Good morning, everyone! Here we are at the start of another week. I'm going to focus on adding back in time every day to focus on flexibility - sadly, I've been neglecting that. So many things to do, so little time ! My lineup for the week looks like this:
Sunday - Total body weights and flexibility stretches
Monday - Cardio with flexibility
Tuesday - TB weights or circuit and stretch
Wednesday - Cardio and stretch
Thursday - TB weights or circuit and stretch

I will also be getting in my extra walking for the challenge on the M's & S's thread :).

I'm going to see if I can stay with my "normal" level of yoga postures for a few weeks. Between illness, dentists and builders, I have been just doing what I can recently. The builders have nearly finished, and I hope most of the rest is over too! So I want to make sure I get back to where I was in terms of strength and endurance before I try anything further.

It will be raining here, heavy, every day this week so almost everything will be inside.

Sunday: Day Off
Monday: 2 hours turning a wet garden and laying down ground felt to avoid weeding this year. I transplanted chard and some Spaghetti Squash. 60 inclined sit-ups and 15 minutes of hand weights in the evening.
Tuesday: 1 hour weights/crunches/stairs at work over lunch
Wednesday: 3 hours in the garden - everything planted but a few more Spaghetti squash. Layed out slats and patio stones
Thursday: Day Off
Friday:

I'm trying for simple this week to see if I can ease back into exercise without feeling guilty when I don't get things done. I've had both stress and health stuff in the last couple weeks, and I don't know when that will clear up, so for this week my goal is going to be:

At least 1 upper body exercise day this week
At least 1 lower body exercise day this week
At least 2 core exercise days this weekThe days may or may not be 4 separate days, since I'll often do upper body and core on the same day.

Well, I've done my one upper body and one lower body workout for the week, but I think core is going to have to wait for a while. I've been having some abdominal pains and had an appt on Monday (after I posted my weekly goals :p). I'm now scheduled for an ultrasound at the beginning of next month to try and figure out what's wrong. In the meantime, all the palpitating, poking and prodding the nurse did during my examine has managed to really increase my pain levels. :(When I tried to do my ab vacuums, I started to suck in my gut and after pulling it in *maybe* an inch, I realized that any type of ab exercise was NOT going to happen. :o While my pain today isn't quite as bad as on the day of the exam, it's still enough that I think core is going to have to wait until the doc can figure out what's causing the pain and make it go away!

What's weird is that the pain isn't too bad in the mornings, but by evening all I want to do is lay down and try to ignore it. I think sitting all day at work is putting pressure on something - bleh. I've thought about doing my ab exercises before work, but then I thought about how I felt after what the nurse did and decided maybe that wasn't such a good idea.

So I'm adjusting my exercise goals for the next couple weeks (maybe longer depending on what the doc finds) and will just do upper and lower body and wait on core stuff. I just hope that whatever is wrong isn't too serious!

Because of that, though, I'm going to try to get in one more exercise day this week - probably upper body, but maybe I'll do both upper and lower on Saturday.

Mary,
Definintely take your time. It isn't DOMS and you could be damaging yourself if you push it.
All teh best in getting back on track.

Mary - I agree with Randy that you don't want to exacerbate whatever is going on. So take your time, get well, and I hope it's a minor problem that can be soon solved :)!
