"I never fail. I just make 10,000 mistakes before I get it right".
Anonymous

Enough said perhaps? :) But you have to love the attitude of never failing and to keep going and going and going. There's another quote, can't think of it exactly that is somewhat parallel to this one, "there's only one chance at life". Gosh I guess we are proving that wrong big time.

Big our mistakes do add up. As AliB always said, "every bite does something to our metabolism:, can you imagine what 10,000 wrong bites would do?

I thought today would be a good day to stop making the 401st mistake, or the 6,847 mistake and try to instead put in place a string of events to make all our mistakes a big success. It's not to late to start to do things the right way!

Have a great day on program!

Great thoughts, Billie, and a great quote from our own AliB :D! You are both so right on - we all make mistakes, but the important thing is to learn from them and to not keep repeating them ;).

Here's to a mistake-free day for everyone here :D!

Wasn't it Thomas Edison who said something along the lines of those people who were successful at something had tried it in various methods numerous times before succeeding?

Something along the path of those who keep trying accomplish; those who stop along the way never know how close to success they were before they quit trying.

Why do we stop trying? Mistakes are part of the human process, and should be our learning curve. We are all different and learn differently, whether it is through our own mistakes or from observing the actions of others.

Each experience is a new challenge, and should be approached as such.

Now, I should hang up my ramblings and remind myself of them when I decide to berate myself for not accomplishing exactly what I anticipated.

If I thought of this as a project to be completed, I'd get discouraged. It's just the way I live and I try to handle setbacks in my food intake just as I would in any other circumstances. I fall down quite a lot, actually.

CM, yes, it was Edison...something about trying for electricity thousands of times before the light bulb actually glowed.

It's a great focus, Billie...and now I'm going to have to go find that Edison quote, too!

The quote I have on file that he supposedly said is:
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

Sometimes I get paralyzed and don't start becasue I am afraid to fail. I am afraid to waste the paper. I am afraid I won;t have the patience to see it through, or that it will get uncomfortable .

Lynn I have felt that paralyzed feeling about many things, I totally hear you on that one! Somehow maybe a small step gets taken and I make it, but sometimes those small steps are the biggest!

For me, I grew weary of "try, try, try again"...and several times I grew very frustrated....but, not now, BECAUSE of all those "try's" I learned more and more and kept my ears and eyes and mind open for new idea's...and then suddenly it just seems to have all "fallen" in place...and that place is here. :D

Now I know that my success's aren't just luck...but improvement. And, I'm as optomistic as EVER!

Lyn, sometimes I will start a project, get stuck, and leave it for a while. Later (sometimes much later) I see it in a new light and get back into it. Remodeling, sewing, writing, photography, anything! Don't ever give something up as a lost cause. If you think of your drawing/painting as therapy, it's well worth the paper, right? If Edison tried 10,000 times to make a light bulb that suited his purposes, what's a ream of paper? You're expressing yourself!:)
