A successful individual typically sets his next goal somewhat but not too much above his last achievement. In this way he steadily raises his level of aspiration.
Kurt Lewin

So, what shall we do next month? What would enhance the progress you made in February?

Breakfast will be a strawberry/cinnamon protein shake. Lunch will be cauli-bake. I have some cheddar/moz cheese sticks for a snack. Dinner will be something out of ground beef, I think. Maybe a mushroom-swiss burger.

I really liked the February challenge as it gave me something in addition to shoot for. So my vote would be something like Basics +2. Or perhaps we could be challenged to learn something new about nutrition or exercise. Several years ago we did a challenge where we shared with each other what we'd learnedk, and I found it very helpful.

Today will be in the mid-80's, so I'll be outside for a good part of the day. Hoping that we'll get some rains this Spring, I want to mow the overgrowth and get the trails walkable again.

I'm off to eat breakfast: LC cereal, milk and grapefruit. Lunch will be venison "something" with salad and baked sweet potato (this is an experiment to see what it does to bgs.); supper my standard cheese, apple, wine. In between nuts, dark chocolate and strawberries. I might even melt the chocolate and dip the strawberries for a special treat.

Have a great day, everyone. :)

I like that quote. It's what I'm aiming for this year. I'm trying not so set goals so lofty that I give up too easily. Also why I'm doing my "mini challenges".

In spite of the not so hot eating the past few days (well Friday and yesterday) I have actually managed to drop another 1/2 pound. I had gained some during my Dreamfields experiment and am working on losing that. Still think some of it all may be hormonal. Only time will tell I guess.

Breakfast was my typical shake (chocolate whey, cottage cheese and almond butter)

I have cheese and one of the "Italian chicken" leftovers from the weekend. What we refer to as the "white" one (as there are 2 Italian chicken recipes in my various boxes, the other is "red"). A bit more cheese than usual, it just sliced off that way and I didn't bother to trim it back as I'm hoping to eat enough earlier in the day so that I don't give in to tempation at dinner.

Which is...... National Pancake Day at IHOP. For the most part I'm not a pancake person, but the only ones I do like are IHOP's. I've resisted them plenty of times in the past, and if I don't go in there too hungry I'll be fine. Taking a new book (out today) with me so that will keep me distracted!

Tuna and almonds in the afternoon. Am already missing my Lindt.

I remember that. I think we started a sticky thread just for the information part.

I like that quote. It's what I'm aiming for this year. I'm trying not so set goals so lofty that I give up too easily. Also why I'm doing my "mini challenges".It's a good plan, Becca, and it seems to be working! Way to go on loosing that half-pound!

Last time I was there, I had a great designer omelet (no pancake batter please) and walked away full. Is their non-breakfast food good?

I am supplies with healthy snacks today (unlike yesterday) and I had real cream in my coffee. I'm interested to see if leaving the little flavored creamer cups alone will make a difference for me.

Where's everybody else?

Finally sitting and finally able to think without stress. Today there was a windstorm which sort of blew the world in various directions. Mostly from the north and very chilly. I braved it though and sat outside to read. Sun was incredibly strong and I now have two very red cheeks. Actually look healthy, despite the 3kilos, read that carefully folks, THREE whole whoppers which I gained after all that bread. Living proof of how bad the stuff is for ya.

Anyhow, I think that you're right Becca. Setting goals which are reasonable certainly helps to get to them. And the quote you put today Carol is definitely right up my alley. I lost the 12 kilos easily and now I really must set the goal of the last kilos at a level which doesn't frustrate me. So a bit of an achievement becomes a roaring success because it really happens.

Today's numbers should be really good

Protein so far 60 (bfast and lunch summed together)
Ecc 22 summing breakfast and lunch together
Supplements - always
Exercise - no, unless you consider heavy gardening exercise. It was mostly weeding and a bit of howing, didn't do the back 40 though:lol:
Water - already at 2 liters cus that bread is still giving me problems and I am sooooo thirsty

Put a few recipes before internet crashed so I am still ahead of the challenge. Want to put in a couple more before the challenge finishes though.

Next challenge. Gee, wouldn't know what to ask for. We already share so many things...:D

I don't know where to talk to this. I honestly am at a loss for words. Yeah, that sums it up.

Setting goals which are reasonable certainly helps to get to them.
Setting the bar where you do not need to stretch to reach it is not a productive use of time. If you aren't failing to meet a goal from time to time, you probably aren't setting them hard enough.

I applaud the accomplishment. Now push it one more notch. you will not learn about yourself unless you are trying hard.

Today is another day in the quest for 90%+ for the year. Working working working.

Well DH specifically asked if we could go there tonight. Apparently they're giving away a free short stack with every order. I'm not crazy about their non-breakfast stuff. DD always orders chicken tenders and if I get something with pancakes she usually winds up with mine. I'm sure I'll be fine. :)

More interested in getting into my book. I suspect I won't be sleeping much tonight!

I have had very little time to get to the computer lately.

Breakfast: shake with coffee
lunch: 1 hard boiled egg, 1/2 cup cottage cheese and 8 sm slices of pepperoni
dinner: taco salad minus the tacos with lettuce and spinach

Have more to do.

Exercise - no, unless you consider heavy gardening exercise.Well, I might! Lots of bend and stretch work. Shadow is our resident expert, though, and she differentiates between activity and exercise.

Setting the bar where you do not need to stretch to reach it is not a productive use of time. If you aren't failing to meet a goal from time to time, you probably aren't setting them hard enough.I agree with that.

I'm not crazy about their non-breakfast stuff. Well, then I won't go out of my way to try it. Let us know how it went when you get home. If you're not too into your book.

I have had very little time to get to the computer lately. And we're glad you check in, Jackie! It helps for accountability, but sometimes life gets in the way.

Sounds good, Jazzy!

The Geezer met me at the gym tonight! I was so tickled. He's trying very hard to overcome inertia and make it a habit. He's only made it about ten times or less in the last six months and it's time to renew.

Well I am into my book, but updated my Fitday and came to report in. :)

IHOP was packed out the door so we didn't stay. DD1 then started whining about no pancakes.... she rarely gets them even when we go places that serve breakfast as mom has a "no carbs w/out protein" rule and so she gets her chicken tenders (not great, but there's protein in there somewhere). So we went to Denny's. I did a make your own slam with eggs and bacon and ordered pancakes which I gave to her. Though they sat on my plate right under my nose while I ate the other stuff.

So I did great! :D

Totals for the day...

Protein: 157
Carbs: 17  most of that was my shake this morning
Water: 112
Exercise: scheduled day off
Supps: nothing other than my MgK in the mornings

See you folks tomorrow!

You sure did! Good job! Don't stay up too late reading or you won't feel like exercising in the morning.....:paranoid::slywink::lol:

Another day, another victory. It's time to crank up the standards. Hello March.
53/54 to date, 98,15%, 16.16% of the way to a victorious year.

Numbers:
pro: 162
carb: <10
Water: Good
cals: ~1700

Thinking about next month, I think I'm going to define my calories more stringently, like 1700 +/- 250. And add supplements back in.
