Having a positive mental attitude is asking how something can be done rather than saying it can't be done.
Bo Bennett
Protein Power involves some new ideas and one that required a leap of faith for me was including fat in my meals as a positive component. When I tell someone that I can eat steak and have cream in my coffee and lose weight, the look on their face is wary. :)
What's happening for you that you hadn't expected?
My breakfast will be a raspberry shake. Lunch will be leftover pot roast. Dinner will be pork chops and a salad.
The weather is holding, but it's supposed to let loose tonight. We might get one more snow day out of this winter yet! Did I mention that was one of the benefits of working for a school district? :D

What did you know I am meeting with my board of directors this morning and that is about 50% of their attitude. Don't ever tell me I can't do something, that is the exact time I will show you how! At least in work matters, not the program! :D
Even though I was on the road about 7 hours yesterday I did well. Even managed to get in some water which is always fun traveling, had a salad with chicken breat when we were out for lunch and frosted 12 wonderfully delicious lemon cut out cookies the shape of converse all star tennis shoes for my board meeting--without a nibble! Yes folks the dreaded walk across the state of Illinois is scheduled for May!
Hurting a little from the gym on Monday, what is that term Delayed Onset, something or other, hurt perhaps! ;)
Today I have a board meeting and they eat and I talk, but ordered a turkey and harvati sandwich wrap for me after. Then a couple more very big meetings this afternoon, tomorrow back on the road for two presentations and about 8 hours in the car.
Not complaining but working things around the job is very hard for me--anyu hints would be helpful!

I am struggling with this very same idea right now! Although my protein intakes are good, I am having a hard time looking at a piece of steak and thinking I can eat it and still loose weight....it is a hard concept to swallow. I know at some point I am also going to have to take that leap of faith.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!! STRESS!!
This is unanticipated, if it were anticipated then it would not be nearly as stressful!! Right? And I didn't realize how much this affects my cravings at times. Also, the no-wheat for me factor is overwhealming. But I just want to be healthy.

Morning all... I'm starting the day off (well did a few hours ago) frustrated! DD2 was to have a dentist appointment and apparently it was re-scheduled without my knowledge (doc is out of the office this week). Supposedly they sent out post cards, but I never got one. So that got the entire day off on the wrong foot.
Also raining like crazy here today so DH had to take one of the cars instead of his motorcycle so I'm left to taxi the DDs around and Wednesday is the worst day for that as they have all sorts of activities today. Happy note, I was able to attend DD1's "ring ceremony" at school. And I am off from work today (free time - yeah! smaller paycheck - boo!). Hoping to get some chores done around the house with fewer people under foot (DS is here, been here for 2 months and counting... will he EVER get a job?)
Had a rushed shake for breakfast (over slept then rushed - for no reason apparently :peeved:). Am HUNGRY now so will go get my snack, not sure what as I think I'm too hungry for my usual cheese, may go with bacon and eggs since I'm home - gonna be a high protein day if that's the case!. Probably leftover mac & cheese for lunch, meatloaf for dinner. I think, today is rather unplanned, will see how it goes.
Will check back in later!

At work, on plan. Have basically finished the brutal part of my work project. Now the finesse portions and the training portions. Working up a How To get access to the new system, then working up a How To Use the new system. Get to do training in Chicago, and then go to Philly in April, after France. Should be fun... if I get an overnight, I would love to see my friend from high school and her husband who live there. Haven't seen them since the wedding.
Did not sleep well last night. Wife was very sick. Like food poisoning or something. Wife never barfs, but she was last night. Took forever to get asleep, then had to get her some pills at 2AM. If she wasn't sick, I'd've killed her. So, I'm a bit zombie-esque today. Late to work (not late, but later than I get there usually.. gotta love the flex hours). *sigh*
Any rate, back to work for me. Later.

Hurting a little from the gym on Monday, what is that term Delayed Onset, something or other, hurt perhaps! ;)Delayed Onset Muscle Sorness, fondly referred to as DOMS. It means we're making progress!

