It has been a long week at work and I reached the back door last night and my cell phone was ringing--work! The person calling is delightful and knowledgable but new as a supervisor and really needing alot supervision from me. I was exhasted and really didn't want to rehash a meeting earlier in the day at 4:30 on Friday.

As she started talking, I noticed whoa you are being so negative, look at it a different way, reframe your mind into some positives. She rattled on for quite awhile, at a very intense almost manic kind of pace. I put my work folders and purse down on the patio table, sat down, listened and then said, "wait a second here, you are thinking this through with such a negative slant, how about looking at it with some hopefulness or positive steps. We just had a great meeting with a judge who got us into the chief judge for an appointment, what is wrong with that outcome?" But Billie she said, it shouldn't be that hard!!! With that I thought, oh dear person, life shouldn't be that hard for sure but it is and we can't trip on the negatives, we have to keep moving on the positives.

When I saw this quote this morning, I thought, hmmmmm how much this applies to all of us. It is so easy to get down with the negatives, we forget about all the positive things happening, we forget to be optimistic about the future.

Today I hope we can shine some light on the optimisitic side of eating well and getting healthy, it makes the road so much darn easier to travel.

Hope your Saturday is wonderful, looks like rain in Central Illinois all weekend, being optimisitic about it--great weekend to take in some movies!

This reminds me of something the yoga teacher, TKV Desikachar said. He said that when a student comes to him he focusses on building up their strengths. We can't always get rid of problems, but we can always emphasise the good things.

I'm just off to see what good things I can rustle up for lunch :D.

How many times, years ago, did I wait for my little boy to do something even a little bit right so I could praise him instead of focusing on the things he did wrong (which were many sometimes)!

I always find positive people more enjoyable to keep company with than negative people. Lord help me remember that when I'm grumpy!

I hear ya Carole! I too have that philosophy I would much rather hang with people "that fill up my gas tank" than those that empty it.
