MARY HAD A LITTLE LAMB, A LITTLE FRUIT, A LITTLE JAM, A LITTLE TEA, A LITTLE CAKE and NOW SHE HAS A TUMMY ACHE!!!!!!

Just to let everyone know what can happen when we decide to overdo the CARBS! Was remembering the funny made up nursery rhymes from when I was a kid and came up with this one. Sort of fits the weekend of S. Valentine when some of us ( me included with 5 dried figs) got off plan even that little bit. Funny how if Mary had stuck with the lamb, the fruit and maybe a bit of mixed greens, all those tummy problems wouldn't have occured.

So today is Sunday. It is cold, windy and sunny here in my part of Italy. Am in the midst of a cleaning frenzy and am due to get the whole house cleaned and sparkling by Wednesday when I have to do the huge grocery shopping for my 22 guests Sunday 22nd. It is going to be a really neat lunch. We're starting with 5 antipasto salads...all PP approved so that I can have a bit of each. Will post them after I'm sure of the recipes I will use. Then I'm making roast boar, stewed boar and polenta (neither stew nor polenta for me ). Green salad. Fruit. And a pinapple mousse which I am going to try to get into PP mode. Will be tough because I don't have any kind of sweetner. Keep you all informed as progress is made in the recipes.

Today's meals were
BFast 1 measly HBegg....it was late and too near lunchtime
Lunch - baked salmon steak, coleslaw, ittybitty apple
Dinner - grilled eggplant crust with inside a creamy cheesy eggy quiche
Snack - chocolate 85% almonds

PS: water 1.5liters
supplements - yes
Exercise - heavy housework and ladder climbing up and down
Proteins - still around 120-130
ECC - still hovering at 20-30

sounds good to me!

Since we nornally combine Sat & Sun on the weekends, I started with a quote on the Sat. thread. Moderators do what you can to combine these. Thanks.

Puddin, thanks for posting your wonderful limerick! It is fun and makes me smile!

What a huge undertaking, I will be watching for all your updated information on the event. My youngest son and his wife are leaving for Italy March 14th for some time in Rome, Venice and Florence, any idea what the weather should be like and any most sees that are off the tour trap of the usual?

Yesterday we went to a movie, did a little shopping, had a latte out and split a scone. No not on program but it was our Valentine indulgence. So nice to not have the computer on, no blackberry, just us, just the way it should be.

Morning all. It's only 6:30 where I am but I've been up for an hour...off my home row I guess (my computer says CST is 8:30 so makes sense I'm awake).
Today we really travel. First is the mad dash to get everything into the car so we can be on the road by 9ish. Then lunch in Bellingham, then cross the border to Canada, then on to the resort! Whew...
It's only a 4hr drive, but because of the lunch/border/TERRIBLE small road into Vancouver/it being a holiday weekend...it could take us 8 or more!:frown:

I will have a fully charged laptop, two books, and a handheld trivia game in case we want to get an all-in-car-involved game going. It will be fun (I hope).
so far the SIL has been pretty sane. This is nice because usually the sanity is only 50% of each hour. HOWEVER, that being said, today will be the super crazy day, so we'll see.

This is also the day that I have so very little control over food. I'm already hungry and am on my own for breakfast (whatever I find). They are a whole grain family so they kept mentioning oatmeal and dark wheat rolls (). I will see if I can drum up some eggs and we brought turkey bacon, so since it's "on my own", I'm going to make sure I have what I need.
For lunch we're going to a burger joint (http://www.boomersdrivein.com/). There are waffle fries and milk shakes, but I am just having the burgers. Even if I end up eating TWO!
Supper tonight will be at a place called Mountain WoMan Fish in Canada. This is after the stop at "Tim Bits" for donuts. I will skip the donuts, not really my thing anyway.

At some point we are having lasagna...can't decide what I'm going to do about that. It's a premade number or I would have suggested we use dreamfields. We'll see, made that will be a meal GF and I go out for and have some "romance".

Good morning all, very cold here today. I am still all stuffed up, but will get over it. The over the counter cold remedies are helping, but are definitely making me retain some fluid. Small price to pay for being able to breathe.

Breakfast: Shake

Lunch: tuna salad

dinner: yet to be decided

I have two curling games this afternoon, so I may have to have chili as that is all that available at the rink that is remotely something I could eat.

Have fun on your trip Ammy

Morning all....

Nice and sunny here today, much better than yesterday!

I've had my bacon and eggs this morning already.

Lunch will probably be soup.

Dinner is the Baton Rouge chicken we didn't have the other night, carrots, salad (and 1 Pillsbury roll to put out the "fire" from the chicken).

Maybe some tuna and almonds in there as well, have to see how the day goes.

Am cleaning the oven as I type. The M&C last night bubbled over quite a bit (and even caught on fire!) so I've wiped up the excess and have the self-cleaning thing running.

Not much else on the agenda today, laundry, bit of office work, catch up on TV perhaps. I'm using today to 'relax'.

Relatively light day planned today.
Breakfast in the house (maybe a shake, maybe I will be motivated to some egginess or bacon or something)
Lunch out, undecided.
Pick up a perscription (the Illinois laws to keep people from tweaking on amphetamines are really a PiTA for those of us who have legimate use for them).
then a whole lotta whatever.
Then dinner. who knows what. Maybe leftover pot roast.

A ranch or blue cheese dressing on the salad will do much more to quench any spice induced fire. Carbs offer very short relief. Sugars enhance hot. Consider: Mango salsas, red hots, real General Tso.
On the other hand, you never have a rich fat added to things that are hot.

The true best way to unlight your mouth is with milk. This I have learned from many experiments both bad and good. The worst way to do it is with water.

.

Sent you a PrivMess for the info for Europe. As to the weather the best way to see that is to click onto a site called FirenzeMeteoRepubblica (newspaper) which gives wonderful weather reports on the cities in Italy and around the world. When you get to Firenze, clic on SINTESI and a week's worth of weather pops up with little pictures explaining the situation.

Would suggest they dress in layers. It is the simplest way to travel.

As for the EVENT...will definitely keep you all posted.

Amy, enjoy that vacation for all of us.

BC - sooner or later I'll get the thing figured out. :D

Becca, when we travelled lots in Mexico and those areas they doused our oral cavity fires with honey...in PP I think that Max's suggestion is the best - a bit of milk or cream.

Well we're here...8hr drive and totally stuck in Vancouver with silly roads, terrible traffic and lots of people!! UGH.
Food has been just fine though...even was able to watch the rest of the crew go to Tim Horton's so they could get a box of 'Tim bits' that *I* had to hold in the car so they didn't eat them all...
(tim bits are hot fresh donut holes)

then we got to the resort and all the food is at the other condo, so we (over in this condo) had to go grocery shopping. I found some beef hotdogs and a babybel cheese, and some very yummy grapes.
I'm a bit peckish now so I'm going to have some nuts, then to bed. My computer says 12:15, but the clock says 10. I FEEL like it's midnight.

Good night everyone!
