“Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try.”

Today is our day to make the decision, and to try. I had a long talk with a very ill Ex sister in law last night, not medically but mentally. She is in a downward spirial and the words kept coming to me, if you don't change anything nothing changes, I believe it is a similar mantra that Carol has in her signature (or had). At any rate, today is OUR day to try!

I have an interesting day, second board of directors meeting in my new position and they are doing a 120 day review. Hmm I say!!!;) It had better be a good one! Nothing like the rash of an Irish women! :) :)

Friends are coming to our house tomorrow night for dinner and staying over night and then we are going to Long Grove for some shopping on Friday. It should be alot of fun!

Hope your day is full of trying and great decisions!

Good morning, Billie :). It feels just like old times to be starting the day (well, the afternoon ;) ) with one of your quotes.

Good luck with your meeting - I'm sure they'll be pleased with you.

Yes, Billie, great quote to start our day. I have to sub from 8 to 3 so will not be able to post again til this evening but I am going to make good decisions , I promise. Already took my supps and got a good start on my water. Will take something to eat as they usually just serve carbage to the kids. Sounds like a plan.

See you later --have a great day all.

I'm here...MUCH warmer today...27 degrees, but the temps will be dropping all day!

I love it though...Duluth is getting 6 inches of snow...I'm SO jealous!

Today I pick out our holiday cards for work. My boss insists we send them out, and is picky about what they look like, but gets stupid and crabby about the process of picking them out. I narrow it down to three, he hates them all, so I tell him I'll find new ones, then he says he could care less what they look like...just pick one...so I do...but then he complains about the one I chose.
Do you see the cycle I endure with this extremely selfish rude annoyingly childish man??

Okay, he's only like this when we have to pick out things. In our normal day-to-day work life, he is fine and work-with-able. Just HATE having to pick things out. If it's not a "name brand" and extremely expensive, he doesn't want it, but who wants to use a $6 HEAVY pen on a day to day basis???
ARGH...

My breakfast is eaten, my lunch is packed and planned.
Again, I struggle with supper. Just no time to think ahead...maybe veggie soup and meatballs? I'll figure it out. I have to, or I'm "planning to fail".:suspicious:

Definitely trying. All the best with your board meeting Billie.

I have a case of water in muy car so I can grab one when I need it and today they froze as soon as I opened them. A few were already frozen and the others just on the verge and the snap of popping the protector off had them crystallize.

I have a resistance class at lunch and Dinner/Snacks/Movie at one of my son's homes. I have a box of Muscle Pops and some nuts for snacks. They are having Pizza and they already joked about me eating only the top.

A little guy is sitting at the bar just staring at his drink for half
an hour when this big trouble-making biker steps next to him, grabs his
drink and gulps it down in one swig. The poor little guy starts crying.

"Come on man. I was just giving you a hard time" the biker says. "I
didn't think you'd CRY. I can't stand to see a man crying".

"This is the worst day of my life" says the little guy between sobs.
"I can't do anything right. I overslept and was late to an important
meeting, so my boss fired me". "When I went to the parking lot, I found
my car was stolen and I don't have any insurance". "I left my wallet in
the cab I took home". "I found my wife in bed with the gardener, and my
dog bit me". "So I came to this bar trying to work up the courage to
put an end to my life, and then you show up and drink the damn
poison"!!!

Sometimes someone else's little gesture can pull us through the day.;)

Sorry guys..it was cute...I'm off to work..Have worked out, have eaten steak and have coffee in hand...Have a great day.

Hi all,
thanks for all the good posts this morning. I have a dilemma here. I am NOT a breakfast eater at all and it is hard for me to eat anything before 9am. so over the last 2 weeks i have been eating breakfast at 7am and it almost makes me queezy. I have tried everything. shakes, bars. eggs.. etc. i really dont enjoy eating breakfast but i know i have to. do you think it would still be ok if i eat at 9am? or do i have to eat within a certain amount of time after getting up? thanks for all your help. off to work now.
Anette
PS i read a funny little thing the other day: "the early bird catches the worm BUT the second mouse gets the cheese"--> some encouraging words for all us prograstinators right?

Annette, do what your body tells you to do! It is fine to postpone breakfast for awhile, probably that will change for you but right now go with what works! And no worries!

Hmm I love the stories...Ammy I do believe you might have started something, Randy can you hold your own today with this? :D

Men are like
... Blenders.
You need one, but you're not quite sure why.

... Copiers.
You need them for reproduction, but that's about it.

... Government Bonds.
They take way too long to mature.

... Horoscopes.
They always tell you what to do and are usually wrong.

... Lava Lamps.
Fun to look at, but not all that bright.

... Weather.
Nothing can be done to change either one of them.

Remember good decisions about food.....and men!

I was one of those who never missed breakfast ever and usually started each day with a great shake. Going without it or having a small breakfast would annoy me.

I began IF at the end of August to break a stall and continued on afterwards. I have had breakfast twice since then (social). To get the benefits of fasting it should go a minimum of 18 hours but it sounds like you might already be doing 14 if you don't eat 'til after 9:00.
It took a while but no I usually forgo lunch as well now and get a small snack or a late lunch followed by a regular dinner.
Not for all, but there are some other benefits that come along with it.

Good jokes everyone!!
And Anette, I think it's fine to wait until 9am.

I am SUPER hungry today...so I started in on some Sunflower seeds around 9:45. I have only had 1/2 a "serving" but my mouth is killing me.
I use seeds to settle my growling stomach cause it takes time to get them out of the shell, but the salt is such a KILLER to me!!

Anyway, it's 1 minute to 11am, and I can eat then, so they did they trick, they helped me survive until lunchtime!

Here's to another morning staying "on plan".

Very funny jokes on this Wacky Wednesday!

I'm counting my blessings this morning because my 84-year-old mother was in a car accident last night, but is okay. Somebody rear-ended her hard enough to push the trunk of her Lincon into her back seat and then left the scene of the accident. I can't imagine what the other guy's vehicle looks like! That car is like a tank, which is why we put her into it. Well, it certainly did it's job last night. She's talking about moving into my sister's in town so she can take dial-a-ride to her activities until she gets another car!

Amy, my sympathies to you regarding your boss! Mine used to be a hum-dinger, but I'm getting him whipped into shape. :slywink: Well, one of us is changing, anyway!

Shake for breakfast, chef salad for lunch, all on plan.

Carol, so glad that your mom was not hurt in that accident. I hope when I am 84 that I will be going strong like her and getting in lots of activities !

Our neighbor, a lady somewhere in her 80's, was deer hunting earlier this month, and quite disgusted that she didn't get one !! I don't want to deer hunt, but I sure admire the folks that are living life to its fullest at that age.
