There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when circumstance permit. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results.
Unknown
Are you interested or committed to living low carb? Do you still need more time to experiment? Is there something you just can’t give up—yet? :)
It’s a no-brainer for me, even though I struggle sometimes with overdoing a good thing. My diabetes is under control, which has my doctors all smiling.
Billie, I like what you said yesterday about seeing all the high-carb food containers on recycle day and realizing, by your reaction, how much you are into this way of eating.
Breakfast is the shake. Lunch will be sausage and V8 low sodium. Dinner will be something simple from the fridge, but filling because I have a music jam with food that I won’t want to eat.

I'd say that f or me the interest came first and then the committment. 3 years of LC and lots of good results - 12 kilos off and kept off. That's not shabby at all. I really am interested getting off those last 10 pounds but it's going to take a lot of committment!
Today will be a relaxing day even though I alread weeded in about 4 areas in order to try to get ahead of the unwanted green. A trip to the bookshop before I pass in the travel agency to pay my ticket. Gee only 2 months before I leave. Really getting excited.
Meals today:
Breakfast caulicheeseyeggy cassarole
Lunch - roast chicken carcass half apple and almonds
Dinner chicken, 2 practically bare beef ribs and salad
Snack - scones? not sure.

Morning all :)
I've had birds chirping outside my window for the past 2 hours :( Birds are nice, spring is around the corner, but when they wake me up and keep me from going back to sleep I'm not happy.
The plans look as so:
Breakfast: shake
Lunch: turkey and roast beef wrap (may add some bacon today)
cheese to work for who know when
Snack: tuna and almonds
Dinner: Baton Rouge chicken, some sort of veggie and hopefully a salad
Double duty at work today, I will be exhausted when I get home I know. So dinner may not go as planned (again).

I finally got my carbs low enough to supress my monster appetite--about 30g.
I'm doing yoga later.
Breakfast--three slices bacon, cheddar cheese, and peanuts
Lunch--chicked grilled with onion, fresh garlic, cheddar, and bacon
Dinner--cabbage lasagna (my own recipe with cabbage instead of noodles, marinara, ricotta, ground beef, egg, and parsley)
snack maybe after dinner--sugar free jellow/whipped cream

Today was a good day, Amy I feel for you I was there early last week and I did succumb to the pressure!!! I am back on track but the cravings were unreal. so I know how you feel.
Breakfast: Pear shake
Lunch: spinach, lettuce, tomato bacon and cheese flat out
snack: 1/2 cup of fruit (strawberry, honeydew, canteloupe)
dinner: I don't know but as I sit here, I am starving. Skiing all day with the kids at school. I think it brought about an appetite!!!
Carol I love the quote of the day, it is so true.

Wow, nearly 10 pm and still on page 1 of the posts? What in the world is going on?
I had a crazy day at work :( Stayed way too late and got stuck in rush-hour traffic, took me nearly 1.5 hours to get home.
So needless to say dinner wasn't what was planned ;) I was good though. I'm reporting short on water, but some of that is because I'm not sure of the size of the glasses where we had dinner and I wasn't tracking my refills, I only counted 2 (16 oz) glassfuls for dinner, may have been more.
Protein; 134
Carbs: 31
Exercise: done 3/3 for the week :D
Supps: MgK in the am only
Water: 112 or so
My grocery store has pork loin on sale this week, I'm considering buying one and doing it in the crock pot for "pulled pork". Something I've never done before so if anyone has a recipe or advice I'd really appreciate it. :)

Becca, nothing could be simpler; I do it frequently. I just put it in the crock, season it to taste and cook it slowly for hours. To pull it, I take my two four-tined meat forks and tear it apart. It usually shreds easily. Then I put it back in the pot with the juices and some barbecue sauce uncovered and let it simmer until it absorbs the juice. I don't eat it because of the barbecue sauce, but I'm sure you can find a way to fix it that works for PP.

Puddin, Amy, Jackie, Friendly, and Becca? You're right, the board kinda echoes like an empty room today, doesn't it? I wonder if everyone's weather was as lovely as mine. Maybe everyone is outside working in their garden! :D
No matter! We're certainly committed to being here! Sounds like everyone had a good day--made it a good day.
Friendly, I'm glad you got rid of the "hongries". :) It really does work when you get those carbs down.
Amy, I hope you made it through the day okay.
Puddin, your enthusiasm is contagious. :)
Jackie, do you put cinnamon in your pear shake?
Becca, I'm happy to hear you hung tight at dinner.
My dinner turned out to be chicken wings after exercise and sausage, cheese and almonds at the party. Absolutely satisfied. And I didn't mention this, but after I stopped using the flavored creamers at work, I went through several days of munchies. No surprise, but it makes me glad I stopped using those things. Now my morning BS is about ten points lower.

Great quote today, Carol. (Well, actualy yesterday as I'm posting late). I was interested in PP, and followed it on and off for years, ever since the first book was published. Well, in a way even before that as I had followed "Thin so Fast". But it took a diagnoses of diabetes for me to get really committed. But even after all this time, I have to say if I didn't have diabetes, I would not be as committed to this WOE as I am now. Funny thing about the threat of losing feet and eyesight -- puts diet really into perspective.
Had a great week -- on plan with both food and reading the Taubes book. It is so dense that I have problems reading more than a few pages at a time, so it will probably take me more than a month, but I'm committed to reading it as well as staying firm in this WOE. :)

I saw what happened to my older relatives and decided to try something different, and it's working. Did I tell you that since I stopped using those flavored creamers that snuck into my life, my FBS has been in the 90's? That's a 10-point drop! Live and learn.
I found GCBC quite dry, too, until I'd come to a part that directly affected me. Forge on! ;)

Carol, that is super about your bs dropping 10 points. Wow. Who knew.
How many of us are doing little things like that that actually sabotage our efforts towards better health. Doesn't hurt for any of us to step back and take a good look at all the details in our daily menu.
I bet if I ever would take the plunge and cut out all caffeine from my diet I would probably notice a difference in my bp. (althought it is still doing okay--but it would be absolutely wonderful to get off even this last pill)

That's fantastic! Just shows how we can mess up our systems with even "innocent" food additions. Great going!
And I will forge on re: GCBC. There's just too much good information not to.
