Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.
Dale Carnegie
We do our best, no matter what’s going on around us. Sometimes our best is just hanging on, but it’s the best we can do at that time. We persevere! :)

Breakfast will be a protein shake. Lunch is cauli bake, dinner is TBD. Lots of good choices, though.

Have a great day, everyone!

Nice quote Carol. It in itself gives hope.

Today will be a mish mosh day again, 1/2 day at school and then perhaps grocery shopping. Depending on the roads, we had rain for two days and now it is -8????

Breakfast will be a shake
lunch will be chicken caesar salad
Dinner will be sausage and sauerkraut
Snacks: mini baby bell and almonds

Good quote, Carol -- thanks. I allowed myself to get derailled again yesterday afternoon. Really need to ponder what's going on here. Did drop a pound from my excesses this weekend, but still am over my goal weight. I will probably do a couple of recovery days starting tomorrow -- 3 shakes and a small meal -- to see if I can drop back down and then some. I really do not like being on this rollercoaster, even if it is only 4-5 lbs. Blood sugar has also been up (no kidding with the way I've been eating!)

So today is yet another start. Breakfast was steel cut oats/flax/soy grits combo. Lunch will be venison stew and salad, and supper will be a challenge as it's Bible study night, but I'll choose the best I can. Then tomorrow, on to the recovery regime.

Have a great day, everyone! :)

Last night hubby's tummy was upset, so I didn't cook the roast for dinner like I had planned. Had an odd mix of stuff...hard-boiled egg, a couple of pickles, a granola bar (too carby, even though it's supposed to be one of the healthier kind with fiber and inulin and stuff), and later a bowl of Glucerna cereal (also too carby). So...we will attempt the roast today.

Breakfast: two hard-boiled eggs, Jello SF pudding cup
Snack: Atkins snack bar
Lunch: ????
Dinner: that roast, with the squash and zucchini.

Keep on trying...yep, that's me. Each day is a new day, thank goodness.

Well, the 4lb scale jump yesterday resulted in a 3lb drop today. Up down up down up down.

meals are pretty planned. I'm being treated to lunch again by another of the lawyers I worked with during our merger.
Here's a sample (http://www.mccormickandschmicks.com/afreshapproach/sample-menu-lunch.aspx) of what the menu could look like.
I will just have veggies and some form of fish.
Last time I was there I had salmon on veggies.
They change the menu every day, so I'll have to sort of "wing it".

but other meals are planned.

8am cauli-turkey casserole, diet v8 juice
12pm fish, veggie
3pm mixed nuts, iced latte
6pm 6oz pork chop, green beans

I still cannot delete items in fitday. It started when I downloaded Internet Explorer 8...is anyone else having this problem when they downloaded IE8?

ARGH...

BC it sounds like you have a plan to get back on track. Thats the spirit , and its in the spirit of Carols quote of the day. Win-win !!

It was 60 when we got up this morning, but very cloudy and they say we will be getting some rain later. I hope so, just no storms. Don't need those.

See you all later.

Hi folks! It's good to hear all the positive talk today. I'm having a great work day today. Digging through paperwork I haven't looked at in weeks and taking care of it all. I even sorted a drawer and re-organized a phone list. One of those days. :) I'm still feeling the sinus headache I woke up with today, but it's backed way off.

My kitchen counter arrived! I got a "what-do-I-do-with-it" call from the Geezer. Did I mention we have a small house? I think he's going to slide it behind the couch. Good thing DS is home to help him.

I'm back home now after our couple of weeks away, but we have visitors coming this weekend, so we won't be getting our normal routine properly established again for a bit longer.

We're eating out tonight (at our usual place, so I know I can find something workable) then I'll go shopping tomorrow to start restocking the fridge.

It's not my birthday for another couple of weeks, but thank you :D. The toy should arrive tomorrow - I'll keep you posted.

Had a very nice lunch.
Salmon saute.
Not quite enough salmon, I ate about 1Tbsp of the rice in order to eat the sauce, and ignored the bread and desserts.
The saute had a few dried cranberries (maybe 4) and a few walnuts, but otherwise was asparagus and salmon.

And the most wonderful cream sauce...MMmmmmmmm....

You know I'm waiting with bated breath! ;) I'll catch you later on the birthday. I don't know why I assumed, being married to a similar creature. I got mine a month early last year.

Amy, good job! The salmon sounds delicious! How many more lawyers are waiting in the wings? :)

 They do sometimes sound eerily similar :paranoid:.

I was encouraged at the restaurant this evening to hear someone at the next table ask if she could have a salad instead of the starch with her dinner. The waiter offered alternative starches, but she said that although she loved them all, she was avoiding the carbs. I don't think I've ever encountered another low carber in the flesh! (They gave her the salad without any difficulty.)
