Doubt can only be removed by action.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

If you’re not sure you can follow the Protein Power plan, start doing it today! The first step is the hardest. We’re here to pull you along! Right, gang?

My breakfast will be a protein shake, lunch a serving of cauli casserole, dinner will be left over roast beef. Snacks will be almonds and Lindt.

How is your day looking? Do you need any help?

Billie

Do I ever need help? The minute we don't think we need help or support or caring or confidence or pushes or shoves or words, is the moment we lose it, at least I do! So heck ya Carole, bring on that help!

Coming to the board each morning really helps focus my day, thanks for always framing the mind in not only a thoughtful way but an inquisitive way, you rock woman!

Today two important meetings but not traveling too far, guest for dinner tonight and Gabe is making chicken picatta with capers for dinner, I am in charge of the salad and dessert.

Hellllllo Monday!

Doubt. A word that has creaped into my life over the last year. It is a word I struggle with daily to avoid. It has not been that long since I have started the committment to PP, but I am determined to be healthly and leave doubt in the dust.

Yesterday was a distaster! We had a ridiculous warm spell hit when everything was still frozen. My gutterrs were still frozen, so all of the icing on my roof that was melting FAST started coming in my house, in every room. I am trying to sell my house...and needless to say all of the ceilings are going to need re-painted. I could only get a hold of one contractor yesterday because it was Sunday - and he could not fix the problem and was not sure it could be fixed!!! I was hysterical! The first thing that popped into my head when the contractor left was to order a bunch of junk food, sit on the couch, eat and cry. Well I did the crying. But I took a second and thought if I ordered and ate the food, what is exactly is that comfort that I may feel for a moment going to make me feel like tomorrow. We all know the answer to that question. So opted not to sabatoge my hard efforts. Let me tell you it was difficult.

Anyway, I hope all of you had a better weekend!!!

Duchess, that is a huge step! Putting mind over the emotional hurdles that we sometimes do to ourselves is a great step, good for you!

((((Heather))))) So sorry for all that turmoil but girl you rock !!!

You took charge and came though like a champ. It can be so easy to let something like that sabotage your efforts!

Well Done Dutchess. Everything that breaks on a house can ultimately be fixed with the application of money and time.

For me, back to work today. Tired from being off schedule this weekend. But, in the flow. Much more relaxed, despite much to do on the Citibank project. It's really a matter of a lot of small steps. And we know what a lot of small steps totals to (either a journey of a thousand miles or a well worn ring in your carpet). At home, I am making stellar progress on the iTunes project. A-M + S-Zw + 1-10cc. Leaving N-R + ZZ Top + 10 Years After (maybe). Amazing that this disaster has turned into an opportunity for improvement. I would call it the Steve Austin music library, because it is better than before.

Food will be good today. Second day in a row. Weight is a little up from the BBQ dinner on Saturday. Espect it to come off fairly promptly. Was a lot of calories (half rack of spare ribs (very lean for what they were) plus a side of pulled pork, plus two sides, plus about 1/3rd of wife's beef brisket) a lot of sodium and the odd amount of carbs in the mac and cheese and the half bbq beans and the sauces). Was really great, was very carefree and then we went home and I didn't have ice cream (had a random thought about getting some gelatto) or some movie candy (we went to Walgreens, I passed) or anything besides a bit of dark chocolate. Nice.

As I said, I expect the rebound to be gone promptly, like Wednesday or Friday.

Hello to everyone else! I'm up to my eyebrows in paperwork, but I'm getting answers and I can see my path. That beats being frantic and thwarted, any day. :)

I just finished up my cauli lunch. The smell of cooked cauliflower was completely overwhelmed by the smell of garlic my boss left when he warmed up his spaghetti. :D I'm hoping he doesn't call a meeting this afternoon! :jawDrop:

I'm packed and ready for the gym tonight.

I need help :) :) :)

I know, I've been MIA for a few days, but just due to being super busy. I'm feeling really tired and run down, I don't think I have been sleeping well.

I had 2 grillers for breakfast, 2 atkins bars for a snack, and now I am having a hot dog with LC bread for a late lunch. I plan to take a nap and then go to the gym to run for 75 minutes. Dinner will be leftover chicken and salad.

