Today, I'm pledging to find the humor in the situations already on my schedule where humor is going to be essential to my surviving the day with sanity intact. ;) That's the ticket for my ME time today...turning wacko Wednesday into wacky Wednesday with 15 minutes of humor.
And in that spirit, a little veterinary humor to start your day:
A client brought a litter of golden-retriever puppies to the vet clinic for inoculations and worming. As the look-alike pups squirmed over and under one another in their box, the vet realized it would be difficult to tell the treated ones from the rest. The vet turned on the water faucet, wet her fingers, and moistened each dog's head as she finished.
After the fourth puppy, the vet noticed that the normally talkative client had
grown silent. As she sprinkled the last pup's head, the client leaned forward and whispered, "I didn't know they had to be baptized."
On plan and forward...good wacky Wednesday, everyone!
Morning. Jon is home til Friday. Then he travels to visit his girlfriend of two years in Florida.
Tonight we are grilling meat on the grill. Many in our family are coming to visit Jon. My husband will be home well before I am. I have the rest of the food finished and in the fridge.
I went to bed with an extreemly sore throat last night and musenex and vitamin C. I woke up this morning with it mostly gone...I need to sleep , but today is a very busy, very booked day at the podiatrist office.Tonight the family is going to be over...I'll make the best of it and hope to survive.
I already had sirlion for breakfast with coffee.
Lunch will be a protien shake
dinner will be grilled meat and salad.
got it in the bag!

ON track and going to work at bringing my carbs a little lower over the next 2 weeks. 1 hour prep workout last night for the strength training class today.
Two hillbillies walk into a restaurant for there weekly Wednesday lunch. After ordering their cornbread and beans, they talk about the latest addition to their junkyard business.
Suddenly, a woman at a nearby table who is eating a sandwich begins to cough. After a minute or so, it becomes apparent that she is in real distress.
One of the hillbillies looks at her and says, "Kin ya swallar?" The woman shakes her head no.
"Kin ya breathe?" The woman begins to turn blue and shakes her head no.
The hillbilly walks over to the woman, lifts up the back of her dress, yanks down her drawers and quickly gives her right butt cheek a lick with his tongue.
The woman is so shocked that she has a violent spasm and the obstruction flies out of her mouth. As she begins to breathe again, the hillbilly walks slowly back to the bar.
His partner says, "Ya know, I'd heerd of that there 'Hind Lick Maneuver' but I ain't never seed nobody do it."

Love the Wacky Wednesdays!
Very busy today, still one person short, but hanging in there.
Put on a pair of pants I hadn't worn in 2 years and they fit great.
I am going to have to get new scrub pants or go sagging!
Snacks, lunch, packed for today.
After work, the gym, which I have neglected the last two weeks. Need to get back on track.
Will check in later.

Good morning! My 9:00 appointment didn't show up and her secretary said she's in another meeting, so I'm free to do some catch-up work.
Had my shake this morning and I have sliced deli roast beef for lunch. I can either have in in a flatbread wrap or with some flax crackers and cheese with V8 juice on the side. I'll decided that later.
Stopped at the health food store and the meat market last night on my way home, so tonight it's the grocery store. I'll be a deer widow for a few days, which makes my cooking routine very different.
Have a good day, everyone!

Love the jokes! :D Hi ALL! I'm just popping in to say Hi! ..so HI! :D
My schedule for the next couple of weeks is...well..INSANE....fun, but so so busy! I have several upcoming kids Santa shops that I normally do...in between those shows I'm filling in with classes, and gaining more and more students! :D And we have several Holiday Community Events that my husband's in charge of! Not to mention the Thanksgiving Holiday and an Anniversary, and Birthday. Okay, I'm tired. LOL
Anyways...I just wanted to stop by to say hello. I do try to find time at the minimum to 'lurk' and 'read'...and will continue to do so.
Hawk! I'm so pleased to hear all about Jon's visit! :D
Claudette....good for you on the SCRUBS! WWWWWOOOHHOOOOO!!!!!

Good morning--
Hawk--the next few days are precious I know. Enjoy every minute. Hope you feel better.
Claudette--congrats on the scrubs. It's a great feeling when something that didn't fit now does.
A joke I pulled off a "joke of the day" site:
A tourist in Vienna goes through a graveyard and all of a sudden he hears some music. No one is around, so he starts searching for the source.
He finally locates the origin and finds it is coming from a grave with a headstone that reads: "Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827."
Then he realizes that the music is the Ninth Symphony, and it is being played backward! Puzzled, he leaves the graveyard and persuades a friend to return with him. By the time they arrive back at the grave, the music has changed. This time it is the Seventh Symphony, but like the previous piece, it is being played backward. Curious, the men agree to consult a music scholar.
When they return with the expert, the Fifth Symphony is playing, again backward. The expert notices that the symphonies are being played in the reverse order in which they were composed, the 9th, then the 7th, then the 5th.
By the next day the word has spread and a throng has gathered around the grave. They are all listening to the Second Symphony being played backward.
Just then the graveyard's caretaker ambles up to the group. Someone in the group asks him if he has an explanation for the music.
"Don't you get it?" the caretaker says incredulously. "He's decomposing."
Just thought that would fit in with my week--going to All-State Choir, listening to the kids singing Beethoven's "Hallelujah," among other great pieces of music.
Gaelen, I'm with you on needing humor to get through this really busy day--the last before I am on the road to Harrisburg for the next three days.
I'm on track today. I did indulge a bit at supper last night, so that was slightly (but not devastatingly) off plan. That's the first (and last) time this month. I'm dedicated to a PP Thanksgiving.
Have a great day, all.

Ruth - good luck to you and the participants in the All State.
Hawk - rest as much as you can so you can enjoy your son's visit!!!
Carol - I'm eating sliced deli roast beef as we speak:D
But I rolled mine up around some American cheese
I've decided even the flat breads and pitas and crackers deserve nean.
I'm feeling a bit better, but still not 100%.
Feeling good on plan, though, and already got in some major M & S:D

Y'know, Agnes, I'm coming to that conclusion myself. I haven't had flatbread around for a while so I bought some. Even though it says 6ecc, it acts like more. Today I didn't have any.
I usually make beef rollups with a bit of cream cheese, but it was a nice change to use a cream cheese/cheddar cheese mixture I got from my meat market.
Checking out of the office and heading for the grocery store! :)

I never thought of that (or think of it, either:rolleyes:).
If I have the rest of the roast "beast" tomorrow for lunch, I'll try it with cream cheese.
I was buying this cheese spread mixture which had very little carbs - can't remember the exact count, but the brand is Alouette - it would be delicious with roast beef or ham.
I was eating it spread on pepperoni.
thanks for 2 new options:D
