Morning everyone!
"Travel, trouble, music, art,
A kiss, a frock, a rhyme,-
I never said they feed my heart,
But still they pass my time." Dorothy Parker
I don't know about all of you, but that's one of the things I need to do. Find more things (besides food) that feed my heart - 'cos the things that just pass my time don't stay long enough.
Some of the things I have that "feed my heart" are:
walking with dh
visiting with our grandblessing
reading a good book
and being here
Have a great PP day!

Hi, Agnes, great post to start our day !! We all have things that nurture us and speak to our heart and it is good to acknowledge them.
Sitting on the porch with DH, watching the rain fall
Nuzzling a new great grand baby's little neck and smelling the sweetness
Walking in the hills and seeing the absolute beauty of the woods
Working with a young horse and reaching his mind , not his fear

Amen and amen to that! Great thoughts to ponder, Agnes.
Quick post, then will follow-up later tonight.
Snacks, all packed on plan. Planned what I am going to have a party tonight at Pappadeaux's.
Things that feed my heart:
also, walking or hiking with dh
seeing our son when he drops by or a phone call from him
playing with our dogs
doing body flex and callenectics, because I can see pretty fast results
Have a great day, all.
Woke up, and went back to sleep...not such a great start.
After I finally got up and got dressed, I was directed to look out the window...the sky was light blue with STREAKS of red clouds...it was beautiful. Improved my day GREATLY!
My back is very out of place, I need to go to the chiropractor, so I will do that today...I MUST do that today.
My meals are planned and packed. My day is planned. My life is good.
Feeding my heart.. lately...
listening to my husband play guitar...incredible ( gotta be a strat)
watching my grandaughter scream and laugh as she gets out of the car and runs to me...so excited to be at my house.
hugging my dead tired son as he gets off a plane on the 11th after leaving his base on the 7th in Iraq to travel 4 days to come home on leave...and he has an ear to ear smile. Nothing feels better at that moment than safe and sound.
Thanks for the posative start to the day...

Good morning--
I've been missing in action for the last several days. I don't have much time even now, but I wanted to quickly check in. I've been doing fine, staying on plan, but I have just been insanely busy. The rest of this week is not looking very good, either. From Thursday through Saturday, I'll be involved in our state association's All-State choir, culminating in two concerts in the capitol rotunda in Harrisburg on Saturday. I have six students participating, so those three days are just crazy with rehearsals--from early morning to late night.
Hawk, what an incredible thing it is to see your son back safe! Bless you both.
Continuing on my quest to try some things that are new (to me), I had my first encounters with turnips over the weekend. I'm experimenting with something I can take to my MIL's house on Thanksgiving, since the only thing I'll be able to eat otherwise is the turkey. I've always been finicky about vegetables--pretty much just eat green beans, corn, peas, carrots, and broccoli. But Green Giant has these bags of diced up turnips or a combination of carrots, turnips, and squash. They are wonderful! I just sauteed them in olive oil and added a touch of balsamic vinegar. Yum!
Anyway--
Have a great day everyone!

Lynn, did you say how long he gets to be home?
My heart thrives on hugs, music, art, random acts of kindness.
Got a lot done already, onto some meetings and then some number crunching. My bs was a little high this morning and I'm not sure why.
oh Ruth...thanks for the wonderful reminder!!
I really enjoyed singing in the All-State Choir. I remember it being a LOT of work, but SO worth it!!!
Congrats on getting six kids in!

Hawk - so glad your son is home safe!
Ruth - I'm always amazed when I encounter someone who has never eaten turnips:D.
We had them in the fall most Sundays growing up. One of the few vegetables I would eat - I was soooooooooo picky.
But, I've only eaten them in soups or, my fav, creamed turnips.
We usually only buy fresh turnips - only use the frozen if I am cooking them out of season.
Although, I must say it would be kinda hard to sautee them fresh - they are much firmer fresh than frozen. Why???
I'm currently home sick. Not to be too disgusting, but I've been on the verge of vomiting all day. I don't know if dh & I caught a bug or if it was something we ate or it was just too much carbage. The dog threw up last night - he gets lots of table scraps - but not the carbage. AT least, we don't give him carbage, but he finds his own version of carbage - remote controls, cigarette lighters (he has even eaten a cigarette or two) - although he's been much kinder to his stomach lately.
So, I'm keeping hydrated with water, but nothing else until later - then I'll try some boiled chicken in broth.

It was an excellent day--on plan with the food. Not enough exercise, though. I haven't had time to count points.