My best trick is to plan ahead. Sounds like you're doing that already!
I am struggling with this very same idea right now! Although my protein intakes are good, I am having a hard time looking at a piece of steak and thinking I can eat it and still loose weight....it is a hard concept to swallow. I know at some point I am also going to have to take that leap of faith. We understand, Heather. All I can say is that it works for me. I have very few weak moments on protein/fat, whereas carbs sink me like a torpedo. Fat is what we burn for energy on this woe.
Ilike proving others wrong too, especially with this WOE!!! My friend is a WW fan and is always counting points. She can not believe the amount of dairy I consume and still am losing weight!!!Fun, isn't it, Jackie? :)
Hmmm...positive mental attitude...yes, THAT is what I need today.
I can move my shoulder today (thank you wonderful masseuse!!).
It's still sore and there are some movements I can't do because of the pain (like raise myself up).
So, I'm skipping the ice skating today. The idea of falling on my shoulder is not good!
I am going to swim with them, then this afternoon I think I'm going to go tubing.
Tonight we have a date...we're going out for indian food. This is my honey-tree meal... NOT DAY, just meal.
We may have a date tomorrow as well, not sure about that.
Anyway...it's time for breakfast!

Hang in there, Becca! You can get it back under control!

My trip to work was uneventful, although sloppy. My roast beef lunch was delicious. I found a vehicle on our e-bulletin board that looks like it would work as a replacement for my dear old Blazer, but I have to check with my panel of experts. It's a GMC Envoy and I know nothing about them at all.
Gotta roll up my sleeves and get back to the stack on my desk. :peeved:;):D

Hi folks, I decided to go volunteer at my old Head Start Center today so didn't do much of anything but that this morning. Now I'm pooped --surprising how 20 little ones can just wear you out !! But I did enjoy it.
Another excellent quote ms Carol !! I am a believer that attitude is everything!! Go negative and you are soon on a slippery slope leading toward self-fulfilling failure, or go positive and achieve things that were thought to be impossible. All in the mind, our choice to make.
Heather, one of the best books I have read to help me get over the "fat is poison" idea is "Good Calories, Bad Calories" by Gary Taubes. He takes all the studies and theories and blows holes in the ones that won't stand up to scientific scrutiny. Well worth the read. Mayhaps it will be at your local library.
I know it is so hard to eat fat when all we have been bombarded with for years is low fat this or that. I certainly had a hard time with it !!
Well, I will check in later with my counts. Have a great day. Take card of your shoulder and etc, Amy !! (But have lots of fun)

Hi, Challengers!
I haven't been home much to post, but I've been thinking about you all and wishing you good things.
Hope all of you had a fantastic Wednesday! I've got a lot of reading to do. I just can't keep up since I'm not home to read as much as I'd like. Hopefully, things will settle down in the next few days.

Amy, nice to know you're okay! I've been thinking about you and wondering how you're doing!!!!

Carol, I sure am glad I'm not looking for a vehicle!;) I had an 1989 Blazer once and I just loved it. In fact, I really miss it. I could really have fun in that baby!:D Our Suburban is too clunky for that!
Meals have been sporadic today.:o
German pancake with blueberries and whipped cream about noon.
Making some goulash now - 7:30ish - P.M.
It is so bad to eat this late. But, I haven't been real hungry today. Let's hope when I do eat - I don't go hog wild because I'll feel famished then. I have a bad habit of getting hungry after 7:00 and then, want to eat for the whole day. It's a bad habit. I'll keep my snacks to only lc.

Hi, today was good, after thinking about it a bit (from reading other posts) I think I am going to lower my protein intake--starting tomorrow. I just don't think I need to be eating that much protein.
Protein: 119 ecc 27
fruits/veggies: grapefruit,strawberries,cranberries,mushrooms, lettuce/tomato salad, green peppers.
See all tomorrow.

My dinner turned out to be five chicken wings and some slivers of smoked Gouda cheese. I feel like I need some vegetables, but I'm not hungry. I had berries for breakfast, but maybe some blueberries and cream would be good later.
The Geezer said I don't want the Envoy. :p It's got almost as many miles as my Blazer, even though it's much later. Pooh!
Karole, I have backed off a bit on the protein too, just a little. I'm in a stall right now and I need to shake something up.
The weather is closing in on us. The drive to work is not going to be fun tomorrow!

Reporting in. Am so tired today, not a good way to spend the day off from work - well not when you want to get caught up at home. Ended up taking a nap and I am NOT a nap person (except when sick or pg). Have felt out of sorts pretty much all day... hungry a lot too :(
Protein: 159
Carbs: 54
Water: 96
Supps: no

Nutsy day. Lot of customer service getting in the way of my bigger projects. Full moon, maybe. Stressful and badly slept going in, so there is that.
But, food was solid:
Protein: ~125
Carbs: ~20
Cals: At the lower end of my target range
water: good.
Call it 47/48 - 97.9% for the year.