Well hello... been gone b/c I've been SO busy. My dryer started making this wacky terrible noise... it's 8 years old.. so my FIL came over and we discovered the problem after much examination. A wire from one of my bra's had gotten into the drum, then into the fan blades causing much ruckus! When he got it out he said... what IS this? I was like, "um, a wire from one of my underwire bras! I've been looking for that!" Needless to say, he was rather embarrassed. I really wasn't, I don't get red over stuff like that. But I did get tickled when he looked at it and I imagined him trying to figure out HOW that it went into a bra?

So in the meantime I've been drying the laundry on the clothesline outside.. and least the weather has been nice, and I got plenty of sun those two days before it was fixed.....

Also played volleyball in the 74 degree weather here.. ahhhh it was nice.... The problem over the weekend with all this stress over the dryer and the in-laws for dinner on Sunday is that I didn't have ANY time to check my food intake, and I know that I went over at least on cals those 2-3 days... so back on track today hopefully..... so far so good.

Beware the Atkins bars. They are typically filled with a bunch of chemical crap. They are also fairly low on protein. They are also fairly caloric. But, mostly, they are filled with stuff that stalls a lot of people.

yeah, well, I'm just really stressed out right now so until my proposal is finished I need foods that taste good and are not loaded with sugar.

Rough day, I was feeling very ill this am. I did not go to work and was thankful as we had freezing rain all day. Turned out that kidlet #2 felt ucky today too, so I had him home from school.

I made a big decision today, I declined the high school job that was offered to me. it was a term till the end of June, but I knew I would not be happy there. Too much politics!! There will be some opportunity for another term this spring so I will keep my fingers crossed.

I didn't eat much of anything today and didn't drink nearly enough. I think I will have a strawberry shake for dinner and then start sipping herbal tea, to try and get in more fluid. Tomorrow will be a better day. Scale is still down and I am convinced that trying to stay away from the scale was STUPID!!! I will weigh my self as much as I want and I will not go crazy!
Have a great evening all!!

Just don't let the scale dictate your feelings and emotions. That can sabotage you. It's only a tool and not a decisive determination of your progress. The number will go down when your body says, "I don't need this pound to survive, it's time to let go." I use to let the scale discourage me - but, I don't any more. And I'm so much more at ease with lc and my progress. JMHO!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Hope you're feeling better tomorrow.

Possibly. I don't even have a clothesline any more and besides that I'll be at work. :p

What a funny story about the underwire in the dryer! I can just imagine the look on his face.

Glad you enjoyed the story Carol... I would send you the nice weather.. but it just doesn't work like that... If it did, I would have you send me 2 feet of snow so I could go sledding just like when I was a kid...

So got some sun.. not a whole lot b/c it was 4pm before I even got outside... but my 3 yr old wanted to golf... I had to dig a hole in the ground and put a plastic cup in it so he could have the "clink" sound of the golf ball going in. Oh, did I mention that he was using the butt of his toy rifle as a golf club. too cute.. sometimes I just love him... :O) So I remembered DH had some old clubs in the shed, got it out for the little guy and he exclaimed, "oh, AWESOME!" Where does a toddler get this from!? I enjoy his antics though.

Cute golfer Lisa !!

I just finished giving my Yorkie a bath a long long bath as he ran up to a skunk on our back porch tonight.:eek: I used his shampoo and tomato juice and he doesn't smell to bad now-- but our house isn't smelling too good at the moment--don't anyone come visit right now, hear.

We have candles burning everywhere and I used deoderizing spray (and I have Vicks under my nose) This too will pass.

I had to bring the little guy in, I sure couldn't leave him outside and he had to have a bath so that was it. The sacrifices we make for our pets !!!:rolleyes:

No wonder you forgot.. you had something stinky to deal with! Though I secretly enjoy the mild scent of a skunk ...... ONLY when it is very mild.. I think it reminds me of where I used to grow up as a kid.. they would get run over, and then stink up the whole highway and everyone's cars as they went by. . . Yeah. I'm wierd. I guess it's not a secret now. LOL

Lol , Lisa-- I would certainly send you some if I could !!

The bathroom I bathed Samson in is the "smelliest"--so far I have used spray, have candles burning and have mopped with bleach water. Any other suggestions for me to get rid of the odor??? Would appreciate it a lot.

I used tomato juice on the dog and he smells okay, thank goodness.
