Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.
Margaret Mead

What do you think of that? We are certainly a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens. Isn’t this like a grassroots movement? I’m more into setting a good example than twisting arms, but I think we can change the world! :)

Breakfast: Protein shake
Lunch: Leftover roast beef
Dinner: Chicken & broccoli

I just heard that the time change was coming up this weekend. If that's not a sign of spring, I don't know what is. And the weather is going to be more encouraging this week, too. I'm ready!

I am definitely committed...thoughtful...concerned!! :D
I believe in leading through example, and we are DEFINITELY setting an example!!

Here before work again so I can focus when I get there. Lot's of "figuring out" while I'm at work and it's exhausting my brain. But I did sit on the bed and listen to GF tell me all about her day (which was mostly describing the movie Frost/Nixon), but I need to make sure she gets time from me. I think she's lonely since she is unemployed.

Meals are planned. THe food I made this week is higher in cals than I like, I'll have to make sure and think through that for next week.

5am 2almond scones
8am cauli-turkey casserole
11:30 seafood bisque, 2chix thighs
3pm tuna/noodle casserole, 1/2 grapefruit
6:30pm turkey tacos

Pro: 155.5
Ecc: 35
Fat: 167
Cal: 1980

That looks like a lot of food, but they are small portions. Except lunch. I'm very full after lunch, but that has been my "big" meal of the day.

I just realized I forgot to weigh today! Silly me!

Actually think that Meede was right in saying this. If you think about the foundation of any particular human activity which changed history it didn't take thousands of people to think them up. So we're going to consider ourselves history changers. Right in the same lane as the new article Eades put in the site. Low carbers are definitely the new important history changing group no matter what the others say...gee, almost makes us feel important.

Today is wet grey and restful. Wet cus raining, grey for the same reason and restful because when the first two parts of the equation are positive, the second part is obvious - no work in the country!!! HURRRAYYYYYY! Only problem is that I'm not good at sitting inside looking for things to do. No cleaning is worth it cus the dogs filthy everything with wet paws. No knittin yet cus I have to save that for the evening...gee, looking rather bleak.

Meals today so far were good:
BFast artichoke omelette and speck
Lunch roast turkey and cabbage + half tiny apple
Dinner cauli cheese eggy thing
Snacks - probably turkey, half apple and maybe chocolate which I will not rebuy this month.

Morning all!

I just finished my workout for today (lower body and a stretching segment). Ouch!

I woke up around 4:30 or so with a headache, drugged it but by 5:15 was still awake and in pain so I got up and got started on the day.

Breakfast will be a shake (actually worked out first :) )

Packed for work: cheese, wrap and carrots

Dinner: Meatballs w/ spag. sauce, salad

Tuna and almonds in there somewhere. I'm still taking the cheese to work as I don't want to be caught off guard without food, not sure if the past day or so is the norm yet as far as hunger patterns.

Good Morning all,

Thank you to all of you who do set a great example and keep the rest of us on track. Have to go shopping today and replenish my stock of good food.

Breakfast: scrambled eggs with cream
Lunch: shake (hopefully I get some pumpkin for it)
Dinner: going out for my nieces birthday, I think a chef's salad may be on order.

I'm with you Ammy--I hope to set an example that shows how successful this woe/wol actually is. I have blood test results, weight loss, lower bp, reduction in medicines, more energy and etc.. to prove that it does work.

Some of my kids have paid attention, and if not complying 100%, they are very aware and have made significant changes to their life styles.

It's just so hard for most folks to give over their fear of fat since it has been the mainstream mantra for all these years. I have to say that was a difficult thing for me to do too at first. Finally believing that fat is good was a milestone for me.

"Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it." As soon as I don't carry a snack I regret it.

My take is something we learned in business school. If you are going to change the world (assuming it needs change) or your organization or your family, or whatever, you will have to change first. That change will make you more prepared for the changes you want others to do. And it will model the way for those who will follow you.

I am not at work today, taking the day off to meet Rick Steves and my new dermatologist. I had a good time at the new dermatologist (who is an MD, an MBA, and an MPH... I was impressed, but I don't envy her student loan payments). I had a good time until she gave me about 25 injections in my scalp. I now know why I don't have a tattoo and never will. Getting stuck with needles repeatedly is not my idea of fun. But, hopefully this will grow me some hair.

My not much action for a week day !!

It was another good count day with protein, calories, and carbs plus exercise so that is 3/4. Things are going good.

Totally exhausted yet again... for a PT job that's supposed to be 4-5 hours/day I'm working a LOT of 5.5-6 hour days (and it's the slow time of year!).

Glad I took my cheese :)

Protein: 184
Carbs: 39
Water: 128
Supps: just a few this morning
Exercise: done 2/3 for the week

I am going to bed!

I had plans for today, but they just didn't work out. I should really have known better because it was bill run day in the main accounting office. The scanner the phone and the instant message were working full time.

My chicken/broccoli stew didn't turn out well either. Too salty. :p I think I'll go out into the back yard and eat worms.

I did read Dr. Mike's latest blog and it fits right in with today's quote, doesn't it? Rather encouraging, I'd say. :)

Love that stretching you put as Avatar Max!

As for hair growing...ouch. You must really want hair. Here in Italy bald is really IN! In fact the guys who have hair are shaving it off...

I have small patches of no hair growth in an otherwise very hairy head. If I were to go bald, would have to shave head every day to keep appearances normal. As it is, I keep it longer and arrange it so I have "coverage". But, I'd like to solve this and have just the standard receding hairline. I can deal with that gracefully. It's the freaky spots that bug the piss out of me.

For the day, little weird, but just made it:
Protein: 145ish
Carbs: 38
Cals: 1700
Vitamins: Nope... didn't think to bring them home from work.
