A habit cannot be tossed out the window; it must be coaxed down the stairs a step at a time.
Mark Twain
March will be focused on coaxing the bad habit down the stairs. Please give some thought to the HABIT that is most likely to TRIP YOU UP. What POSITIVE ACTION or NEW HABIT do you think would BOUNCE it down the stairs? Make it your NEXT STEP.
EXAMPLES:
• Exercise – a new one or a change in your present one. That might serve to shake your body up a little.
• Education – research an aspect you haven’t paid much attention to in the past. It might be re-reading the PP books or checking out the latest scientific articles or seeking to understand yourself better.
• Enjoyment – as the “get a life” part of the program, explore an interest that wasn’t an option when you were all wrapped up in the struggle of “dieting”. Enjoy your freedom and celebrate with a new hobby. It might be as simple as playing with your children or your pets more.
• Use your imagination and have fun with this.
You can share your step with us or keep it to yourself. I’ll just ask, once in a while, how it’s coming. Don’t lose sight of the steps you’ve taken to get this far! You’re keeping the old and adding the new.
We’ll start on Sunday, March 1. Posting daily isn’t mandatory, of course, but I strongly recommend it. It definitely keeps me honest and current.
WHO’S IN FOR THE MARCH CHALLENGE?

Count me in, Carol. I'll ponder what habit I want to break/ make and reply later in more detail. There's so many to choose from! :D
I'm IN!!! I am willing to coax and coax...

I'm in for sure! As you know I've already started my March, with the addition of exercise 3x week so that's my "new habit".

I'm in --but don't know yet which of my many items I need to lose. I do think I will read PPLP again. There is just so much info. I wish I had my Good Calories , Bad Calories too. I loaned it to a friend to read some months ago and he is on a Cruise ship in or around Austrailia for a while longer (he is a medical officer so that is why he's away such a long time) He'll be back in April and I will re read it then.

Just remember, my friends, you don't have to tackle everything at once! :) Just pick one, or maybe two if they're related.
My GCBC is still in storage with the rest of the books we removed when we updated our living room. I also would like to check out some of the items I highlighted when I first read it.

Will work out the details, but at the minimum:
daily 3g of DHA/EPA
100mg of CoQ10
Daily vitamin
May have others at work, but that is the minimum.
I am in for 23 days. On day 24, we're going to France and I am not going to explain fish capsules and coq10 to French immigration and drug sniffing dogs. Nor am I worrying about carbs in Europe.

After pondering for a day, I'm going to tackle two "steps" this month. One is to break the grazing habit. Although I'm not gaining weight, I know if I don't get it under control, I will eventually begin to gain. So... 3 meals and one snack a day for me -- no more grabbing nuts or fruit or ...?... and downing them on the go. The other is to read GCBC. I've had it for months, but other than browse through it briefly, I haven't read it. The size and density is a bit daunting, but I'm going to do it in March! Actually, I think I'm going to adopt the motto "Just do it!" for March.

BC I'm afraid I do the grazing thing too. That is a good one to lose (habit) so if you don't mind I will be joining you in dumping the grazing part of my day. I am bad about grabbing a hand ful of nuts and walking around munching on them. They are now going to be out of sight and off the cabinet. Thanks for the idea !!

Great idea for both of you, BC and Karole! It may not be a serious problem, but you're being pro-active.
The GCBC book is daunting, and a fairly dry read, but chock full of information. Early on, I started marking the parts that meant the most to me so I could find them later without sifting through all the boring stuff.
Max, I will love to have you participate as long as you're here. I'm still chuckling about your very apt observation concerning the French customs people. That's just looking for trouble!

Okay, here's the regime:
Daily
2x Multivitamin
1x coQ10
4x DHA/EPA/CLA super complex
3x Revsveratrol
I might add magnesium, if I can find one I like at Walgreens downstairs.

March challenge as I said in the Challenge for today is definitely going to help me get the feeding frenzy habit under control or at least get that stallion on a short rein. Grazing? Heavens! Was doing lots of that before I started PP and now I think that I have gotten it more or less in control.
Will also work on the 'a place a special food'. I associate places with snacky foods - at the markets I love getting fruit and munching. At coffee bars a brioche (though at this point I am really quite good and not doing that) . I want to really work on the 'food association ' situations...tough to do for me but necessary.
GCBC must wait till I come over to the States. Will buy it right away and plow through in the 3 weeks I'm over. Put it in the suitcase and schlepp it home so that I can reread when home. Usually do that sort of thing on vacation.

I am in!!!! My coaxing will deal with the small steps I need to make on the stairs and to realize how easy it is to fall down the stairs if you don't take one step at a time.
I need to make this work, I have worked too hard to let this speed bump hurt me now.

Welcome in, Jackie! Sounds like we're just what you need right now! Funny how that works. :)
