I can resist everything except temptation.
Oscar Wilde
Today is the first day of the rest of the month of March. We are forming new habits and shaking loose of old ones. In the past fifteen days, have you noticed progress?

Breakfast will be a protein shake, lunch will be cauli-bake, dinner will be determined after a stop at the butcher tonight.

The Geezer and I put together two nice oak-looking bookcases last night which will give us a place to put the huge collection of books we've been storing in our travel trailer since we remodeled the living room last summer. That will enable me to sell the travel trailer and get it out of the yard! That's a wonderful thought to start a week with. :)

The weather is going to be great today, approaching 70F in some areas, but I can live with 60. ;)

I love that quote!

Another soggy day here. I had to be the taxi this morning, no time for exercise. Still a bit sore too.

Am in the middle of my shake. Work food is packed (wrap and some cheese). Dinner is "breakfast" (eggs, sausage, bacon, etc....). And of course tuna and almonds in the afternoon ;)

I have to leave work early to pick up the girls from school (have to get there 45 minutes to get a place in line) then do the prom dress thing. DWTS tonight though so I'll be sure to relax some.

Morning Carol and Becca (and those to follow).
I am feeling SO much better than I was last week...my mood is back to GOOD instead of depressed! Whew!!

My parents are coming to stay with us tonight. After my fathers VERY SUCCESSFUL hip surgery, he is visiting relatives before he heads back to work. While he was home recuperating, he was called into the office :jawDrop: and offered a promotion :D!! What a great company he works for!
So they'll be here tonight through tomorrow morning, then they head to my little bro's near Chicago. I'm staying home tomorrow morning so I can have breakfast with them and actually spend some time chatting (I have NO idea what time they'll arrive tonight).
I haven't planned supper. If they are eating before they arrive, I have leftover pizza, otherwise we have chicken breasts to grill, salad, mixed veggies, and we'll probably throw together some instant tators (not for me).

Food is planned otherwise.

6am 1lc scone (didn't know I had two more from the last batch)
8am diet v8 juice, 4turkey bacon, 1 serving new cauli-hash casserole
12pm chili ebon with s.cream and cheese, 1 cucumber
3pm 1/2 c cottage cheese or 3oz yogurt and 20 almonds
6pm either burger, omlet or grilled chix

I had a bunch of little leftovers in the fridge so I threw them together and made a new casserole.
Something like 8eggs, 1bag frozen cauliflower (chopped to rice size portions), 2c bag of cheese, 1/2 can cream of celery, 1/2 can chix broth, 1/2 onion. It's not bad. Not enough protein for me (hence the 4bacon) but if you protein requirements are low, it's not a bad mix.

Lovely quote of the day!!!!

Amy glad you got your groove back!

I am feeling pretty good today too, despite the 3 cookies I ate yesterday!! Why? I have no idea, you would think the body would learn but no. Therefore I suffered from a sore stomach and sugar induced headache!!

Today is a new day!

I will post my intake later as I am using Fitday and an enjoying it now.

For the Wilde Fans out there:
Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination. (http://www.quotationspage.com/quote/34368.html)

Gotta love the Irishman that the Irish couldn't tolerate.

Today is back to work. How do I work today, when in a week and 12 hours, I will be on an airplane. Well, there is stuff to do between now and then, so do it I must. Else these scalawags I work with will bug me in Europe. With a 6 hour time difference. Not an appealing thought. Avoided a conference call on my last Europe trip, and would like to go 2/2 on that score.

Food will be shake, breakfast for lunch, and probably leftover prime rib for dinner.

Additional Max stuff in my journal. Have been neglecting it and posting a lot up here. More about Europe, a rave review of a shopping site, and whatever else my rambling mind trips upon.

Wilde was definitely cool! Temptation in all its forms seem to be looming in my future. A trip to Florence to see the kids, Easter...but I think that I'll be able to handle the situation by buying heavily in the delicatessen (salumerie) in Florence, have some good Chianina (steak) and some savory sheep's cheese (pecorino). Not shabby at all. Easter is at our house so it will be simple to eat properly.

