaller size. I might wait and have it altered when I reach my goal. There were PP friendly items there at the party and I had just iced water, since they had no club soda or diet drinks.

Today, I planted and worked in my front yard flowerbed. I weeded, planted posies some friends gave us yesterday. Earlier today, I found two scrubs, Nandina's, on sale, so I ended up buying and planting them also.
They are going to look great. I am so sore tonight, just some core toning tonight and a shower.

Carol, I read your posting on Sunday, I think it was, on camping "teardrops". There is another cute little camper made in East Texas, called a Casita. I am not sure what the web site is, but try www.casita.com (http://www.casita.com) or try to google it. They are so cute. DH and I are planning upon getting one in the future.

Well, got to hit the shower and get ready to go to work tomarrow.

Tomarrow night is a Christimas Party with some colleagues from the hospital. It is going to be held at Pappadeaux's, so I will have boiled/grilled fish and a salad.

Here is to a week on plan.

Hugs,
Claudette

Claudette, I love the Casita. It goes by a different name up here, but it's the same product. Last time I checked, several years ago, a new one was about $7,000 at the factory. We contemplated driving over to Minnesota to pick it up, even. Then my frugal nature took over and spoiled the whole thing. I can't justify that kind of expenditure when I only use it two or three times a year. I'm a party pooper! I only saw a used one once and I was going to take it but the owner changed his mind. :tear:
