They claim red meat is bad for you. But I never saw a sick-looking tiger. ~Chi Chi Rodriguez
Red meat is not bad for you. Now blue-green meat, that's bad for you! ~Tommy Smothers
Good morning! It’s a double-header today. I couldn’t decide which one I liked the best. :)
Breakfast will be the shake. One spoonful of ricotta cheese makes it a fantastically creamy drink. Not sure how that works, but I like it. Lunch will be yet another cauli bake. Dinner will be hamburgers.
Doctor appointment first thing this morning for an eye infection that I thought was allergies. Next, the big-time budget meeting. That will probably last all day. I’m looking forward to Saturday for warm sunny and music.

Morning Carol!
I love those quotes. Remind me of a couple of Facebook Flair buttons I have... one is similar to the second "Red meat isn't bad for you, fuzzy green meat is bad for you" and my "PETA: PEOPLE for the EATING of TASTY ANIMALS". :)
Woke up too early again. I really thought that would go away with the time change :( And realized that my changing the dinner plans last night has left me in a bind for lunch today. Wasn't thinking that far ahead as I had planned on leftovers for lunch. Will have to see what I can scrounge up in the kitchen to take.
Will be working a half day (for me) today as DD1 has an appointment with her orthopaedist about her back. Have to meet her at home so she can leave the car for DS to pick up DD2 from school. Then go out to find camo shirts that she needs for school.
Another insane day in my life!
Will check back in later.

Morning all.
Today is GF and my 5year anniversary! WEEEEEE! :D
It's been tough decided what we should do...we don't want to spend any money (thanks to unemployment) so we rented movies last night ($5 for two movies - had a coupon). Also, we're going to pick up Chinese food at our favorite place. I INSTANTLY decided to have fried wontons and sesame chicken......then realized what i was doing...:suspicious:....and have decided on cashew chicken or beef and broccoli and NO wontons :(.
I'm not saying I won't eat any rice (not a huge fan) or an egg roll...but 6 fried cream cheese wontons and a HUGE container of SWEET sesame chix would be MUCH worse for me. Either way the MSG will affect me and cause me to balloon. Good thing I don't choose Chinese food very often.
6am lc scone, diet v8 juice
8am cauli-turkey-casserole
12pm turkey noodle casserole (this was good this week, might make it again), 1/2 head of romaine (no dressing-LOVE crunchy romaine)
3pm 2oz cheese, bran crackers (this is a maybe as we will eat early tonight
5:30pm cashew chix or beef and broccoli, maybe a fried egg roll
I will remind myself today that tonight is a honey tree MEAL, not a honey tree DAY!
LOVE the new meat-old meat quotes Carol! Becca, your day sounds TERRIBLY hectic, I don't know HOW you do it!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, AMY!!!!! :D:):D:):D:):D (We serious need some fun smilies on this board!)
Great quotes, Carol. And I love Becca's "PETA button".
OK week so far, although I fell off the wagon a bit. Maintenance is an interesting critter as I try to find the ECC level that doesn't raise bgs. but satisfies my desire to try out foods I haven't eaten for a while (can you say "homemade bread"?)
We had a whole day of rain on Wednesday -- the first serious rain we've had in over a year, so I was doing a happy dance. More wonderful wet stuff is expected today as well, but it might be snow instead of rain. But wet is wet. Just wish it wasn't so cold-- didn't make it to 40F yesterday and today is supposed to the be same. But I'm enjoying a roaring fire and getting some reading done, so really can't complain.
Have a great day everyone! :)

Morning ladies here, and all to follow.
Scale moved. Was starting to wonder there, but it's on it's way down 2 days running.
Tommy Smothers has obviously never seen a dry aged hunk of beef.
http://www.metropoultry.com/webres/image/dry-aged-meat.jpg
Trim the edges and you have the BEST kind of steak (my neighbors around me, in Chicago, are thinking I'm nuts, since this is more of a Wet Aged town, and they are wrong about that... really wrong). Flavorful and tender. MMMM.
Check prices here in Chicago for Dry Aged Ribeye at David Burke's Primehouse:
http://www.brguestrestaurants.com/restaurants/menus/BDPH_Dinner%20Menu%201-30-09.pdf
The stuff that used to be blue green (done the right way) is the best stuff (although Midwestern customers seem to have lost their taste for it... weirdos).
Today:
I finish the union travel project. At least the heavy lifting, soul crushing part. I cranked through 8 of them yesterday (takes about 20-40 minutes per). Amazing. Last one is done today, and he shouldn't be that bad.
Then, on to the refused travel charge project. Whoo-HOO!

Happy Anniversary Ammy and GF! 5 years!!! Super!
Max sort of like looking into the meat fridges in Tuscany where the Chianino is aged! Wonderful meat and very PETA! Becca that was super.
Life under the Ligurian sun is rather chilly and sunless today. We're having our usualy mid March chill-out just to remind us that MNature is in control. Finishing up the last olive trees around the house, did the pear trees and the bouganvillea (rust colored) so hopefully everyone will start growing and blooming.
I am feeling rather bloomed myself. Have tummy bloat today. Could be the dinner last night which had more salad stuff than I usually eat. Also did eat chocolates so I really am paying the price for those - swollen. Today I'm doing penance with a lovely roast turkey carcass. The lady in the butchery thinks I am nuts cus the people here buy turkey carcasses to boil for their dogs I chuck mine into the oven and munch it myself. Maybe by tomorrow my tum will be less swollen or I will start gobbling.
Gee, today is Friday the 13th. Do we care? No...
In Italy it is bad luck on Friday the 17th. Do we care? No...
That quote was really neat Carol. Red meat is fine to eat in ITaly but throw out the fat please. The green stuff isn't even considered much less the blue.
I'm spacey today and don't know why. Probably because I went to the Chiroprac this morning and he lenghtened my neck Must have gotten at least 10 kinks out of my back and neck. Feeling rather swanish at the moment. Probably will be back to normal when the beagle sleeps on my head tonight. Carol, Cleo is nicknamed BEAGLCUDA because when she was little she seemed a beagle and baracuda combination. Ate everything in site, destroyed the rest and bit the world just like the fish.

Well, I blew it last night at dinner...I could have chosen a low-carb dinner while out with Mom, but didn't.
Today is another day!
So far I've had a cup of coffee and a South Beach "cereal bar" (10g protein, 12 ecc)...not much, but I was in a rush to get out of the house today due to oversleeping!
Lunch is coming up...fasting blood sugar is at 180, so I'm going to make some good choices and not screw that up! (Still not perfect, but this is an improvement over past blood sugar checks!)
Steak and green beans tonight for dinner! My favorite! :)
This weekend will be a challenge...I have not one, but TWO birthday parties to attend, and temptation will abound. I think I can make better choices this weekend than I did last night, though!

Happy Anniversary.. Ammy.. I have my upper body work out done.. WOW.. I did it.. NO more procrastination. NOw i will try to do a 30 minute walk this after noon.. Gotta bust a move here. Yall have a great day..
Thank you everyone for the anniversary wishes. :D:D:D
And I'm happy to say I have NOT blown it today in preparation of the honey tree meal tonight!! It's hard (someone just popped popcorn in the kitchen  ) but it's NOT for me. They set the bag of popcorn right by the Chips Ahoy and the M&Ms...I only know this because the guy in the office next to mine is a chocoholic and when he walks by my office he's usually eating something from "the food cube".
Well, okay, I knew about the Chips Ahoy because they were MY food. If you wanted to make me happy, you gave me Chips Ahoy and then didn't say anything when I finished off the entire package in one sitting (with glasses of milk of course!).
Ah...memories. I don't want to re-live them, but they are something I don't want to forget!
Anyway...I'm enjoying a nice iced coffee. Carb-free flavoring and 1fl ounce of half and half. Yummy......

Quick update -- I got a grilled chicken salad w/ ranch dressing at Sonic for lunch. Ate all the chicken, didn't eat all the greens...it was a mighty salad, and I got full pretty quickly!
Now just need to make sure I get my water (no problem), take my supps, and get some exercise in today!

Morning all.
Today is GF and my 5year anniversary! WEEEEEE! :D
Becca, your day sounds TERRIBLY hectic, I don't know HOW you do it!
Happy anniversary - enjoy your Chinese. I think honey tree meals are allowed for that occasion :)
I don't know how I do it either ;) Probably why I so often cave to comfort foods for dinner but do okay the rest of the day - pure exhaustion. I'm sure on days like today my cortisol is through the roof as well which then impacts the scale. Such is the life of a working mom.
Doc say she's in good shape, all cleared to do whatever she wants (we had a question about roller coasters), but some things (like abdominal crunches) are simply physically impossible as she is not bendy in the upper back any more. We go back in 8 months and if that is good then she's done with him (barring any future problems). Found something that will have to do for the physics project - gonna make some tie-dye camo shirts as we couldn't find any actual ones. Gonna leave that little project up to DH. She takes the SAT tomorrow, I told her she's drinking some "chocolate milk" (aka protein powder in milk) before she goes even if she doesn't like it to get something decent in her body for the test.
Looks like we're doing Hardee's for dinner (LC thickburger for me) and then going to my IL's to pick up some free broccoli. Lots to do this weekend too... so I'd better get a jump start on it now.
Will report in later.

Amy, Happy Anniversary, and I hope your evening goes well. :)
My budget meeting lasted most of the day and on Monday I'm going to be holed up in my office, unavailable, making all the changes. I love my job, but I was ready for this meeting last Monday, as planned. The boss didn't allocate the time until today and now I'm in another crunch. :p

Final report..... I've had a headache lurking all afternoon, still won't go away. Of course it hasn't gotten BAD yet either so that's something.
Totals:
Protein: 146
Carbs: 51
Water: 122
Supps: morning only
Exercise: done 2 of 3 for the week done
Looks like we're having another car trouble weekend. :( I now have to taxi DD1 to her SAT as I don't want her driving alone in a car that's making funny noises.

GF forgot to stop and pick up the Chinese, so instead we went out for Indian. I had very little rice while there, but we did each get a piece of cake for "dessert".
All of it was well worth it.
But Honey Tree meal is over...and I'm back on plan.
good night everyone...I'm heading to bed.
