Good morning, everyone. My inspiration today is gratitude for having the health and strength to get up this morning and have a productive day ahead of me. What a blessing, especially when you consider all of those who can't, for one medical reason or another! There are many folks out there who would give everything to be able to go to work or school. A busy day ahead--no free time at all. This is my last choir practice before we start working on the Christmas program on the stage. Then we leave for a basketball tournament tonight and tomorrow. My food is already packed, so I don't plan to give myself any opportunity to head for the snack bar at the game. I stayed in my classroom until 8:30 last night and was able to get a lot accomplished, so I feel good about that. Have a productive, gratitude-filled day, everyone.
I've had a wonderful weather cancellation! I was suppose to go to my parents house this weekend (in another state), but with the imminent threat of freezing rain, then 6-12 inches of snow...it has been decided that we will stay home. The best part is that we don't have ANY plans now, which means we can get some of those things done that we never have time for!! How exciting!!!

Amy--
Hope you have a great time. I'm a little envious of the snow. They are calling for a mixed bag of slop here on Sunday. That is worse than driving in snow.

I listened to the radio this morning and they were moaning about all the snow and traffic accidents, so I ran to the window; nothing. The station was 40 miles away and they were delaying schools. Go figure! I enjoy driving to work on dry pavement to the point of reverence. We're getting the slop on Saturday night. I have no plans for the weekend except a music jam tonight. Sometimes you just need a good excuse to stay home, isn't that right, Amy?
I had my shake this morning and am just about to dig into a chicken/bacon salad with bleu cheese dressing.

I am fired up (well, smoldering maybe), because I have finally gotten my next rotation lined up. Starting December 10th, I will be in Kansas City, working on bringing multiple agencies into compliance with OSHA's voluntary protection program. Exciting. Sort of. I guess. But it's good that it's settled, now to figure out the vagaries of making it all work.

Shared your link with my seniors, Amy (Everyone else left for the game, so we were just killing some time). We enjoyed it. I thought it was particularly interesting that one of their recommendations was to eat a protein-based appetizer that would diminish your hunger for the entree.
I liked when it talked about the juices/smoothies..."and always choose the 16oz small".
Remember when 16oz was a large, or at least a medium?
Now it's a small.
I can't imagine drinking a 32oz smoothie...too much!!
Chipotle is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Around here we have "chipotle-friday" and we all get burrito bols.
I choose a salad with chicken, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and a touch of mild salsa. According to the calculator:
http://www.chipotlefan.com/index.php?id=nutrition_calculator
it's 646 calories, 45g fat, 11ecc, 41g pro

Good title for today, Ruth, though I didn't feel very fired up, I'm afraid. Luckily I'd done most of the things I needed to get done this week.
I noticed again today that my mouth, throat and lips felt tingly and itchy after eating egg mayonnaise - and it started instantly when I licked the spoon with just mayonnaise on it. I really don't want to be allergic to eggs :(. They're the most complete and bioavailable form of protein there is, and incredibly useful. Why couldn't it be mangoes or something? The particularly irritating thing is that I noticed a reaction when I had raw egg yolk in a shake the other day, but I've always disliked cooked egg white. So if I had to be allergic to eggs, why couldn't it be to the bit I don't like as much?
