Let's each set our goals for the week here, and report in either daily or weekly, whatever works best for you.
I have set a goal of 17 miles this week. I'll keep you posted!

I'm going for minutes rather than miles. Friday it took me forty minutes to walk a mile and I was hobbling when I got done. Yesterday (Monday) it only took twenty five!
I'll walk 100 minutes a week, shooting for twenty at a time but leaving some wiggle room if my knee protests too much.
Monday: 25 minutes
Tuesday: 0
Wednesday: 20 minutes
Thursday: 20 minutes
Friday: 30 minutes (feet are twanging, but knee is fine!)
Saturday: 20 minutes

Well, I walk the dogs every morning (0.6 km), and usually every afternoon (longer distance) (yesterday the exception as I had a dental appt and the family did it instead).
Also, short walk at lunch if the weather holds. May soon start bringing gear and hitting the trails nearby (gotta make sure there's no - or very little snow left).
Gym last night - 18 min on treadmill and 18 min on stationery bike, with weight training in between.

Goal - Walking to and from work (total of 2 round trips), in addition to my daily exercise.
Monday - Where there's a will there's a way ;). It was too icy in the a.m. to walk to work, so I made up the time and distance with an indoor walking tape.
Tuesday - Done
Wednesday - Done
Thursday - Done including extra since Friday will be short ;).
Friday - Done (or will be if I want to get home for my lunch :p)!

My goal is to maintain my 15 minutes (or more) a day by getting in those quickie walks. I don't want to set anything more than that til I am feeling a little better :-)
So far .... Monday I think I got about 10 minutes in, but I wasn't counting.
Today I KNOW I got 15 in, as I got a different bus and had to walk 8 minutes to get to my therapist's office *grin* Then of course, back to that bus to catch it back to work.
Wednesday 15 minutes (maybe a bit more, but at least 15 according to my M&S post)
Thursday 30 minutes (yay!)
Friday 40 minutes
Saturday 20 minutes
Sunday: 30 minutes with my grocery run

Thanks for asking, Sherry! Maybe "exploding" was overstating it. It was supposed to be a rest day after a busy weekend, but it ended up being one of those days where e-mails flew fast and furious all day, each one leading to something else I had to do! My college group has 2 performances this weekend, and a lot of it was in preparation for that, and their Monday evening rehearsal... which did NOT go all that well, by the way... They will need some prayers on Sunday evening! Add to it the fact that I snapped at one of my ringers for making what I felt was a mouthy remark... I think a lot of us are feeling ready for semester's end!

Uh-oh... that is NOT like you, Stevie... I'm sorry it's been such a week...
Well! Let me tell you what you've done for ME! :D I'm walking! And, mostly, it's all YOUR fault!!! :p
Thank you for getting this challenge started...

Yes! Thanks, Stevie. Your timing was perfect for me. I'm invigorated and I feel much better about myself. I'm back in my groove.
Sherry, you're sure pickin' 'em up and layin' 'em down!:)

Wahoo! That is such great news! We're walking together, and I can only imagine the conversation and the laughing that's going on!
This is as much for me as you guys... I need to give myself a little kick in the pants too. Again today I let unscheduled surprises get in the way of my exercise plans. I was planning to walk this afternoon, but I got home from morning rehearsal to find my youngest son home to do laundry. I ended up cooking him his favorite meal (kind of a Spanish Rice, REALLY spicy) and we hung out together all afternoon, watching old episodes of The Sopranos while his laundry dried.
I don't regret it for a minute, either! However, I've got some major catching up to do over the next few days!

Oh, Stevie! Oh, my goodness! I, too, would have skipped the walking/exercise to spend that time with my son! You did the right thing! Remember, we're not striving for perfection, but OUR best! :)
LOL, Carol... "pickin' 'em up and layin' 'em down"! Haven't heard THAT for a long time... thanks for the smile!!!

Yep, that Son Time was so precious. Still makes me smile... DH is out of town and, being a recent empty nester, I've seen how a bustling household can turn awfuly quiet overnight.

"Singing.."I'm walkin'....yes sir ree!"
Hey Stevie, I was ringing the walking bell flying through O'Hare on Tuesday and Thursday with heels and suitcase in tow--I am thinking extra credit here!
Back home now and will join actively with this walking group, thanks again Stevie!

"Yeah, but..." :D It's certainly NOT dead, my friend!!! ;)
It's POURING down rain... which is NEEDED, not only by the ground, but this body needed a break, especially in light of the fact that we're going climbing again tomorrow. With as muscled fatigued as my legs are, I wasn't sure I could walk three miles today, AND climb/walk a 1/2 UP, and slide a 1/2 mile DOWN!!! :)

Stevie - Son time is very precious and you can make up those miles any time :)!!! Now don't quote me on that as I'm pretty sure I'm damaging my whip-cracking reputation here :p!
