The most useful piece of learning for the uses of life is to unlearn what is untrue. ~Antisthenes
We all learned a lifestyle that was possibly not the best for us. It takes time to unlearn what is deeply ingrained. What a sense of freedom there is when we begin to feel better and look better and get more out of living!

I wish I'd unlearn staying up late to watch the news! :p

Breakfast will be a shake, lunch will be cauli bake, dinner will be steak on the grill if the weather co-operates! The Geezer is volunteering for that gig. My contribution will be to make roasted potato wedges, which we all like, and my mission is to keep them off my plate.

Have a good Friday, everyone!

Morning Carol!

I'm up early, guess cuz I actually went to bed early and fell right to sleep!

Shoulder is being nice to me this morning as is the scale. One more pound is away :D

I think the daily weigh-ins are keeping me on track. I know last night when the planned dinner fell through it passed through my mind to get burgers (cuz I was set on them) elsewhere, and that elsewhere would NOT have been LC friendly as I love their fries as well. But I reminded myself that the number on the scale has been steadily dropping and I didn't want to interfer with that so I didn't even suggest my fav. place.

Today's menu will be shake for breakfast, cheese and some leftover chicken for work (and a bag of peanuts as I may be working late so want to be prepared), tuna and almonds this afternoon and the burgers and carrots tonight.

When will the March challenge "sign up" be posted?

To unlearn what is untrue...that was so hard for me to FACE, but once I just wiped my slate clean and was open to new truthful things, l was able to lose 120lbs and improve my life!

Today is the day AFTER the closing. Yeah...
Last night the boss took everyone still in the office out for supper. I had left already (thank goodness-I had enough of the boss and the office!!), but I heard from people that he just kept saying how he could not have done it without me...
Nice :).

Today will be a short day (I hope). I have a lot to do, but nothing that is a rush. whew

I'm not sure I've been eating enough fat, cause I just want to MUNCH at night. The other thing could be that I'm still recovering from the "habit" of eating right before bed during vacation. I would usually have some stupid silly thing to eat (one bowl of plain lettuce!!) while they ate their carbage, then we would head back home and then I would eat and go right to bed. Eating before bed is a TERRIBLE habit for me.
I haven't done it since vaca, but I WANT to!!

8:30 cauli-turkey casserole, diet v8 juice
12pm 6oz beef, flatout wrap, salsa/s.cream
3pm iced latte, 1oz nuts
6pm ribs from Fridays (I never know how to record these in fitday), chef's veggies

I dont' know these counts because I can't figure out how to calculate the ribs?????

But I reminded myself that the number on the scale has been steadily dropping and I didn't want to interfer with that so I didn't even suggest my fav. place. That's the best incentive I can imagine, Becca!
When will the March challenge "sign up" be posted? Ummm....when I get time. I'll shoot for tonight after work.

...but I heard from people that he just kept saying how he could not have done it without me...
Nice :). We all need that once in a while. Good job, Ames.

I'm moving right along today myself. The hard part of creating the budget is over and it's all double-check and verify now. Much less tension. I even have a list of pro-active tasks I want to have ready before I'm asked.

Lunch changed to breakfast sausage patties and cheddar/moz cheese sticks, just to break the monotony. They used to BE the monotony before cauli-bake. I'll get my veggies tonight.

FATS are bad for you....to unlearn that one will take me a while but in the meantime I'm really enjoying PP and

LARD, bacon, pancetta, etcetcetc.

In the end it is just a question of trying really hard;)

World around me is quite silent this weekend. DH has gone to see our Florentines. Will be gone until Monday afternoon and I am now the official gamekeeper. Will have lots to do these three days. Do, however, intend reading and resting under my quilt with the company of my dogs and cat.

Proteins today should peak around 100
Ecc around 40
supplements of course
Exercise not much but tomorrow will be a busy day

water...gee, think I didn't drink my usual 1.5 liters. Strange

In any case I'm off to the kitchen for some dinner. Then I'm hitting the hay with a book and the gang. For some reason, when DH isn't home I love lazing away in bed early evening. Nothing like a cozy quilt, warm pups and a purring cat to help you relax.

Good TGIF folks. Back to you tomorrow morning!

Good afternoon everyone. Excellent quote Carol its really hard to change after being told even from doctors that the low fat approach is the way to go. We here fortunately know better but it is still hard to wrap your mind around something new. It was the concept of burning fat for energy that turned me around not to mention the health benefits with this woe. My hope is that one day this will be the new standard woe but im sure it will be a long time for us to see it happen.

Where is everyone?

Well here's my totals for the day... had the munchies this afternoon so more cheese than normal, and DH served me 2 burgers, though 1 wouldn't have been enough really, so I got a LOT of protein today. :)

Protein: 172
Carbs: 31
Water: 128
Supps: yes
Exercise: yes 3/3 for the week :D

Looks like we're back to the old faithful, Becca. I just had that same thought towards the M&S thread. The new year's rush is settling down. I wish my gym would thin out a bit. Lots of enthusiasm there!

Or....maybe it's just a super busy week?

All I hope to accomplish this weekend is a neat and clean house. :)

Here are my final counts. I had a full rack of ribs last night, sauce on the side. Man, fitday says something like 55g of protein, but there is NO WAY I had tha much...just not much meat on those things..
Anyway, here's my best guess.

Pro: 153
Ecc: 43
Fat: 102
Cal: 1802

Make sure you're being accurate as to spare ribs or baby backs. Makes a lot of difference. Also, the St. Louis style spare is a lot leaner and less meaty as well than full on spares.

I was on plan. We went to a new restaurant. I got a sausage sampler and then medallions of flat iron in a wine sauce. Mashed potatoes with gorgonzola were tasted to about a quarter of a forkful. Had a cappuccino after. Overall, very low on the day, with dinner a bit higher, but nothing I couldn't handle.

Was busy as all get out at work, and had nothing to add to the lack of conversation here.
