Every day do something that will inch you closer to a better tomorrow.
Doug Firebaugh
Are you still working on the basics every day: Protein, carbs, supplements, water & exercise? Even if you feel you’re not making as much progress as you planned, you’re moving forward, and at the end of the month you will look back and see it!
My water intake is getting better every day. The rest is pretty much routine. I got an extra hour of sleep last night, but I've got to work on that area! I was so tired when I went to bed that I forgot to take out my contact lens (I only wear one) and I didn't realize it till I sat down at the computer!
Breakfast will be a strawberry protein shake. I bought some organic cinnamon and the flavor is wonderful. It didn’t cost any more than the McCormick, or whatever it is I usually buy. Lunch will be chicken breast. Dinner will be Mexican beef stew from the crock pot.
We're in our cold snap now. The temp is -3F and the wind chill is predicted at -10 to -15. Several years ago, my son installed a remote starter in my old Blazer and on days like this I love it! I just hope old Bessie starts.
Have a wonderful day

Good Morning!
My water intake is increasing too! I love how much easier it's getting.
My Carb intake is in the target range. My Protein is out the window good!
My breakfast is quiche (from yesterday) Yummy! My lunch will be mall food. I am sure the carbs will be higher than normal for one meal but I do plan to keep it in range. Supper is Baby Spinach Salad and cube steak.

Good morning everyone!!!!
Whew its a cold one here, they cancelled the buses but I still have to be a school. Arrghh!!
Breakfast was 2 small porkchops with 1 tsp of sweet chilli sauce
lunch will be a flatout wrap with lettuce sandwich meat and havarti
dinner: ?????? it will be something quick (probably a shake) as I have a haircut right after school and then curl at 7pm.
Notice the ticker, yep whoooo hooo the scale has consistently been sitting there for 3 days so I decided to change it. Soon I will be in the 70's!!!!

Just a quick good morning. Scale was down another pound this morning, in spite of a horrible dinner last night. VERY cold here (35 as I'm typing here in SC). Supposed to be even colder tomorrow and over the weekend. Hope I can stay out of the hot chocolate. It's SF, but still 10 carbs/package.
Had my usual shake for breakfast. Have some cheese, turkey and roast beef on a LC wrap and baby carrots packed for work and 3 water bottles so I should be set for a few hours.
Hopefully I'll have better news to report on the eating front tonight. So far I'm 9/13 (since I didn't start til the 2nd) on my goal of 23/30. 2 weeks to go, I have got to do better.

Greetings everyone~
It is about doing things so that the todays are actually our tomorrows, Carol, I agree!
We got back from Colorado and had a wonderful time but unfortunately were not so strict on plan. The interesting thing is both of us had the will to be on program but we simply caved. Yesterday however we got back on that horse,
Late Breakfast was: eggs, sausage and low carb bread.
Snack: ham, cheese, salami, nuts
Dinner: Chicken spinach lasagna, that left my drooling,
Today: Eggs for breakfast, left over chicken spinach lasagna and not sure yet about dinner.
Like many places in the country Chicago is in a deep freeze. -4 is actual temp and -25 with wind chill...my positive side of things says, "you gotta burn more fat in that kind of weather"...or not but hey it might work for my mantra today! :D
Morning all.
I assume Jackie could beat me...but today I'll recording -20F (-29C) as my drive to work temps. With wind it's -42F (-41C)!!
It's cold, but really, if you dress for it (and stay inside ) it's not so bad!!
We did wake up to a house temp of 53F!! That was a bit too cold, so we turned it up and all was fine. Found out we needed a new battery in our thermostat! WHEW...with GF laid off we certainly don't need to be buying a new furnace!!!
Food is planned/packed. NO exercise today...no time.
7:30am cau-sau casserole, 4slice turkey bacon
11am caesar salad (almonds instead of croutons), 2egg
2pm 3.5oz pork chop, iced latte
6pm chix breast, dreamfields with parm/butter, mixed veggies
Pro: 124.4
Ecc: 30
Fat: 133
Cal: 1944
Thought I'd let you all know...we're warming up here in MInnesota...
it's now -19F (instead of -20)
It's a regular HEAT wave...

Only if you are outside and shiver in it.
I personally am trying to get back to il dolce far niente. The sweetness of doing nothing.
When you get down to it, our country was founded by religious zealots who were so strict, Europe essentially kicked them out. A lot of their protestant zeal is wrapped up in being busy all the time. I for one am for opting out of this cultural tyranny. I am going to enjoy being unbusy. I am going to enjoy the busy parts as well, but I am not going to feel lost with empty time.

Keep warm, everyone! I'm glad I put a new battery in my car just a few weeks ago. It would not have started today for sure!
Becca, have you ever thought of a hot cup of beef or chicken broth instead of hot chocolate? It only occurred to me today when I read what Puddin wrote on another thread. I've used that between meals before, or when I'm not feeling well, and it's a very substantial drink.
Billie, I'm glad you made it home safely! Glad you got back on the horse, too. I think it takes a few weeks of induction to stop the cave-ins; at least that's been my experience.
Okay, Amy, you won the temp contest. For INSIDE temp! Good thing it wasn't the furnace...
Jackie, I'm at school today too. We've got students, though, so it must not be too bad. It was a good morning to stay in bed, though, wasn't it?
dreamfields is giving out coupons again!

we-re expecting record lows tomorrow - in the 8 degree range.
I don't mind it - but don't know how I'd deal with it all the time.
Just wanted to check in and say hi to everyone. I just read DR. Mikes blog from 1-12 hope everyone checks that out. Its kind of our chance to hopefully change the minds of the people at the usda. Not likely i know but if it helps change things a little it would be worth it. So i hope everyone will go to the blog and make their feelings known. Have a nice night everyone and for us midwesterners dont go out unless you have to.

Agnes, I kind of like the colder weather. I prefer it to the sleet and freezing rain type of winter that we've had for quite a few years now. Today was like a good old traditional winter. Of course, my car started, or I'd be in a different frame of mind. :D
LBJ, there are a lot of good comments on that blog.
Feelix, congrats on the five pounds! It's not beginner's luck, it's because you're working the program.
Making Mexican barley soup for the boys tonight. I can eat it too, but I've already had a meat and cheese wrap and I don't want to eat that late at night.
Now I have to put together those photos for the Winterfest contest and fill out all the forms because tomorrow's the deadline. The Geezer has volunteered to take them to the museum tomorrow. Trouble is, I don't feel like it. :p But, it's gotta be done!

I was outside without a jacket and it was chilly! :O)

Hey all, just checking in. It was cold here today also, hovered around freezing all day and foggy to boot. But not as cold as you folks northeast of me.
Had eggs and smokies for breakfast today. Used up the last of those things, so now I can move to a more quality protein breakfast. I wasn't really hungry when I fed the kids lunch. Daughter wanted green beans for lunch, so she ate half of the can and I ate the other half. Ate 3 tablespoons of roasted garlic hummus while I was making dinner, which was BBQ chicken pizza on flatout crust. Hubby liked it so well, he said he could eat that at least once a week. Also had 6oz red wine. Drank my water, took my supps, exercise was cleaning the house like a mad woman and rearranging my daughters bedroom and our living room.
Totals: 81g protein, 26g ECC, 85g fat, 1354 cal
Random number generator has been kind to me, when I stepped on this morning it showed I was down 10 lbs from start date. That's great positive reinforcement, helps me just say no to that great big pan of banana cake that I made for my husband to take to work. (He forgot to take it to work, so it was sitting around staring at me all day) But 10 pounds gone and more to follow is far sweeter than any piece of cake I could eat. But seriously, he needs to take it to work tomorrow, for sure.

I can so relate with this more so now then I could have a week ago! Success can help with the small food decisions...

Food for Wednesday:
Protein: ~190

Total cal: ~2300 (I ate too much at dinner, but didn't seem to bother me)
Food for Thursday:
