Why all the talk about cholesterol?
Why not forget cholesterol and focus on the things that CAUSE CHD like
Having an elevated bllood sugar, insulin, blood pressure, stress, homocysteine and poor nitric oxide levels
The Cholesterol Theory of CHD isa failure that has distracted us for 60 years.

People have questions about cholesterol, Razwell. They ask those questions here, where we share our information and experience, and the studies we know about. People also have questions about ketostix and ketosis--we answer those questions, too.
As to the discussions about elevated blood sugar, insulin, blood pressure, stress, etc.--you'll find those discussions in the other forums in this section.

FWIW, I asked my doctor twice about measuring insulin and he said the tests weren't very useful. A1c is an indicator, I guess.

Doctors are so narrowly focused on treating symptoms that they miss the forest for the trees. HbA1c is good for getting your average Blood glucose levels for the last 60-90 days. Great for monitoring someone who is already a diagnosed diabetic. I think Insulin measurement is very useful. It would be a measure of insulin resistance. There are people with normal fasting glucose readings whose Insulin levels are very high. The very definition of insulin resistance. They just happen to have very strong pancreas that compensate for the insuling insensitivy by pumping out increasing amounts of insulin. But they too will eventually devlop diabetes.

was this a rhetorical question directed towards "the public square in general" or was it directed particularly to people on this forum and their focused discussion threads?
No offense - but it strikes me as an odd way to phrase a first post at a forum like this.
