Well, I'm up! Coffee's made, floors swept, radio playing Christmas music. I'm debating whether to have a breakfast shake or make some eggs. DH is out hunting with the young man he is mentoring and I intend to order the books he wants before he returns. It's cold and windy this morning but it's going to be sunny and in the 40'sF tomorrow. Something to look forward to!

What's going on in your life today? :)

Hello Carol :). I went to the farmers market this morning, but was a bit more restrained than usual because my back is feeling rather delicate, and I don't want to provoke it. I managed to pick up a few veggies, some strange mushrooms and some unpasteurised milk, but left the meat to buy at the butchers this week.

Hey Carol, cold here too! Sounds like a lovely day though for you with the Christmas music on and ordering some books for hubby. Mitra, do your farmer's market go all winter long? Would love to be able to find something like that here

We were gone for a few days over the holiday and did nothing but relax. We watched movies, eat, walked, laughed and just replenished.

Had my annual physical two weeks ago and lost 10 lbs from last year and had lost 10 lbs the year before that, makes not only the doctor happy but also me!

Today looks like doing some housekeeping and getting up the tree. Wind chill in Chicago is about 17 this morning so a little nippy!

Anette, I have not done a ticker, but if you click on User CP in the blue toolbar at the top of the PP page, you would click on Edit Signature and put it in there. Someone will pop in and tell you how to get a ticker to put there.

For your photo, go to User CP and click on Edit Avatar. You can pick from the graphics available or use your own picture. The largest image you can place is 80X80 pixels or 19.5KB, so you'll have to shrink your photo considerably to make it work. You've probably got a program on your computer that will do the job.

Hi, Janet! Sorry to hear that your back is being touchy. Does the butcher deliver?

Billie, it's good to see you! Doctors tend to be very pleased with slow, consistent losses, don't they? Congratulations! :D

I'm not ready to put the tree up just yet. My to-do list is growing. I've sort of committed to make fruitcake this year for DH (a two-day task) and my grandmother's special pfefferkuchen (oh, spellcheck didn't like that!) anise cookies that need to age for a few weeks before serving. That means "get started"! I haven't baked anything in years, but I feel strong enough. I treasure the lack of cravings so much that I don't want to rock the boat by nibbling.

Saurkraut and hand-made german weiners for lunch and they already smell divine.

Mitra, do your farmer's market go all winter long? Would love to be able to find something like that hereHello Billie, good to see you :). Yes, our farmers market goes on all through the year - except for maybe the Saturday between Christmas and New Year.

Hi, Janet! Sorry to hear that your back is being touchy. Does the butcher deliver? Thanks, Carol. The back's not really bad, just protests when I do something reckless like sneezing or turning over in bed . So I'm trying to be ultra-cautious while it's in a particularly vulnerable state. The butchers don't deliver, but at least it means I'm not carrying the meat and the veg & milk at the same time, and I can do two or three smaller shops through the week rather than all at one go. Luckily the supermarket does deliver  (or we would definitely be giving up bottled water!).

Anette, I've never used a ticker, but I'm sure someone who has one will pop in and tell you how they did it. I think if you click on somebody's ticker it will take you to the site that does them, and they will have instructions there.

That would be considered "touchy" in my book! You are very good at understatement! ;)

Anette, congratulations on getting your avatar up so quickly! :)

Well, I had very well-laid plans this morning, but they were set aside by drop-in guests. :p Just barely got the dishes done. Good thing I ran the vacuum early!

Anette, I see you worked the avatar out :D.

All alone today and got things in that I don't normally do. As well I joined a board member's Dodgeball team yesterday, beginning in January.
With Wa'il (Tamarian) from Low Carb Friends we've planned a low carb dinner (restaurant) next weekend for local low carbers. We did it a few years ago and it worked out well at Red Lobster.
For the few here from the Ottawa/Hull area interested in eating/discussing LC over dinner, drop an email or PM and I'll send the link.

Today: On Plan, an 18/6 that will be under 30 ECC.
Protein cookies baked using leftover PB and an older soy based protein powder. They taste great but for some reason do not have the texture of Whey Protein cookies and crumble easy even though made the same way.
Won 2 auctions on eBay and paid the last of the Christmas gifts off except for one other little thing for my BIL which I'll find this week.
Had a resistance workout and a 6 ECC, 50 Protein lunch. I picked up some hand weight shafts and am disassembling my bench weights which I don't get to use inside to make up larger hand weights rather than keep buying the next size up.
I have a bit of shoveling and shopping to do and may catch The Mist tonight or later this week.

Great to see you Billie and congrats on the consistent loss.