Outdoors since this morning early. Already time for dinner so it has been a long day. DH has a really bad cold or something of that nature. He is feverish sometimes and out of sorts but logically after having spent the morning and half the afternoon couch potatoing he is now taking care of the rabbits and co. Couldn't think of letting me do it because they're his babies.

Today was a fuller menù day.
BFast - ricotta and eggs (35P)
Lunch - ham and artichokes (18P)1/2 avocado and a piece of lard it was a quick in and out again to work meal
Snack - 2 scones ( 22P) so I am getting up the protein count and the fats
Dinner - meatloaf artichokes and 1/2 avocado

should be better off eating those quantities. Also have olive oil to add to the fat list. Hope things work better t his way.
Off to read and such.
Good rest of Monday everyone!

Hi, all! Max, I love that quote. It fits my mood entirely today.

Becca, sorry about the transmission. That sounds expensive!

Amy, SO glad you're back to yourself! That is so cool about your dad.

Jackie, you can do it! FitDay is really helpful once you get the hang of it, and a database built up.

Puddin, great planning for Florence. Too bad about DH, but you really didn't want to do the rabbits anyway. ;)

Got ahold of parents...we will host supper tonight at our house,
so I'll have a grilled chicken breast, green beans, and salad with feta dressing.

Calories will be about 2000 today, but fat is lower than protein. Seems to be how it works...if my fat is not higher than my protein, then I end up taking in more calories...
Oh well, I'm not concerned.

That sounds perfect, Amy.

I will just keep on keeping on ..Sheila, I hope you feel better quickly. Good job with staying on plan. :) Sometimes being sick makes you want to dive into the comfort food.

I've got a roast in the oven as we speak. It's great having more daylight now--it helps to make up for driving to work in the dark again. That will soon be over. Another lovely day! Look ma, no coat! :D

Evenin' all... quick post as it's late (Monday nights do that to me ;) ). Another headache too.... :(

I was at 40 carbs when I finished dinner, thought that was so great for the day, then got hungry during the show so I had a TLC bar, still within my goals, but it felt like cheating. On the other hand I did NOT have a cinnamon bun at dinner and I have not even had a nibble of the brownies that DD2 made for school and messed up in the cutting (so edible for home use, not for taking to others). The smell of chocolate was tempting at first so I grabbed one of my SF Dark Chocolate puddings and nipped that in the bud.

So for the day:

Protein: 149
Carbs: 53
Water: 112
Supps: yes
Exercise: that is apaprently a distant memory in my schedule right now

I didn't get to really read much tonight, hope I didn't miss anything important.

See you tomorrow!

Day did not go as planned, got called in to work this am after I had planned my day at home. Cleaning laundry and then more cleaning. I love being a teacher so I shouldn't complain, but I am also better with a plan so everything was a little wonky today and as a result no exercise occured. I am sure Shadow will soon send out a search party.

Here is what the day held:
Breakfast: blueberry shake
snack: almonds
lunch: spinach/avocado/tomato/cheese and egg salad (Yummy!!) with caesar dressing (my favorite)
snack: yogurt shake
dinner: 1/2 cup mixed greens (cooked) and a huge portion of roast beef.

Cal: 1518
Fat:96.7
ECC: 25.1 (apparently there is alot of fibre in an avocado, who knew?)
Protein: 113.5

I was short one litre of water, but I always add anywhere from 1-4 cups of water to my shakes so I think it all balanced out.

Big food day, on plan though.
Cals: 1900 (whoops, little high for me)
protein:127 (good)
Carbs: 27 (spread with 2 at breakfast, 9.5 at lunch, 9 at snack and 7 at dinner)
water: good
pills: everything save the second ADHD med. Got too late.

Solid, but a little high calorie due to beef ribs off the prime rib from last night.

Was a good food day...calories were higher than I aim for, but was SO hungry by bedtime that I needed a little something, so I had some peanuts.

Pro: 136.9
Ecc: 39.6
Fat: 141.8
Cal: 2078
