In this life we have to make many choices. Some are very important choices. Some are not. Many of our choices are between good and evil. The choices we make, however, determine to a large extent our happiness or our unhappiness, because we have to live with the consequences of our choices. Making perfect choices all of the time is not possible. It just doesn't happen. But it is possible to make good choices we can live with and grow from.
James E. Faust
Welcome to April! :) We’ve made some choices just to get here. We’ll be making more as we walk through this month. Will you make good choices?
Breakfast will be a protein shake. Lunch will be Turkey Cauli Bake. Dinner looks like salmon, maybe on the grill.
What’s going on with you today?

I don't have anything to report yet for today - exercise is planned for this afternoon and meditation in the evening. I prefer to do them earlier in the day generally, but they sometimes have to be arranged around other things.
My husband has said he wants to eat LC again (actually he doesn't want to eat LC, but he wants to lose weight and knows that it works) so that should make the meal planning easier.

Morning Carol and Janet :)
New month so I'm trying to get back to posting here. In spite of the upheaval in my life the past 10 days or so I have still be tracking my food on Fitday, or close enough to get a general idea.
Things are still shaky for me so I'm really just taking things one day (meal) at a time. Also some more general craziness going on that makes planning difficult right now.
I'm entering the month about 21-22 pounds lighter than I entered the year, bouncing around between 2 numbers on the scale. I'm even feeling thinner in spots and apparently have lost enough weight that one of my co-workers can tell that whatever I'm doing is working.
She complains about not losing at all and being always tired, then will go on to say that she had her salad w/ FF dressing for lunch and then Special K and skim milk for dinner and can't understand. Well plain and simple, she's not eating enough (never mind the fat and carbs issue in her case for now). I've convinced her she needs to eat more to fuel the metabolism and to eat more protein so she did buy herself some deli meats and apples. I asked if she'd mind if I wrote her up a "meal plan" and she said she'd love that, she wants someone to tell her exactly what to eat. I'll work on that this weekend.
So for today....
Shake for breakfast - I've gotten into the habit of 2 scoops of powder so it's a VERY high protein shake, but it seems to be helping, and insures that if I hit a snag later that I've gotten my minimum
Lunch is looking like tuna as I don't have much to choose from here (had to toss the last batch of deli meats as they went bad and I'm not ready to spend to see if I'm up to that or not)
Dinner is supposed to be Italian chicken (very cheesy with tomato sauce), will see how it goes.
We're rolling out new software at work today, I'm NOT looking forward to it at all (tomorrow will be my forray into the depths of it). Hopefully we'll get the kinks worked out soon.
I've missed you guys!

Ah yes...a new month!!! I am very excited about April and the choices I will be making this month. Spring is in the air, summer is around the corner, and I am excited about all of fun stuff I am planning, including eating healthly and feeling terrific. I pretty much have my month planned; my goal weight set, my eating schedules, activities, I needed to make sure I was all set to make this a successfull month...well I know I am.
I also ordered Robb Jacob's no carb whey protien...should be arriving today or tomorrow. I am still struggling getting enough protien...I am at about 70-80 grams a day. Since I am one of those that has to also watch their calories, keeping the calories in check while getting enough protien has been a struggle. The whey protien will help.
Happy April everyone!!!!:D

That is a really great quote today Carol !! Choice = Consequence. That's what I get out of it and I like it so much I'm going to put it in my signature line to remind myself daily. Thanks for finding this one.
I'm starting April feeling pretty upbeat--since I wised up and stopped eating so many nuts each day I have lost a bit this month. I've been bouncing around since January but today is the 3rd day in a row so I'm going to count this as my official weight til I go 3 days in a row at a different number. I was just getting too many calories !!
See it's true -- CHOICE=CONSEQUENCE.

Good morning all! Fabulous quote. At Bible study last evening we were talking about making good/ bad choices, so this fits in very well.
Happy April Fools day. The guineas decided to play a fools trick on me and all disappeared overnight! Apparently I hadn't latched the door well enough. Had a real scare as I couldn't see or hear them, then about an hour ago the "guinea chorus" all showed up outside my hermitage. They are still seranading me!
I began the day with meditation, excerise is done (Gazelle), I've amended my diet to decrease carbs at bit (70 ECC), logged my projected foods on DietPower, GCBC is on the table by my chair waiting to be read this afternoon, and I'm set for the day.
Have a great one, folks. "See" you all on the weekend. :D

I had a great week so far. Monday supper I ate to many carbs than preferred but i'm back on plan so I'm very proud of myself!
Morning.
I usually check in first thing when I get to work, but it was so busy today I'm just getting around to it now.
Meals are planned...but I haven't thought much about exercise. It snowed last night, which means everything will be melted and mucky, so not sure I want to walk tonight...(I HATE spring).
I have to work on the exercise. It's a realistic goal (2x per week) but I still have to work on it.
7am 1deviled egg, diet v8 splash
8am cauli-turkey casserole
11:30am lc lasagna, 6oz celery
3pm 2 deviled eggs
6pm lasagna soup, 1cup salad with ranch

