How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.
Annie Dillard
Does that mean once our habits are in order, our lives are in order? Maybe not, but I'll bet it becomes easier! ;)
Good morning! It was very cheering to hear on the radio that Spring begins tomorrow. Won't be the end of our snow, of course, but it's a nice though just in itself.
Breakfast will be a protein shake. Lunch will be spinach-stuffed chicken and carrots. Dinner looks like ground beef and green beans.

Morning Carol and all to follow...
Some things are easier, others (like exercise) not so much.
The scale was up AGAIN this morning. I'm thinking there's some hormonal bloat going on right now. Will see what happens over the next few days. The brownie binge on Monday didn't help I know, but today's gain can't still be from that (can it?). I'll just keep plugging along.
Breakfast will be a shake.
Lunch probably a wrap (if I get in there soon and make it)
Tuna and almonds in the afternoon
Chicken fajitas for dinner
DD2 wants to go to the school band concert tonight (one of her BFFs is playing) so I'll have to make sure I get all the chopping done ahead of time.
Work will be brutal today as I was off yesterday.
Happy Friday Eve!
'becca
Morning...
I have a new employee today, so don't have time to chat.
8:30am egg souffle, 1c diet v8 juice
11am caesar salad with egg, mush, almonds
2pm deli meat 3oz
6pm 6oz corned beef, 1c sauerkraut
Better get to work.

Good morning, folks. I am so glad winter is officially over. Tilled the garden yesterday and planted onions -- a month late, but needed to wait until we had some rain since last year the cottontails ate all the onions as they were the only green stuff around. With last week's rain the fields are beginning to green, so hopefully the bunnies will leave the onions be.
Yesterday and today are recovery days -- still up 4 lbs. and don't want that cemented in. Then tomorrow I'm off to church celebrations for a couple of days. Will be back Sunday. So far I've been on-plan mealwise, but need to ramp up the exercise.
Have a great day and end-of-the-week everyone! :D

I live in Chicago. Winter will be over in May, I'm told. Nice thought, but spring doesn't start until you can't see your breath anymore. At least that's my criteria.
Last night, had a massive eating of the leftover prime rib. It is gone now. A 12 ounce cooked slice, plus a bone to gnaw on. Was good. Not as good as it was the night I made it, but such is life. In future, for four, 2 bone roast will do nicely. 3 for 6, 4 for 8. I think that works fine.
Today, I am feeling good. Must get busy at work. Much to do and three days to do it.
Just remembered I have leftover steak! I will add that to my caesar salad as my lunch/snack.
Gotta figure out how to warm it without overcooking it.

Gotta figure out how to warm it without overcooking it.Yum! Try just putting it on defrost, which is a very low heat. That's what I do with my cauli-bake when it's still partially frozen.
I got a gift today; the boss is still at a conference. :D I am getting tons of little stuff done and loving it!
OH...forgot to note one thing from last night.
We arrived at the restaurant and sat down. Moment's later one of the suits at the table calmly said "watch out"...and was looking over my shoulder. I turned around and a waiter is giving a patron the Heimlich. It was all very slow and calm...but he was aiming the guy right toward me.
I totally understand...do what has to be done to save his life no matter what.
But I started to lean out of the way...just in case...and the hostess saw me and said to the waiter to turn him toward the wall. I thought that was a good idea for a couple reasons, but anyway.
They turned him, two more yanks, the patron lost his supper...and his life was spared.
We ate slowly and chewed our food...a lot.

That almost makes me worry...I've been spending my days gardening, watering and carrying branches. Grief, does that mean that I will spend my whole life doing that? Scarey !
Today was a beautiful sunny day and it is hard to believe that tomorrow we're supposed to have rain, cold and wind. Spring begins tomorrow? We've been in Spring temps for the last two weeks and if the weather gets too cold and we get icey rain it will detroy the flowers that are just peeping out of the blossoms of the pear trees. Grief! Max, according to your definition, fortunately for us it is Spring almost all year round.
Meals today were:
Bfast - pudding, ham
Lunch - ham, avocado 1/2...have a laugh. In the Eades ECC counter book they list Calif or Florida avocados - and if your avocado comes from Israel?
Dinner will be roast turkey carcass, salad and the other half of that avocado
Snack - I ate 3 walnuts and am considering a piece of ham.
Feeling better today because I read my measurements from March last year and they were - hips 42in., waist 36 in., weight 70.
This year March, right now they are- hips still 42in, waist 34 and weight 71.
Can't have everything all at once but I think that the situation is shaping up. My pants are still loose so I assume that the muscle situation is doing ok. :D

