Hello everybody, I'm ready for the week! I feel a lot better (even if I've got an Eustachian tube dysfunction aka blocked ear which is a nuisance) and I did my M&S in the morning. Not much, but it was quite OK to start with.
Sunday - 5 min stationary bike + 10 min upper body + 5 min abs
Have a great week, all of you!
1.5mile walk. We walked to the grocery store and back..it's 33 here, so it's quite nice outside.
Now if only the sun would shine.

Glad you are doing better Adina !! Hi Ammy, how are you.
I did 10 min. on my elliptical and my dd came over and we went for a walk in the wonderful sunshine (and wind) for another 35 min. So 45 min. total.
Our day started out badly as we were under a tornado warning for over an hour early this a.m. and had to go to the basement. They said it was 2 miles away at one time, but I haven't heard of any damage yet. It may not even have touched down. Anyway, afterward the sun came out and it has been beautiful .

Got to the gym this afternoon, for 1 mile on the stair master, lower body resistance and ended with 2 miles on the bike. Plans for the week at the gym are
Monday, long all body workout
Tuesday, early morning cardio
Wednesday, upper body resistance
Thursday, day off
Friday, long all body workout
Saturday off

Off day for me today. The week is not shaping up too well.... DH was replacing a gasket on my car and realized that he was missing another part. It has to be ordered, so my car is out of commission for a while which means I have to taxi my girls around. Will really put a crimp in my morning schedule having to take them to school.
I'll try, no promises. Thankfully I don't have to be at work at a specific time, but I don't want to go in too late as I also have to leave in time to pick them up from school. They don't say much about my hours as long as the job gets done, but it's gonna be a rough week.

Starting the week out with a bang-- a 45 min. workout. I did the Over 50 DVD plus she has extra portions of exercises using weights and doing planks and box pressors and etc. so it was 35 min. regular workout and 10 with weights and etc. Good workout and my muscles feel flabulous er ..I mean fabulous. I do believe the serotonin or whatever has kicked in !!
See all you M and S ers after while !!

Adina - I am so glad you are feeling better :)! Way to go easing back into the exercise!
Amy - Way to go :D! Glad you're here with us this week!
Karole - Awesome start to the week for you ! So glad that tornado passed you by! I do believe they're endorphins but hey, seratonin is a feel-good thing too!
Billie - Great plan for the week !!!
'Becca - Just do the best you can - unfortunately, life doesn't always cooperate with our schedules ;).

I didn't get my exercise in this morning and tomorrow (and Wed) aren't looking so hopeful.
I WILL get my 3 times in before Sunday though. Thankfully I work different areas each time so 2 days in a row won't be a bad thing.
I considered going for a walk, but not worth risking the pollen. If I get sick,or even just a bad cough, it will take too much out of me for far too long.

'Becca - I love the determination to get those workouts in :D! No, the pollen wouldn't be good . As you said, since you work different parts each time, you're better off to go back-to-back than to risk stirring the asthma up :).

I have adjust my workout to accommodate a pinched nerve in my lower back. I saw the chiro this morning because it hurt too much to wait. With his permission I went to the gym tonight, but just biked gently and walked gently, enough to move the muscles. I thought it better than sitting in my recliner (bad) and it was feeling quite a bit better by then.

MUCH better than sitting in that chair, my friend ;)!
I rode 20min on the recumbant bike.
I only did 4.5miles and burned 150 calories, but it was something!

Hello everyone, my ears seem finally unblocked but wet cough continues - according to my doctor it could accompany me for a couple of weeks:eek:. Anyway, I feel quite good and here is my report for yesterday and today:
Monday - Pilates (warm up + abs) 15 minutes - that made me a bit hungry on that day of fast ;)
Tuesday - Tae Bo Get Moving +/-15 minutes

Hi all, well so far I did 10 flights of stairs to work my glutes. Then 25 min. on the elliptical and it was on level three so I just left it there so it could work my glutes more. I usually have it set on one but dh must have increased it last time he used it. Then I did 10 min. pt. exercises/stretches.
We are supposed to have our line dancing practice tonight , but with them forecasting the strong thunderstorms and high winds I think I will be staying at home instead.
See all of you laters.

Shadow, I really like your new signature quote!
I'm a lot better today, but that spot still aches. I plan to just bike and tread again today. Maybe a few arm movements, but no heavy stuff. No sense in riling it up again. :paranoid:
Karole, you rock!
Adina, that seems to be the way that it's going around here, too. Take care of yourself!
Amy, it's discouraging to me to see how few calories those things burn! I try to ignore that readout.

We are doing it, trying, moving, motivating, lifting, running, stair-stepping, pilating, yogaing...:D...our way to good health!
YEAH FOR ALL of us!
Just got back full board resistance today, did 7 minutes cardio warm up on stair stepper, and then 1 mile on bike to end. An hour all together, another one in the book!

Passing through. Nothing done today and have to take DD1 to the eye doctor for her yearly check (as well as cart DD2 to school in there somewhere too) tomorrow so nothing for me.
My current plan is to do my upper/abs Thursday, lower/stretching Friday and my mix on Sunday.
I'm already missing my exercising :(

Hi! I felt supple enough to add some weight training to the bike and the treadmill. I reduced the weights considerably and kept it to the upper body, then I noticed an empty arc trainer, so I did five minutes. :D I was careful. It no longer hurts to climb into the car and I'm not getting any discomfort, so I think it's going to be okay.
I walked 1.5miles in the cold/wind today.
I also did a 20min upper body and butt/thigh workout.

I agree with Shadow, Carol. This is soooooo great. What a difference in your whole life, huh.
On that Over 50 exercise dvd I have-- the trainers are two English ladies and they speak of the thigh muscles as being very important and call them the "freedom " muscles. They are talking about they keep us free to get up and down and move about and also keep us free of the nursing home when we're in our 80's. I read a book lately and the doc who wrote it also spoke about the folks living in the nursing homes today and unable to walk simply because they failed to keep using their leg muscles til they got to the point they simply had to use a wheelchair. How sad to think we do things like that to ourselves when it is totally unecessary.
Thank you Ms Shadow for flailing that whip over our heads !! Your knowledge and encouragement has meant a lot to all of us.

Sad but true, Karole! We tend to take for granted that because our bodies work now, they always will. I tell you, living with and caring for a wheel-chair bound person helps keep me focused on what needs to be done!
