My results....

Back in June 08:
Total Cholesterol: 255
Triglycerides: 801
HDL: 30
VLDL: Could not determine
LDL: Could not determine

My VLDL and LDL were incalculable (LabCorp testing) because my Triglycerides were too high.

My new numbers January 09:
Total Cholesterol: 178
Triglycerides: 159
HDL: 42
VLDL: 32
LDL: 104

I have also went from 178lbs to 157lbs and blood pressure went from 120/80 roughly to 110/70 roughly.

My doctor said it was a "remarkable" turn around. Back in June he was ready to put me on Simcor and being just 43 years old I wasn't ready to start popping pills just yet. He said he has never seen "just diet" work that well. I suggested he buy a copy of Protein Power and read it.

Critchie, that is awesome! We may not need proof, but it is always exhilarating to read success stories! Will you be joining us on the board?

I visit from time to time but I'm not much of a poster. But with results like this I felt I should share with all, especially those who might be on the fence about a low-carb way of life.

Excellent job of taking your healthcare into your own hands. Glad you shared! You think he'll read the book?

Great news! It's amazing what can happen to us when we stop eating all that artificial food and get back to healthy eating. I just began my low carb journey a few weeks ago and look forward to the success that so many at this site have experienced.

Wow, how encouraging! I am just re-starting my low-carb way of life. My husband doesn't believe in low carb and is constantly telling me I'm eating too much protein and "how many calories does that have?", etc, so it's a challenge. I've given up before because of it and have always gone
back to sweets, sweets, sweets...

I'm so tired of it, so once again have come back to what I believe really works. I just need to prove to him that it works for me!!