Ammy, Claudette and Carol, thanks for the welcome back ;) .
My days are spent looking at the computer all day, and I literally can surf all day. My poor graphics website has been neglected as since January I mostly surf the low carb forums looking for hints, tips, and recipes! I sometimes feel guilty for getting paid to good to do nothing, but I've been here 10-1/2 years, so I guess the boss is keeping me around  !
Oh, Claudette, I live in southeast Texas. We're beginning to warm up during the days, but the nights and mornings are still quite cool.

Hi all, for some reason I am exhausted today. I still have not done any exercise and I think that is to blame. On the days when I exercise in the morning I do not have this late afternoon slump. (like I could crawl up on the couch and just sleep right now)I must get back to that routine.
Food counts are:
Breakfast: strawberry/bluberry shake
Snack: strawberrys and cheese
lunch: the famous chessy cauliflower/sausage casserole (it is AWESOME)
Snack: almonds
Calories: 1689
Fat: 123.9
Carbs, ECC: 24
Protein: 111.2
Lots of water today!!! I also started taking chromium and CLA I wonder if I will see a change in fat reduction??? Any information on the two would be great. I know what they are supposed to do, but has anyone taken them and noticed a difference in their weight loss??

Hi, y'all,
Today, on plan.
The scale was too good to me today, down another lb today. When I stay in the 40-45 carbs/day, I continue to lose.
(Note to self, do not stray off the plan.....).
Todays menu:
B-eggs, hood lc milk, lc toast w/ smear butter
L-steak, green salad w/ lc dressing, sf tapioca pudding
S-boar's head deli chicken, few green pepper rings
D- dreamfield's pasta w/ alfredo sauce, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, green salad w/ veggies, lc dressing, sf tapioca.
(just love the tapioca, can't have too much around the house).
We can do this!
Hugs,
Cate

Evenin' all. Crazy day for me... isn't is always :) The high school band concert was very entertaining and DD2s friend was thrilled that we were there.
I ended up having chili for lunch as there wasn't enough meat for 2 people and I'm frankly tired of wraps. So I made DH a LOADED sandwich.
I'm a bit over my personal goals for carbs, if I hadn't had the bag of peanuts at work I'd have been okay. But I got hungry and that was the healthy option.
So for the day:
Protein: 148
Carbs: 61
Water: 112
Supps: yes
Exercise: nope, beginning to think this week just isn't going to happen.

The Importance of Walking
Walking can add minutes to your life.
This enables you at 85 years old
to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing
home at $7000 per month.
___________________ ______________
My grandpa started walking
five miles a day when he was 60.
Now he's 97 years old
and we don't know where he is.
___________________ ______________
I like long walks,
especially when they are taken
by people who annoy me.
___________________ ______________
The only reason I would take up walking
is so that I could hear heavy breathing again.
___________________ ______________
I have to walk early in the morning,
before my brain figures out what I'm doing..
___________________ ______________
I joined a health club last year,
spent about 400 bucks.
Haven't lost a pound.
Apparently you have to go there.
___________________ ______________
Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise',
I wash my mouth out with chocolate.
___________________ ______________
I do have flabby thighs,
but fortunately my stomach covers them.
___________________ ______________
The advantage of exercising every day
is so when you die, they'll say,
'Well, she looks good doesn't she.'
___________________ ______________
If you are going to try cross-country skiing,
start with a small country.
___________________ ______________
I know I got a lot of exercise
the last few years,......
just getting over the hill.
___________________ ______________
We all get heavier as we get older,
because there's a lot more information in our heads.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

AND
Every time I start thinking too much
about how I look,
I just find a Happy Hour
and by the time I leave,
I look just fine.

Thanks! I have the recipe - I used half hazelnut and half almond flour. I flattened it like one big cookie - dried it out! pretty tasty! I'll try full hazelnut flour next!

Feelix, these are so funny! I could use them as daily quotes!

It can get VERY dry with full hazelnut, but I believe it's a touch less carbs, and more in the scone category (GREAT with coffee) so I like it.