Love making choices - like using the computer with my right eye just to say hello and hoping that in this moment my Doc isn't online. She'd see me in her Skype list...rats.
Was really good today food wise.
Breakfast Fage, strawberries (but I'm sure that when I've finished the extra large tub I bought I will get cottage cheese instead because it is higher in proteins)
Lunch - roast rabbit, eggplant parmeggiana (mozzarella and parmeggiana to make a good protein/carb combo)
Snack - lean pancetta and 6 walnut halves
Dinner - lean pancetta with another piece of eggplant parm
Seems that I am doing better food wise. Hope the scale loves me this month.
Close here so I don't get caught:p

My husband has said he wants to eat LC again (actually he doesn't want to eat LC, but he wants to lose weight and knows that it works) so that should make the meal planning easier. Whatever it takes! I wish I could convince the Geezer to eat low carb, but he's quite into sweets and DS is fond of pasta. Oh well....

Sounds like it to me, too, Heather. :)
I'm starting April feeling pretty upbeat--since I wised up and stopped eating so many nuts each day I have lost a bit this month. That can be a problem for me too, Karole. I waffle around with them constantly. Glad you broke your stall!

I just finished my lunch. I threw in a side salad that was getting old in my refrigerator and had it with balsalmic vinegar dressing.
Carry on, troops! :D Who else is going to report today?

The ironic thing is that it was his idea to try LC in the first place. Anyway, there's no point in trying to coerce him, but it does make it easier if we're both eating the same things.
Lunch today was "squeaky cheese" (grilled halloumi) with salad. Dinner will be chicken with lemon & green olives.
My exercise is done for today. Meditation still planned for this evening after dinner.

I've still got to take time to do the meditation this afternoon and then I will be 1 for 1 for the month !! (wonder how long that will last !):D-- Well , it will last as long as I make the right choices !!
And I made it to lunch.
I'm working on making sure my meals are spread out evenly...and although my stomach was growling (rather loudly might I add)at 10:30, I waited until 11:30 to eat.
I should be good now until 3...it was a very meatly lasagna.

Like Mitra I am calling it quits for the computer today. I got everything in , including the meditation part and totals in Fitday. I was surprised as I ate less than 1400 calories--yesterday it was over 1900--go figure. Guess it averages out in the long run. Hope everyone had a great and sucessful April first. (It doesn't seem possible we are in April already !!

Isn't it nice to end the day on a positive note? :) I exercised carefully tonight because my lower back has been aching a bit. I have no idea what I did to irritate it. Today I walked for twenty minutes and biked for ten, then went to the machines.
I'm planning on meditating later, when the television is off.
I EXERCISED!!!!! WIPEEEEEEE
I went on a two mile walk to the grocery store. One day down...one more to go.
also, because of that walk (and a killer headache) I added 2no carb crackers and 1oz peanut butter. All is good with counts though.

I really made things challenging for myself today. First of all, had a pizza omelette for breakfast. Very good, but not enough protein. I should have supplemented.
Then I made bread. I guess I just wanted to test my self-discipline and resolve. I had one, teeny, weeny slice ( .4 oz; less than 6 ECC) with lunch. (Now that it's cooled off and put away, I won't have any problem resisting it)
I made some sandwich filling with ground up left over pot roast. Nothing difficult about that, except I had to measure everything so I could figure the food values. Same with the stew I made for supper.
Then, even with tasting as I prepared (not only a cook's perogative, but her responsibility) I ended up with:
Calories 1191 ( I was aiming for ~1500 )
ECC 20
protein 95.3 ( goal is =>100 )
I think I'll go get me a snack. Night, all.

Reporting in....
Plenty of protein, very little in the way of carbs (think FD has me at 20 ECCs), moderate water. So a good day for me.
Going to shower and get as much of tomorrow's food done as I can tonight so I can get out of here early. I have absolutely no clue what I'm going to do at work tomorrow, there are no "instructions" for the accounting end of things only sales.
DDs got their report cards today, very good grades for both so I'm a proud mom tonight :D
See you tomorrow

Happy April 1st, Carol and everyone! I haven't been around in a while... lurking somewhat... but I am onboard and ready for April. I appreciate the quote Carol. I am committing to making good choices every day this month. Even though I'll be in and out of town a few times, I will stay focussed and make good choices both in meals and exercise. Thanks for being here everyone. See you all tomorrow! :-)

I really made things challenging for myself today. Sounds like you came out on top, Sandy. Making bread would be very risky for me. :paranoid:
