Those words used to be magic for our little dog, Kelso. Isn't it too bad we don't get as excited as our four legged friends do about the idea of taking a walk?
I'd like to invite you to join me for a 6-week Walking Challenge! I am looking at starting this coming Monday, April 24 (this coming weekend is insanely busy for me) with the plan of establishing some great walking habits over the next 6 weeks. This is my little way of trying to get back into the moving and shaking routine.
Anyone who wants to join can establish whatever goals you want to, and we can compare notes and experiences. I'm going to plan over the next couple of days and try to set a total number of miles I think I can walk in 6 weeks. You could use a pedometer and go for number of steps, or go for number of minutes walked. You could do a MapQuest and imagine yourself walking to a neighboring town over the course of 6 weeks!
I'm also going to try to do more walking to and from work, the store, meetings, etc. And like the mail carrier, I'm going to do my best not to let the weather stop me! I have a decent waterproof jacket, and I KNOW I won't melt! And think of the gas I'll save.
Part of my incentive is: I'm leaving for France on June 8! And you've GOT to walk in Europe... it's one of the reasons French women don't get fat.
I'd love to have you join me! Think of the wonderful conversations we'll have on the way!
